This fire pit is one of a few covered pits that is on the list ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM of approved products for Disney Fort Wilderness. The product served its purpose well and provided excellent fires throughout the evening. We were able to open the door and do s'mores, but I had to be careful because the handle was a bit hot on occasions. Additionally, I wish they had replaced some of the standard nuts with lock nuts in some places. We lost the door handle after just a couple of days of usage. Not a deal breaker, just a recommendation. I still give it 5 stars.

It’s great! My shed has been completed and it turned out nice looking and sturdy and it is way better than the sheds that many of my neighbors had put up. Of course, I'm pleased with the outcome and this Ryan’s ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans was extremely useful to me as a guide.

It is amazing how that little wood stove can make the cabin so warm and cozy. I can't wait to see you get all your tools in there and watch some of your projects. What a great space for you, Kyle. 🙂
I enjoy watching your videos, you have many skills. Reminds me of when my grandparents got 160 acres free 100 years ago and had to cut trees down to build a small log cabin. Life was hard in those days.
Grew up with wood-burning stoves as a kid to heat the entire house. Keeping the fire going during the winter was a pain but man that heat just warms your whole body through and through.
Kyle- you should bend a small piece of metal, like a upside down V and put up on top of your spark arrester, to keep snow&rain from coming down and rusting your pipe.
I got the same stove last year. Heats my 16 by 26 ft. Cabin perfectly. Put fire bricks in bottom. Do not need them on side. I stock it up at 10:00 at night and there will be coals left in the morning. I am burning hardwood. It’s precision made. Amazing stove! I couldn’t be happier.

Dear Kyle, we love this project of an affordable cabin build. We wondered if you will ever do a video with the tools you have used for these projects and where you got them. Thanks for the tips on the wood stove.
I had a shed I temporarily used one on, and it worked so well I left it. I liked how much tension you can put on them, just extremely durable. I know another guy that actually made a tent out of one, hunting blinds, he complained about moisture, had to vent it. Or it would mold.
Hello Kyle. Everything is absolutely Amazing. Everything you've been doing to your property. I look forward to your videos. You are young and have so much knowledge about off grid living. Thank you for sharing yours and Cierras life with us. Blessings from above.
I would take a spare piece of tarp, cut the pipe hole and glue it to the other tarp for a super awesome seal you can always leave the tarp piece big around the pipe and sandwich a flat piece of aluminum on top of it glueing that aluminum right to the tarp. Water tight 👍👍
My little homestead took the dirt floor, mixed with some kind of cement and water, to make a solid floor. If you want that kind of floor. You have certainly done a lot of work. Looks great.
Here’s a tip to consider for your chimney.. take a 16” piece length of stove pipe; don’t put it together. Instead use self-tap metal screws to fix the open at the mid-point to the top of your chimney making a ‘T’ . Then you can wrap your metal screening around it. Stops water and embers.
As I've said before you Are 1 smart hard-working young man I can't wait to get my wood stove going down the basement here in the Ozarks unlimited supply of oak ,hickory to burn up weathers just been too warm I enjoy your videos very much look forward to setting around seeing how hard you're working take care
I just got my stove in the other day, I can't wait to try it out! I'm real happy I went with this one, it's my first stove ever and I searched for months :) I like that you were so excited, you forgot to burn it off first outside lol, nice video!
I'm sure you wanna finish off fixing the hole in your roof now, the way you left it means water is gonna be leaking right in just as soon a the snow starts melting from the heat of your fire. just saying, not hating...
I said the same thing. Also he needs to come up with some type of solution regarding the floor. I just can't see the bare ground being energy efficient.
I'm not sure but he mentioned he is waiting for the metal sheeting [White] to come in. With supply chains as they are , maybe Kyle figures its gonna be a long wait. Maybe the tarp is just temporary and he gets to still use the log work shop this winter. JUST GUESSING
@@darrellcaruk8880 I think I remember him saying that the tarp was gonna do just fine for quite a while... but I usually am drinking when I watch, so I could got that wrong... *sips beer and burps, loudly*
I was kind of getting bad vibes watching you cut the round hole out of the steel, I got the dickens cut out of me doing the same thing. Glad you succeded ! Onwards and upwards Kyle! Great show!
Just amazing that you only have that small amount in the cabin. U most likely got more money in the wood heater & stove pipe than you do in building the whole cabin. Remarkable!!!! 😁👍
I just ordered the propane tent stove from Northwoods Fabrication to heat a yurt I recently set up for my wife. She wanted to heat with gas so she wouldn't have to mess with firewood and ashes. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it works. (I mentioned that I'd heard about Northwoods Fabrication from you.) Thanks for the tip Kyle!
I would get about 3 yards of decomposed red granite. It may run you the 125.00 you have spent but it is an amazing ground cover. Easy to keep, clean, self levels with a rake and lasts a lifetime. It also is a great ground insulator. I’ve used it for years at the top turface on Baseball fields, green houses for late fall early spring growth, sun rooms, fire pit areas. All kinds of applications. There is also gray decomposed granite does the same thing might help the lighting a bit but I just dig the red especially with the log cabin. Ultimately your call obviously but thought I would shoot ya a suggestion man. From Oregon 🤙🤙
I hate to comment, but once you add the silicon if you make yourself a rain collar that fits around the stove pipe this will also help. I made one for my cabin stove pipe and it really works. If you search for a picture you will see what I mean! My little cabin is 9X12 and it's amazing too!(however not as cool as yours) There is something about cabins that are truly the best place to hang out. Love your channel, later!
You put the metal sheet inside now the rain will run down the tarp and drop on the the metal and inside the cabin. Also that mesh you put on the top will clogg up really quickly and you'll be changing tar soon. Just to let you know. Unless of course you already know this and by the looks of that cabin you've built you will do. 👍
Great job! Now you have caused me a problem. In my tiny off grid cabin I have a 120 year old Sun potbelly coal stove out of train caboose. I like it but have to burn 8 to 10 inch wood. Holds a fire about 5 hours tops with wood. I use coal at night. Wanting to burn bigger wood and hold fire longer. Will have to check out those stoves. I can always put the little potbelly in a future sauna....
my mom always said: nothing is guaranteed, but I insisted that the universal fire in God's flame would always be guaranteed in an inclusive way. Keep the coals glowing for good and shit, when the coals get rare. 🍷😎
Bro… you need a chimney cap… not just a spark resistant catch. You have an open hole on your wood stove venting allowing all outside sources: rain, snow, pine needles, birds, ect to come in. I work and install wood stoves professionally and you are required to have a venting cap. No matter the class of chimney whether it’s single wall, double wall, or class A chimney systems. The reason being is that mainly rain and snow will come down your venting and saturate your fire and wood. At that point you may as well use freshly cut green wood to burn, which is a no no. Just a helpful tip

That tarp u have , it should be just good there. I personally would go to a person that makes lumber tarps. They make them to your specific needs. I know a few of them because I'm a flattered. I'm a trucker. The double ply, with d ring securment points, and there way easier to work with, heavier, more durable. Nice Stove , looks efficient Are you going to install a chimney cap on the pipe to prevent rain from going down the pipe and into the stove.
Isn't water just going to run in under the tarp where it's cut? And without a cap won't rain just pour down into the stove?
Exactly what I was thinking!! Also needs some sort of a heat protection on the log walls behind the stove inside.
I would have definitely exhausted through the wall...
