Had my KMA130 for over 2 years, it's enabled me to cut big hedges for another 3 years, after 17 years on petrol 4mix. Its a game changer.
Great review very honest .i have myown small gardening business and for now im sticking with petrol as just dont feel battery power is there yet.
Been loving all my stihl battery equipment the past year!❤. So glad I went with the 130R instead of the 135R. Having the battery onboard makes the 135R so much heavier and bulky. Curious how do you compare the two bits of kit? Cheers!😊

HI, short question, i have also KM 100R, which has a lock button for continuous operation, in this case KMA 130R, doesn't have, or i don't no how to use it?
@@nincsovicszoltan no mate your right it dosent have the lock button probably as it design for multiple different attachments and uses.
@@MrGardener18 yeah, but also KM 100R, it's designed for multiple attachment, in essence they are the same thing, only difference is that one it's battery powered and the other its on gas.
Just wrap tape around the deadman safety switch. I did that and it runs exactly like a gas powered engine now. Although i too just use it as a backup because it's a bit clunky with the cord.
I will try the tape trick anything to make it more useful happy for the tip.

Munyan Sébastien hi I haven't yet but I've mainly been using it for strimming at the moment and I don't find the handle to bad for strimming I will be trying it out when I start hedge cutting again.
Great review! I also have this tool and would agree with you regarding the handle... it takes a bit of getting used to!
Battery wise- I use the AR3000 Backpack and find it gives relatively good usage times, but this obviously depends on the attachment!

Great review. The ap300 battery 3ah? I’ve got husky dedicated cordless tools. Their strimmer with 4ah has from my experience over an hour run time. That was using it full throttle for a while also. The hedgecutter with same 4ah battery lasts over half a day
Run time dose seem to be a bit down on some other tools but I should say the run times are full throttle on and so you can get mornings work out of them.

Hi, Owned this too, Had it for about a month and sold it on because I experienced the same problem with the handle, it's an awful design. I have a Stihl HSA94 R 30'' hedge trimmer which I use with the AP 300 battery and waist belt pouch, Which I think it good. However The cable get's in the way when I am using the trimmer in corners and right where I am flush to the hedge. I wish Stihl would make a 30'' hedge trimmer with the slot in battery and rotating handle. And a Combi engine that has a slot in battery. I'm thinking about buying the Ego Pro 56V Combi tool. Specifically for hedge trimming and pole pruning.
I been looking to get a hsa94 apart from the cables problems would you recommend it?
@@MrGardener18 It's Very Good, if you have wide or tall hedges where you can cut in 1 sweep action, However I prefer my old HSA86 25'' which I sold to buy this. I have just listed the HSA94 R on ebay uk last night, I've used it less than 10 times in my own garden. Start price £350 and ends this Sunday. Parcel Force 48 Tracked delivery if your interested? @@MrGardener18 I've only used it on our Yew hedge for cutting back 1 years growth, and because it has larger spaces in between the teeth, it doesn't get snagged, like the HSA56 compact hedge trimmer I used to own. I think where I went wrong, I had the AP300 Battery in the HSA86 which made it too heavy to use. What I will do now is get a HSA86 and buy an AP100 battery to lower the weight. I've been using the Stihl cordless machines since April 2015, I never use a petrol hedge trimmer again! :) I also owned the HLA65 + HLA85, along with the AP300 battery gave me a run time of 3 hours. I stupidly sold both the HLA 65 & HLA85 to buy the KMA 130R with 145 degree hedge trimmer with 1metre extension shaft. Hence why I am looking at buying the Ego Power Plus 56v multi tool with onboard battery, pole pruner, hedge trimmer and extension attachment. Just having a hard time looking up run times for the Ego.
great review i have have my own garden maintenance business and have been mumming and arring for months and months , great great review . such a shame they missed the mark by a bit . like you say a back up until for a pro user but not your go to . thanks for saving me making a mistake. have you seen the pellenc machines . pretty good but costs are mega high.
Thanks glad I could help definitely if your pro it's not quite good enough though they are getting there. I have used the pellenc battery hedge cutter before when I volunteer at the national trust and I was very impressed but fare to expensive for my budget

There excellent, I use mine with the kma130r for strimming and the bga 100. Very rarely use petrol anymore, no mixing two stroke no engine maintenance and no pulling to start plus no noise or smell. The customers will love you for it!!
Current run times of the Stihl ARE NOT limited to current technology it's limited to what Stihl offers. With current tech you can run this equipment for 8-12 hours and recharge in 15 - 20 minutes. Stihl just does not offer it.
I will have to take you word for that it would be wonderful if they could put that sort of performance into their battery.
@@MrGardener18 No!! Don't take my word for it. Lithium Titanium Oxide Battery last 25 - 80 years depending on how you use them. Lithium Titanium Oxide Batteries can charge at a rate of 10C, This equates to 15-20 min charge times. The biggest battery Stihl offers is not that big about 20% smaller than EGO's backpack battery but these batteries can easily be made 2X the size and a slightly higher voltage for a 300% performance gain. Yes the weight of the backpack will go up from 18 pounds to 27+ pounds but big commercial backpack blowers are already 24+ pounds. Or they can make a similar sized battery pack to the current Stihl and make a large self contained battery powered charger for the backpack battery so it can charge in between jobs and then charge the self contained unit once you get home.

You can buy a stihl ap3000 battery if you have the money and need.
It's not an engine 🤦🏼♂️
