I was unable to weave for a year but now I can finally get started again. I really liked your basic getting started weaving because it reminded me of some things I forgot I had to do. The waste yarn at the start is used to separate out the warp threads so they are evenly spaced before you start weaving your project. I hope that helps answer your question. Happy weaving!
