At some point these will be shipping in from Asia for much less. That said I really like this! Looks like incredible fun! The joy of surfing without all the waiting for a wave.
Need to get one.... but there is always this little voice at the back of my mind constantly asking” How can you be so sure that there is nothing else in the water😅”
First off the great thing about this setup is a new wing set (bigger or smaller) fairly cheap so you're only really married to the board size you choose. My general advice is if you're getting one efoil and it is ONLY for you get a smaller board like the 5'0" as you'll get good on it and not need any extra volume or swing weight. If you're going to be teaching others and letting them use it the 5'6" is a good compromise that will be easy for other to use and not too large for you. At 195lbs the 5'6" is more appropriate but power and skill makes up for everything so you can quickly master it with a few session and power...once you're on the foil the board makes no positive difference. So lets assume you go with a 5'0" setup for foil surfing the 200 wing is perfect and if you don't want to spring for the folding prop just remove the prop guard after you're proficient and you'll reduce drag to fairly easily surf etc. surfing on the 200 wing without prop guard you can expect easy 2hr + sessions...amazing! If you're looking to dominate smaller waves the 250 is good but careful because it is less of a all around wing and harder to use for an larger waves etc. The 170 is also fun in the surf but you'll need larger waves to surf...the 200 is nice because you can head way out and surf just the open swell all the way back to the beach. Using the 170 you will need to get into the mix more. Hope that helps...that is a very big question!
@@nic9972 You can get any wing you want on any board you just need to order through an affiliate like us. Either way they are both good wings. Many peeps get two wing sets as they are relatively inexpensive and make a HUGE difference in ride experience and battery run time. For instance the 200 will get about 20% more batt run time than the 170 on average. Glad to help. let me know if we can set this up for you.
Hi Pas, yes you can foil waves and swell its a lot of fun, I have done both the beach and tanker waves on it. but you have to put a little throttle on or buy the folding prop.
We are putting up our follow-up to this video today...1.5 years later. Still loving these foils with minimal problems or issues. If you're looking to save money on one they are doing a winter promotion for $2000 off right now. You can see this pricing on liftfoils.com using affiliate code: HK_2019_432
Hi Aaron, they are doing great we wash the salt off and that it for maintenance. and we get updates that just keep making them better and you can add any new wings or props and make it like a hole new board.
Freisme, thanks for the comment. Have you tried an efoil yourself? I cannot imagine comparing them to dirt bikes. We have literally had hundreds of new riders come out and get up foiling without one issue or someone even getting close to getting hurt. This is consistent across all of the other affiliates I know in the USA. We also teach kitefoil, wingfoil, surf/sup foil lessons and I cannot say the same for those sports...they are much riskier for sure. Definitely do not agree in terms of the efoil however. Again, thanks for commenting
Piece of shit for 12 grand just wait for the wind to come up. Four Grand and you’re out there for hours no moving parts no wires no stupid battery nothing to break these toys are only for rich boys oh mommy and daddy left the millions I don’t see this piece of shit lasting more than two years before you have to start replacingParts
Never going to be able to justify the price of these things unless you're planning on renting them out or live by a lake full time.

Still searching youtube for an efoil blade/foot entanglement, or any video of an efoil hitting a reef.
X'd out of video once I heard 12k for the board
Did he say $12,000......each? Seriousely, that's $11,400 more than I'd be willing to pay.
you gotta spend big to play big !
I’ll take 2 please
what size would you go for - weight 195lbs/6ft for ocean use?

@@midlerp Fantastic help. Thank you. Seems like the 5ft is sold with a 170 wing, not a 200. I am going to use it in the ocean off Venice Beach.

I would say for you the 5'6'' with the 250 front wing.
@@midlerp wow surprised as was thinking 5ft with a 200. Certainly you have far more insights on this than me :)
Can you ride swells or foil waves?

감사드립니다

How is it holdimg up over year. Etc.
They are in great shape still. No repairs or anything needed

$12,000 keep the board's $3,500 battery keep the battery. There's a reason why you don't see these around the beaches or the lake
We see them all over the place! Not just ours
@@midlerp They are really really cool. Definitely want one. But the price is ridiculous. That's a high end motorcycle.
Great review, thank you for sharing! Welcome to our channel for efoils and jetboards reviews!
3500$ for the battery? For this i can buy 5 ebike akkus and climb a mountain 6000m on highest power...
It cost like the cheapest full size family car.
Bring the price down... maybe like 1500
Sorry we don't dictate the pricing.
Definitely not “safe”…use caution…wear a helmet and an impact vest…at least for the first 40 rides…would you ride a dirt bike without helmet?…
