    I am new to weaving very new. I don’t even own a machine. What is the need for biased triangle weaving?

    • @JeneratedDesigns
      @JeneratedDesigns 7 днів тому

      A triangle loom is needed for this type of weaving. Try looking at Kiss Looms, they have triangle looms, rectangle looms and more

    I am a machine knitter and I understand waste yarn. I just wanted to comment that I love the waste yarn for the texture that it brings. I think you could do a whole project with that chunky yarn as the weft and keeping your original work as the warp. You’ve only just started doing the actual weaving so I’m not even commenting about what you are weaving, I’m just admiring the chunky yard.

      @JeneratedDesigns 7 днів тому

      You are correct. You can have a lot of fun with different textured yarn. But if you want to weave an even set you use the same weight yarn as your warp. Thicker yarn can create a more dense less flexible fabric which can be great for making things like bags.

    How wide is the panels? Thanks❤

    • @JeneratedDesigns
      @JeneratedDesigns 9 днів тому

      I don't remember the exact measurements, but about 26" wide. I would suggest measuring from your shoulder to your waist, then add 10% for shrinkage on the loom. If you have a small loom you can weave smaller panels and sew them together to get the width you need.

    I have a question when pulling through the holes: of the 2 strings you have,does it matter which one,right or left, you pull through the hole? Looks as if you're grasping the left one each time. Thank you sooo much for this video. New subscriber now.

    • @JeneratedDesigns
      @JeneratedDesigns 25 днів тому

      It doesn't matter, I try to keep them in order so they don't get twisted, but if they do get twisted it doesn't affect your weaving.

      As far as I know yes, but play around with different heddle sequences to see if you can make a different pattern. There's a design program for ridge heddle loom at "Not so rigid weaver". And you can use the free demo.

    Very helpful video!! 😊 When pulling the yarn through the holes - did you always take the same colour? Dark trough hole, light through slot? I tried to figure that out but couldn't quite follow...Thank you!

    • @JeneratedDesigns
      @JeneratedDesigns 3 місяці тому

      No, you need to thread 2 dark, 2 light. When direct warping the slots you alternate dark, light, dark light. Then when threading the heddle you need to have dark slot, dark hole, light slot, light hole, repeat. I hope that explanation helps.

    WHY ARE ALL OF YOU PUTTING HUGE YARN AT START?

    • @JeneratedDesigns
      @JeneratedDesigns 3 місяці тому

      The waste yarn at the start is used to separate out the warp threads so they are evenly spaced before you start weaving your project. I hope that helps answer your question. Happy weaving!

    How do you keep the twist in the plarn? I’ve worked with fibers before, but I imagine plarn can’t just be relied on to stay twisted

    • @JeneratedDesigns
      @JeneratedDesigns 3 місяці тому

      I have not had a problem with it holding twist. I always ply 2 strands together, I'm not sure a single ply would hold up as well.

I usually crochet around the edges of my shawls, would the bias work with a crocheted edge? Or would the crocheted edge inhibit the stretch or does it even matter??

    Is the yarn comfortable if you made it into say a scarf or gloves?

    • @JeneratedDesigns

      No, the plastic yarn that is produced is not soft. It's great for making outdoor rugs, and mats

    • @XatxiFly
      @XatxiFly 2 місяці тому

      Plastic will also insulate like hell but not breathe, so it would probably be very sweaty to wear, kind of like a cheap polyester Halloween costume except denser and more rigid. Probably not very comfortable on the skin, but it could have some cool costume uses.
