Mufti Ismail Menk of Zimbabwe is a motivational speaker who has travelled around the world. He lectures at Darul Ilm in Harare and is also the Imam of the Arcadia Masjid.
His approach has been well received internationally by young and the old and his eloquent style being simple to understand, dynamic, clear and to the point.
Ismail Musa Menk was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. His family originally hails from Gujarat, India. Each year he spends the month of Ramadhaan with a far off community explaining the Qur'aanic teachings. This work is all done solely for the Pleasure of the Almighty without any monetary gain or remuneration involved.
I am a newly revert as a Muslim, I am a Christian since birh, I am now 45 yrs old at my age I am overwhelmed that I seek my refugee to Allah, words of wisdom that I never heard alhamdullellah I'm so bless to hear them

What I learnt from this very educational video:
1) Dua
2) Know who you are 3:40
3) children are a gift
4) Parenting = dependent => independent adult
5) Parents are role models to children
6) Teach your child in the best manner so it will comtinue to do good practices when parents slowly lose control over children
7) Maintain a good balance of education and deen
8) marriage is the decision of a child with the guidance of the parents
9) It is beneficial for children to have open discussions (about marriage) from an early age
10) Understanding Children 6 A's:
Attention (listen+ notice), give children a lot of attention so that you have a big say in the child's life, otherwise a little bit of external attention might divert the child onto the wrong paths. Give equal attention across children
Acceptance
Approval especially verbally. Also, some expectations are just words e.g. my child will be hafiz, business owner etc. Mothers who listened to quran during pregnancy have a much more calmer child.
Appreciation
Affection
Authority - Rules
11) Confide in your children, show your human side.
12) Listen, take opinions
13) Discipline is different to Punishment, physical means can be classed as outdates and other ways should be prioritised such as points system. Use polite words and reward children for their polite words.
14) Resourcefulness - Cooperation, children copy behaviour of parents e.g. the way one spouse treats the other
15) successful parents minimise their own issues, draw lines between parents and spouses
16) conflict management, reject the child's behaviour but not the person
17) to be fair, but firm. Implement fair rules
18) positive living, a child can say anything to you, request rather than command, show physical affection to children too, show love in different ways
19) Don't give children everything they want, rather bargain for

I accidentally clicked the video. At first though, I had caution. I guess American media leaves it's effect. I kept my mind open though. I know very bad impressions have been made labeling negatively against Islam. I don't mean to offend when I say I have no interest in your beliefs. With that said, I respect your ability to hold your own beliefs and wish you the best in life. It's good to see the positive side of Islam, which I feel I have seen in this video.
thank you for understanding. the media pot rays islam negatively a lot, this is not to say that there are no bad muslims. however media picks them up and put them up as good muslims. you said you don't have any interest. however if you can please do some research on islam from Islamic websites.

nicely said thankyou, there is no negative side to islam and the Quran itself, if a negative is perceived, it is from a human perspective and thought... including ethnic, cultural traditions or influences and political strains on people. so in theory a creator who makes rules knowing all the outcomes should not make any rules that will negatively affect society or a humans prosperity. the media associate many things to islam disregarding events that’s push people into negative actions (ISIS etc..) and the media also fail to demonstrate the actual religious teachings regarding those negative human actions that are condemned in the Quran.

I can see myself in the exemple of intelligence, I was very dull at school at primary school but with the Grace of Allah I’m now always between the best students at school .

Beat the shit out of them! If they misbehave and wont obey? Beat the shit out of them until they grow up and realized they are wrong! They need to recognize authority. Thats the problem these days, kids dont obey parents anymore! You cannot descipline you kids just for talking nice to them, they will just laugh at you! Kids these generation are pussies! They need to be disciplined the hardway if necessary to be tough in life.

I'm not a parent yet but when I discover the topic "Islamic Parenting" I didn't hesitate to tune in. It's worth it because I can apply it in my life being an Aunt/God Mother in a present and When the time that I can be a great Ummi, Inshallah. May Allah grants us wisdom to have a source of good foundation according to Allah's teachings and will.
MashAllah you are a great role model I wish all men & fathers be like you and know how to treat their kids and wives with respect and love.. This was my favorite lecture may Allah give you lots of kheir in this life and after. Especially fathers should try to be very close to their daughters! A lot of fathers these days are not educated to be a good father

When you listen to Mufti Musa Ismail Menk he sets such a high bar masha'Allah.
AAAHHH YESSS i love him for the sake of Allah for teaching Attachment relationships and positive discipline to everyone without them knowing lol alhamdulillah that he and nouman Ali have come to understand the importance of Attachment relationships with parents instead of consoles tv or friends. And the importance of discipline in the right way in the long term they will not go behind the back of parents and to be balanced that they have independence within limits. Loving but firm. Consistency. I love how ge basically went through 3 whole books on these topics in one hour and half. Muslim parents need this lecture. In sha Allah. Allah forgive our parents and us as children and give us strength of patience. In sha Allah we will have a better relationship.

I am concerned about my children. Two boys and two girls. They are in their thirties and the boys are dependent upon their father. I tried so hard to teach them to be grown and independent but now they are with him. Please pray with me for them🙏

A man of value, he teachings based on realities. The knowledge, instilling are on beliefs and values about life ( facts and truth) and how these help us in our day to day activities with our families and other people( muslims and non muslims) is a plus for him and if we all adhering to them, these will make this world and hereafter perfect for us as ordained by Allah (SWT).
