Hey Anthony! I grew up in Washington and am coming back for a visit in two weeks. I really need helping finding a road or confirming this is the route that my Grandfather took us on from Seattle to Yakima when the seasons allowed. Maybe it is the 410 but I have googled earth'ed the 410 and do not see the crystal clear small lakes on the side of the roads that I remember. Can you please help me. This is a bucket list item to find this road of my childhood and I am bringing my own daughter and her husband with me too. I really need them to see the crystal clear waters of Washington. Please please please and thank you for your post!

Thanks for your comment. I have driven most of that route, and it is indeed beautiful. The problem for me is the length of the route and the fact that it's a 6 hour drive to Auburn from where I live. Most of these driving videos require a number of takes in order to get enough footage that isn't crowded with other vehicles. (Nobody wants to watch a video where you're stuck behind a truck or a line of cars on a narrow two-lane road.) I generally like to stick to shorter routes that I can drive multiple times in a day.

I’ve lived in puyallup 13 years and never gone past Greenwater on 410. Maybe next summer I’ll take this road. Looks beautiful. You picked a great day for this drive.

Thank you. It's one of my favorite drives. I had to drive up there five or six times over the course of two weeks before the conditions were "just right" for that video. Being very early in the morning also helped. Thanks for watching!

Is it correct that 410 can be driven in its entirety without having to pay an entrance fee for Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park?

Yes, that's correct. 410 skirts the northern boundary of Mt. Rainier Nat. Park.

Beyond beautiful! Are you showing selected section of the four mile long Chinook Pass or of the whole Chinook Drive? Did you drive eastbound?

Thanks for your comment! I was driving westbound in the video, although I think the eastbound drive is a bit more spectacular for some reason. I shot the video going both ways, but used this cut because I liked the way the morning sun crowned Yakima Peak and Mt. Rainier in gold. The video itself was edited down. Although the UA-cam algorithm prefers longer videos, I found that people generally stop watching after about five minutes, so I try to keep my videos at around that length. Thanks for watching!

@@AnthonyUbelhor I prefer the westbound drive since its easier to see rainier as the driver. However, the eastbound drive is a lot more fun going uphill on those curves
