It’s actually diverted down to a being who isn’t responsible for plagues, violence, or suffering. He actually is there to end that for a soul. Give them peace from the suffering they endured. The Black Plague can’t be pinned on Death, and Death - who may be the fourth horseman of the apocalypse - only gathered the dead souls caused by the three others; War, Famine, and Pestilence. He didn’t really do any damage in the apocalypse. He’s pretty much the balance and equivalence of a maid cleaning someone else’s house. (Dunno if that’s the proper example... Close enough.) There are various cultures, but the scythe Gods of Death used actually was used to ward off evil spirits. Stupid design to human thinking it’s not much affective in a fight, it’s slashing was actually done where you get someone in the slashing moment, then pull towards you. A grab and pull if you may. The blade had to be so sharp it can cut through a body in one pull. Same method they used to harvest grain (It’s original use.) To finish... Nice to see how it can be made and possibly done better. Will be sure to remember that.
One benefit the grim reaper's scythe has is that it can pierce using centrifugal force rather than thrusting force. I would probably use an overhead swing to hit people more consistently.

To make a scythe practical you would need a longer blade on it not only that but the curve of the blade does has to be further back. Instead the blade “coming out” of pole it have to be almost on top so that both sides have a sharp point and scythe can be swung in multiple directions. I love scythes the grim reaper type is not really effective but there are mods to it that make it a deadly weapon when you can use it properly

as for your welding, there are a number of things that you could be doing wrong, might have the wrong polarity, could be holding to long of an arc, could be traveling along the joint to fast, SMAW is one of the forms of welding that requires a lot of practice, I wouldn't be able to tell you what your doing wrong since im not there and im not completely sure what your working with, practice makes progress
That is true, but if you want your welds to look better and be stronger there are plenty of videos on here that would be able to help you out, watch a couple for some tips and get some scrap plate and get some hood time would help a lot, I don't know if it's something you would ever do in the future but if you were going to build a go-kart or something like that you would feel a lot more comfortable with it if you knew your welds were strong

If you manage to run past someone you can hook them and rip through that way or if the ground is off set you can use the off set to hook higher or lower wear something like a sword would have less effect

I've been practicing sighting with a scythe for years cus I'm a weeb that also loves martial arts. And it's too long, it's a great weapon if you use it as a staff. It actually is a really good weapon since it's impossible to block with a different weapon. You need a very good shield or you have to step back. Since it's just a staff with a blade, if somebody comes close to you, you have the rest of the pole to defend yourself or attack

It definitely depends on the user, but putting an experienced swordsman vs experienced scythe wielder; my money is on the sword. Scythe is an unwieldy weapon despite having more range. It’s way too difficult to land a killing blow with a 90degree scythe.

What if you were to sharpen both sides? Sure you'd have to aim right, but it would be a nasty cut and you'd have a real healthy distance. You'd probably have to rework areas of the blade ( i ain't a smith, I know jack about shit), but it seems plausible.
