The thing I love about Cletus is that he gets a c8 and it's not nearly the focus of his channel for months. It's just something he does on the side. Other channels it's c8 delivery, c 8 intake, c8 exhaust c8 turbos c8 wheels, c8 tires, c8 wrap, c8 blah blah blah.

I came to the comments looking for this, what an incredible man, buys a brand new C8 and wants everyone else to drive it so they can share the experience. Cleeter is a genuine man and it makes me proud that he's representing this country so well.

Do you guys not realize that it's just 'a car' for him. At his income level, a new vette is no big deal and he probably writes it off as a business expense to boot. Not saying he's not a nice guy or generous but it's just another car in the fleet for him and he's looking for ways to make even more money off it.

Emilia Hartford did a huge burn out with her c8 when it was stock. There is some kind of procedure to do. Check out her channel before she installed the Twin turbos.
They did it when they did the curated day with it pre-release. Go back and check that out.
@Texas Outlaw Which sort of nailed it for me on why I didn't like that new c8. Besides a pretty boring looking drive as the car / computer does all the work, gotta jump through hoops to have the car allow you to do what you want. There is hope they remove all that gatekeeper rubbish and fully replace the systems with one where they tell the car what they want to do.
@Texas Outlaw The most I have is abs. No traction control or anything. I tell the big mouths that go on about how fast they corner to turn their TC off and then see what their car is really like. They never do. lol. Anyway, mustang does linelock from factory. It's like they want the c8 to be only owned by old guys going to cars and coffee.

Those rims are LEGIT. Classic muscle car vibe with the exotic shape of a 'supercar'. the blue on black scheme seals it nice. Maybe paint the rotors blue for just a flash of color. I'd suggest some underbody LEDs but I don't imagine that's yer style Cleeter.
I love the big tire look. Even big tire front and rear would look sick IMO. Reminds me of an F1 car. F1 is going low profile soon, but they were meaty AF for so long it's really an iconic look.

The looks of it, but iam European, the C8 dont need mods, looks Good, engeine on the right side of the driver, and it looks like the new drag slippers put the power down to the ground properly, so Yea why change the first Ever Corvette that is built in the right way?
I rely hope the C8 aint a plastic toy as the other American cars is, cuz this looks promising.
I do have some American favorit cars, but American cars is not in my top list, but hey if this is the begining of a change for American cars it is going to be a fun future for sure!
Usuly i only buy American then it comes to marin motors, like Mercury, not cars, might be a change now with this C8 for American cars... :)
@@NiclasHorn It definitely needs about another 600hp to really wake it up. Like Cleetus says, it's just not worth doing to only get 700hp. He wants to be in the 1000+ hp range. It's definitely weird having the engine in the rear of an American made vehicle, but it does help with the weight transfer on the drag strip.
Chris Williams tuning is available no one has be able to get a good dyno pull because other parts keep breaking that’s why the axles have been changed out all ready cleetus said the reasons on his last video
@@jozua715 No tuning isn't available on the C8. GM has the ECU locked and until someone hacks it nobody can tune them. It took over a year for the C7 to finally get hacked.
I know you would never do it, but the best looking wheel set up is old school. Chrome reverse rims with baby moons! 2:40 brain fart. Wow, that blue looks so much darker in the shop.
keep the skinnys for race nights, they'll fit in the trunk, put the same style wheel normal width for daily driving. Leave the drag radials on the back unless you're gonna road race.
You have to put more transmission fluid inside of the C8 before trying to do a burn out

The C8 really seems more like a road course car, i would be happy to see you guys put it into some autocross, road racing, and of course chase some times at the freedom factory.
I'd love to see them road course it!! My best friend courses his zl1 1le and I find it entertaining to watch each lap trying to beat each time before.

@@beanzz801 with that said, i am certain that HP Tuners will have the data they need to tune the C8 any day now, they are really good about that. so i expect to see the C8 tuned and modded to the highest level eventually. would love to see it set up for the kinds of racing where you need to steer and brake, rather than straight line drag racing. it would be a great addition to the channel and i think the C8 is the right corvette to do that kind of racing.

The first company to release software or an ECU for this thing would sell tons of them and be featured on damn near every car youtube channel there is, no way will it take even 6 months, let alone a year.
He's already got 2 1000hp+ corvettes there's no need for him to rush into modding the C8 when it can't be tuned properly yet I think waiting is definitely the best idea

I love how all the youtubers who rushed out and twin turboed their c8s even though they cant tune them and the real car guys say, i think we will wait till we can actually use the boost.
That shows you the difference. Cleet is a actual racer and a decent tuner in his own right. He understands the limitations and what it takes to go fast RELIABLY. He has two cars that can do sub 8 with out too many issues. He knows who to call ( Kevin for Holley / Jeremy for HP tuners) for tuning and who to talk to about engines and transmissions. I am pretty sure there was a lot of conversations about this and the consensus was not to push it. Streetspeed was lucky. But he will sell the car in a month and be on to something new. Emelia Hartford is hamfisted like whistling diesel. They don't care about the vehicles. They are only in it for the views and the money. They both go thru vehicles very fast. Cleet has had Leroy for years. Ruby for a while. And vehicles leave but don't go far. When he changes his mind on something he just changes the vehicle and does not throw it out .

That C8 is gorgeous. You are right about the skinny fronts though. Not a fan! A nice 8-10” would look way better. 2.9 0-60 is insane for only 400 engine HP. Definitely need to wait on the crazy mods until more C8s hit the streets. I can’t wait to see what you and James do to it....

Drag look is cool for just that. The stock tires and wheels speak well for the Corvette designers and I prefer that appearance. They did well! Amazing car!
Cleets it's widely known that GM has the ecu heavily limiting torque output during break-in. Tadge described it in relative detail to Jay Leno when they were test driving the convertible. Think he said it was reduced by about 15%.
