Hello today I’m flying with Ethiopian airlines did you know Ethiopian airlines offer free hotel lunch or dinner with any layover? That’s more than five hours?  so this is a very good opportunity for me to see Addis Ababa Ethiopea in eight hours I decide to go to my hotel, drop my bags at my free hotel, and go out to the city and do a brief record just to see how the people the culture are

Ethiopia will wow you. It’s such a unique country with very different vibe from what you’ve been used to in other African countries. I am a Kenyan 🇰🇪 but I love Ethiopia very much.
I was only supposed to be here 3 weeks. I’m still here 2 months later. Things here are so unbelievable. From the springs of Arba Minch to church’s of Addis Ababa. I encourage everyone to walk the streets. It’s safe and you will find true meanings of Gods love as well as the beauty of what Ethiopian people are…especially women with no make-up, long hair, and the happiest of smiles. Though poor in many places, country is EXTREMELY BLESSED!

I admired these people, they are going through tough times and they maintained stoic attitudes.
Ethiopian people are very peaceful, God fearing and polite! If you greet them with a smile and say selam (hi) they’ll respond. They could be a bit reserved and to themselves but that’s just them being polite. Crimes you might come across are mostly pickpocketing in like busy downtown areas. It’d be nice if you find a local to show you around. People let their guard down when they see a local with you and you’ll be safer. You’ll definitely see people asking for money. If it’s in your heart to help go ahead, if not then you won’t be bothered much. Hope you have a wonderful time when you go back to explore Ethiopia again.

And a lot of people think that because Ethiopia 🇪🇹 is in Africa, they think it's hot, but Ethiopia 🇪🇹 really have the most perfect weather. 👌 and the food is very delicious because it's organic without no artificial flavor and without preservatives and not over salted like American food. 😅

I like the daytime weather - at night it’s too cold, need a heater. And it rains too much almost 6 months of the year cold rain in Addis.
Everyone in Addis always had respiratory illness it’s too cold at night.
Any country you land in, you can add that country. It doesn't matter how long you were there, as long as you were actually there. Ethiopia is a beautful country, with beautiful people!

It's fantastic that you had a layover in Ethiopia! I'm a big fan of your channel and would have loved to help you out if I'd known you were there. Ethiopia is a very camera-friendly country. There might be a bit of a language barrier since English isn't as common as in some other African countries. However, there are still plenty of people who speak it. Don't hesitate to take your time and chat with folks. In Amharic, you can greet someone by saying "salam" (sah-LAAM) for hello. To ask "how much is this?" you can say "sint new?" (seent new).

Nice one Czech, 8 hours isn't a long time to see sights of Addis Ababa. I have flown with Ethiopian Airlines from London to Nigeria a couple of times. They have one of the best airlines on the continent and possibly the only airline with a dreamliner. Bole Airport is a very busy hub. The people are somewhat reserved, it may be the political situation, but once trust is established. They can be quite open. Beautiful people and country with a lot of history dating back to biblical times.
Kenya Airways uses the dreamliner for long haul flights. Europe and USA
Does Kenya airways offer complimentary hotel?
I intentionally choose flights with long daytime layovers to visit new cities. This is a great way to explore if you have extra time.
Oh! Czech you have visited my hometown, Addis Ababa. I hope one day you will come and visit the rural part of the country

My guesthouse was very close to Zola when i was in Ethiopia in 2019. I ate there many times it was good, they had good food 👍

U just said Ethiopia was not colonized, so that meabs, they were not forced to learn no "masters" language! If u see one who knows a few words in english, then they may have learned it on their own or have travelled outside the country for a while. U are supposed to appreciate their languages too, u have the phone in your hand, use it bro! U dont even have to pronounce it well, or if they can read, u can show it to them to read and answer! I saw u do it succesfully one time in the market in kenya, when the boys had to look it up on their phones to tell u where u were trying to go, after u tortured them for a long time, haha. easy! i fly ethiopia airlines all the time, my wife and kids are in africa so i visit them alot. january i missed my connecting flight when i was in ethiopia so they put me up probably in the same hotel as yours with 3 free meals because i was there overnight and yes i got the free shuttle treatment also. the hotel was a 5 star hotel and the food was awesome. the hotel staff mostly women was beautiful and helpful and i also did a walk around town while i was there, there culture is rich and the people was very friendly to this lost american lol.
