I need an RB44 now - it's like an old school Renault Trafic on steroids - I bet the French military employed these things? Thanks for another great video Ken 👍
The RB44 may not be the biggest of vehicles, but it shows that you don't need a massive machine every time. Size isn't everything when it comes to recovery work, as is shown here. it's a powerful little workhorse for it's size !!
@@kensjobs2237 They were bought to replace the Land Rover '1 ton' vehicle, a military special. However the RB has its limitations, notably its weight for under slinging by helicopter. Another problem if my memory serves me right is that its principal role is to tow a howitzer whose wheels are identical to the LR, hence a separate spare wheel isn't required. The RB has different wheels, where do you carry the 2nd spare? I seem to remember that trials also showed up a tendency to loose steering control under heavy braking.
That RB44, is a tough little machine! You could see where you had problems.
Hi mate, yea tough as old boots lol 👢💪
