Someone honestly needs to make a comp of their accidental predictions for Ace Attorney. We all know about Danganronpa and DDLC but both this playthrough and the first playthrough have a boatload of really accurate accidental predictions
I wish Arin had chosen "Not Guilty" at the end because I vastly prefer watching Engarde beg for a guilty sentence to the scene Arin chose. It feels much more satisfying to watch Phoenix taunt him by pleading "not guilty" with a smirk on his face
"Guilty" does make much more sense narratively though. This is the case that should put an end to Phoenix's perfect win record to parallel Edgeworth's development from the first game. Choosing "Not Guilty" can effectively be taken to mean Phoenix hasn't learned anything.
@@landofmalvora I never saw it that way, but I see what you mean. I always saw it as Phoenix knew Engarde would be found guilty no matter what he (Phoenix) pleaded, and that his plea of "Not Guilty" was just to taunt Engarde

I just realized that De Killer is basically Hitman 47 in that he's able to trick everyone just by changing his outfit, despite having several clear and obvious features that should immediately give him away.
they did, I used an unused sprite that was revealed in the Ace Attorney artbook, which probably was made for T+T but her dress was still blue so we're claiming it for JUSTICE

I know im pretty late, but watching this complation further proves how much i hate this case. Everyone has this case in their top 3, and i cannot understand how, its stupid
@@justanoreo2.0 i dont have notifs on so i only just now saw this, but i have 2 main reasons. 1. To me, since Ace Attorney is mostly a murder mystery game, about 90% of my enjoyment is split between trying to figure out who did it, and how they did it. The game hammers in so early that Matt didnt kill anyone (something never done before this) and proving so with the magatama never going off. You find out later that day that the person called an assassin, so immedietly the "how" is gone. Well ok sure, you can still maybe enjoy it if its done well with enough suspects. Uh, no. This case has 3 reoccuring characters (meaning none of them couldve done it) leaving Matt and Adrian. And since we know there was an assassin, the game trying to tell us Matts super duper innocent is now unbelievably suspicious. So before the first trial day even starts, theres no mystery and theres 2 suspects, with your client looking suspicious. Maybe thats just a me problem, but already having the entire point of the case figured out before the trial even starts is just... why? Ace Attorney has a lot of trial padding, but here its the worst, because all you hafta do is figure out from a 50/50 chance who called Shelly. I know Ace Attorney isnt strictly a murder mystery, but thats how i view trials, so having the "how" be an assassin with only 2 suspects is horrible to me cuz theres nothing to figure out at that point. Might as well flip a coin to guess whos guilty 2. Was Maya getting kidnapped needed at all? No, i dont remember the full case, but i do remember straight up disliking Pheonix who tried to drag on the trials in worse and worse ways because of this plot point since Shelly wanted a 1 day trial. Mayas fine by the end, Shelly escapes, and this was all used for Shelly to say "hey, get Matt a not guilty verdict" as if Pheonix wasnt trying to do that already. Only thing i can think of that was even close to mattering was hearing Matts cat through the radio, which didnt matter since Shelly and Maya were gone by the time yall got there. I dont remember any sort of point for this, and its annoying to think about
@@TheGodIvy Saying JFA case 4 is bad because it's the only case that's not the exact same formula as every other case in the trilogy is pretty bad reasoning imo it's very good precisely BECAUSE it flips the established formula on its head: you now strongly suspect that your client is the killer until it's revealed, but you still have to keep defending him under threat of Maya's death
@@TheGodIvy that makes sense, I got no issue with what you said besides shoe, cause. They needed the game needed a lead, and it's likely that de killer left because he realized the cat could be heard, but overall I see your points (still better than case one of this game though)
@@nashvontookus7451 my issue isnt that its different, my issue is that theres nothing to figure out. Thats how i am with these trials, i wanna figure stuff out and try to piece together who did it and how they did it. This case has neither of those things, so that along with me personally not liking Matt or Adrian, the unnecessary padding on both trial days, and there being the whole suicide thing (a thing i struggle with) i dont have a reason to like this case.
