as an Australian fan, I'd like to see us resume playing against Bangladesh in Tests. Those are still tough series when they're played over there. ...and back here they're a good opportunity to bring test cricket to smaller cities.
I can tell u why as an Aussie Gavaskar wasn't invited up with AB to present the trophy to Pat Cummins & it was for exactly what India's PM did to Pat Cummins in the ODI World Cup Prezzo of the trophy...tit for tat & immature yes, long memories yes & no matter what us Aussies will always get U back, we as a nation were disgusted in PM Modi & his blatant & rude performance
"Why didn't they invite Gavaskar?!?" They literally did. The plan was: If India win, Gavaskar presents the trophy. If Aus win, Border presents. Everyone knew this including Gavaskar. Why are we pretending this is drama?? What would Gavaskar do on the stage anyway? Hang on the side as the Aussies celebrate? What a stupid conversation.
They did. I have it on good authority from a family member who works for host broadcaster - she said the chat around the network was that Gav was salty they lost actually, so he kicked up a stink after as if he didnt know - very strange and petty behavior. He goes down a couple of rungs in my eyes
The other country are not committed them self to play the longer version of the game instead there just running down money its a shame for us that has the love for test cricket which is the best cricket😢
Apart from Ben Duckett, Harry Brook and Joe Root, nobody else has been consistent over the last few years with the bat. So they’ve got three batsmen they rely on for runs which isn’t great at all.
The English cricket crowd are extremely arrogant. It's a private school game there so they're typically elitist. I agree that not have Sunny present the trophy was a massive oversight, but not sure they needed to say it like that... obviously someone didn't use their brain.
he's South African. they do condescension and arrogance even worse than the English. Once again reinforcing my theory that anyone who wears red coloured frames has issues.
Konstas wasn't trying to be David Warner. He was just wasting some time. He's already admitted it was a miscalculation to wind up Bumrah. Remember he got shoulder charged by Kohli at the MCG and Kohli pretty much escaped any serious sanction. No controversy there though. We all know where the money comes from in 2025.
Bring back India vs Pakistan test series. Make it a 3 test format and play them in England, Australia, South Africa, Caribbean (Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana) and Middle East. It is a travesty that the biggest rivalry in test cricket has not been allowed to be played due to geopolitical tensions. It is also a travesty that that great Indian players such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have never had a chance to play against their Pakistani rivals in Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi. I bet in no time that the Pakistani and Indian government would eventually find a way to play host due to pressure and envy from home. Bonus points for test victories away from home or games won by an innings. Allow 2 substitute replacements who can come in and bat/bowl during the 2nd innings. Injuries are common these days due to the volume of matches being played by some cricketers in all 3 (sometimes 4) formats. Thus injuries more likely and 11 vs 11 should be always be the case in the 5 day format. Play certain one-off test matches on neutral soil especially where the host country has a large diaspora of those playing nations. E.g. West Indies "hosting" Bangladesh at the Oval in South London is bound to generate thousands more spectators than if it is played at Sabina Park, Jamaica where just a few hundred fans will turn up. 20% of the gate receipts alone from such a test match would benefit the West Indian finances greatly. Allow the players to transfer just once from one test playing team to another. We have seen certain nations benefit from a sophisticated scouting programme where they recruit young cricketers from other smaller nations to develop them. Only then for those cricketers to switch allegiances. England being the biggest beneficiary and the West Indies the largest losers. Resources means the smaller nation cannot compete with what the likes of England can offer. Some play a handful of games only then to be dropped/ignored for the rest of their international career. We know in some sports certain countries select the player just a few times in order to prevent them playing for their country of birth. A transfer window each year would generate media interest and excite/outrage fans. In rugby union we have seen New Zealand, Australia plus Great Britain and Ireland benefit greatly from tapping players for their national team from Pacific Islands such as Fiji and Western Samoa. At least the rugby union authorities have now allowed those Pacific Island players to switch and play for their country of birth. In netball top players have switched allegiances with zero fuss. Given the depth of cricketing talent in the bigger nations there could be India A, South Africa A, England A teams added to the test format. One off games rather than test series to begin with plus A teams must only play against a nations top team But for me bringing back the Pakistan vs India test series would be the biggest injection for the game.
Will be very funny when we don't play India or Australia for 10 years due to being in the second tier after Stokes has spent his whole captaincy saying every other series doesn't matter and that he only cares about the big series. Will be karma.

If the big 3 play each other more often it will get boring and people will stop watching
Well it is boring watching other teams anyway
True
45:41 Is it worth stating that the whole thing was started by the 37 yo Kohli’s appalling action in the first place?

Promotion and Relegation should be in Franchisee T20 Leagues not in a prestigious format like Test
I heard Cricket Australia pushed to let Kohli play in case India replaced him with someone who would actually score runs.

because its fun to look down on Australia... Manthorp sounding like a bit of a dope here
@@battlestarbucktica3868 Yep his commentary was hopelessly biased all summer, carried on like a pork chop, shouldn't invite him back at all next tour.

England absolutely do not have a better batting lineup lol. Batting averages exist Harmy.

"Australia is... not a subtle country". Are English people capable of talking about former colony countries without being condescending and arrogant?

@@nimai4What exactly is subtle about the Barmy Army? England, a nation completely incapable of any self-reflection.

42:06 McDonald was clearly having a jab at the ICC for failing to pull Indian players into line…not really about Konstas at all
If 2 tier test cricket really happens then test cricket in tier 2 countries will just die.

SAM KONSTAS VS INDIA
result AUSTRALIA WIN
India needs to get test specific batters , make them only play test and not t20.
Or else they are in for bigger trouble
India vs England white ball series 🔥
England is apart of the big 3?? They are barely above minnows
Host sounds AI generated 😂
