- Citizen is aTamil film directed by Saravana Subbiah and produced by S. S. Chakravarthy. The film features Ajith Kumar in the lead role as a social activist with Vasundhara Das, Meena and Nagma playing supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Deva, whilst cinematography was handled by Ravi K. Chandran. The Hindu stated "Not everything about Citizen is plausible, nevertheless kudos to the creator's hard work.Upon release Citizen received positive reviews from critics and was successful and completed 100-day run at the box office, justifying a relatively large budget of ₹8 crore. The music was composed by Deva. All lyrics were penned by Vairamuthu. The song "I Like You" is copied from "I Feel Lonely" by German singer Sasha, and parts of "Pookara Pookara" were copied from "Take a Chance on Me" by ABBA.

I'm a Vijay fan but I love ajith's lot of old movie like citizen, billa, etc. He is perfect actor in this kind of serious and emotional charactor movie. Thank you very much for who directed this movie its perfect and there is no more boring part to skip like 2020s movie . Only I skip love songs and finally bright perfect ending with nice song. Thank you again

Totally not agree with you, I used to like the old ajith and not anymore nowadays ajith movies look like vijay movie (except pokkiri), there is no more stories in movies, only fight, love story and songs or a preparation for a future political entry like what MGR does ... Few movie which had real stories doesn't become blockbuster nowdays.

My one of the most most most favourite film...
I was 7 when this movie released. My whole family used to watch it in video CD player. Was such a good memory till date. Even now in 2022 after 21yrs I love to watch this. I knew there are many more people love to watch this movie. I've no idea such script no more in film industry nowdays! All about glorifying own hero status and mass showing up on screen 😑 which is really got me fed up
