As a bassist myself, I have a message for my fellow offended bass players...if you're offended by his tee, you're the exact kind of shitty bass player he's talking about.
Stop being offended and get to practicing.
i as a bass player thoroughly enjoy wearing the shirt, that said it kinda makes me look like i think im better than everyone else
Richard Wildes Ikr? lol
I eat ass
There are so many ants in my eyes... What are these prices? I... I ... I hope they're not too low...
soad11dude I also can't feel pain but that falls by the wayside.
On the street, I was wearing the rule #2 shirt and I encountered someone that was also wearing one. After talking to him, turns out we were both bass players.
LOL
Jérémie Vaillancourt you both are my people
best story I've heard in this month
Gods
That's fucking awesome.
Bass playing is like sex to me.....It's a lot of fun even though I'm awful at it.
SAME
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is the best thing on the internet
As a bass player, I need this as a shirt. I will wear it to every gig
When sex is good, it's great!
When sex is bad? It's still pretty good :)
"All your Bass are belong to us"
Glenn, I laughed my fucking ass off on that one.
I love how much people get offended by Glenn's blatantly bassist jokes :)
Bassism is a serious issue affecting thousands everyday. #bassistlivesmatter
Stop Bassism!
+thegreatgambeeno wins the internet 😂😂😂😂😂
U sir... Have won
+thegreatgambeeno sounds better if shortened to #BASSlivesmatter
As a guitarist, im deeply offended by bassists
Triggered.
Hahahahahaha
As a bassist I are off ended by u being off ended by teh bassists. we is genius you are not you stupid head.
you no skillz. me have big skill. ok?
You big mad? Or little mad?
I'm offensive and i find this bass player
That could be roughly translated as, “I’m offensive and I found this little whiny bass player.”
Results may vary.
I always wear that shirt when I practice bass with my band. They fucking love it!
+Marco Oliva :)
SpectreSoundStudios are you Canadian if you are how are you ay
I'm canadian
I am a bassist as well, and I think what our mentally handicapped brethren fail to realize is that they are proving Glenn right. You see, Glenn is talking about the shit bassists, not the good ones.
I loved Adam's appearance at the beginning. I'm sure plenty of people will be confused by it and that's funny. Good job.
I are confused help pleas
Schnitzel Adam Neely is a really theory heavy UA-camr who also does bass based stuff... Beyond that, I don't know if his lil cameo in this vid was a joke or not
Waluigi chan he was wearing a rule #2 t-shirt. ‘‘Twas a joke
@@waluigichan4388 That was a joke man
@@da_schnitzel actually Adam Neely actually has recorded numerous times with Glenn
"The world does not care that you are offended" I want this on a T-shirt
We need more bassists to be like Cliff Burton or Geezer Butler, so then bassists wouldn't be useless cunts.
Congratulations. It's a shirt now.
DonpatchXD or on a mug....with a middle finger on the bottom
www.amazon.com/Nobody-Cares-That-Offended-T-shirt/dp/B07HRNHH56/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=care+offended+shirt&qid=1598906794&s=apparel&sr=1-14
Jesus Christ, "four eyes," now there's a relic I haven't heard in a while.
Adam Neely (the dude from the intro) is a really talented exception from Rule#2. Go check him out.
1665 - "I'm dying from the plague"
2016 - "I'M OFFENDED"
Didn't age well
"I'm offended"
"Too f*cking bad!!"
Golden. You, sir, are speaking everyone's mind. Well, at least the ones that use their brain.
Omg, I died at that second to last one! " I deliberately put our bassists string out of tune and wouldn't tell him which one " fucking class
"All your bass are belong to us!"
New t-shirts in studio please! :D :D :D
your high pitched voice sounds like Kyle from South Park
xSneaky Reptile yeah haha
He sounds more like Cartman to me.
I cant un-hear it now lol.
My main instrument is bass, I've played it since like 7th grade and loved it. am I the only one not offended by the shirt? I absolutely love it and would totally rock it, yeah I'm not an amazing bass player, but Im confident I am at least decent if not good. Love your videos man, keep it up. \m/
I fucking suck and I'm not offended.
Hey--me TOO!
same
Jacob Vasquez as a bassist, I am offended by bassists who are offended by that shirt
As a bass player, I want a shirt like that, would be f*cking awesome! Great videos man, keep it up!
Do you guys ship to Belgium?
+Gianni Coorman yes
Already ordering it :D, also taking the Shut up, you thin-stringed peasant!!!
Yes!
Hey man, I found your channel a few days ago and I subbed just to see a few more videos and determine if I'd like to stay around and I just have to say, every video I watch I respect you more and more. You intelligently talk about real issues in the music space and I can really appreciate your "no bullshit" attitude towards it. Thanks for the vids and keep up the great work!
Man... If I had a top 10 wish list, meeting Glenn would be up there for sure. I'd love to learn about what to do around the studio to be easy to work with and avoid stereotypes. That way, when I'm able to generate a career in music (I'm just a youngster), I'll be a dream to work with and I'll save tons of money on studio time from not fucking around. As a multi-instrumentalist (though mainly drums) I can see an unbiased perspective on almost all of your jokes and I can really appreciate your sense of humour. Watching videos like these have helped me to avoid falling into stereotypes which, I can tell, has helped me be a more respectable musician and helped people take me more seriously at a younger age. Keep it up Glenn, you are making a difference!
0:47 EVERY FUCKING RADICAL FEMINIST FROM 2013-PRESENT FUCKING DAY!
+The Gamer Punk yep. :)
Hey Spectre, all I gotta say is you rock man! I'm starting a band with some friends and in the process of researching I stumbled upon your videos and I'm learning a lot. I also showed my friend who's thinking about starting bass, so I figured this'd help him out. Have a great day!
"All your bass are belong to us."
And like that, I'm fucking floored.
as a bass player, i can confirm this shirt to be 100% accurate
Glenn as I'm a bass player,
I got to say I love the channel, and just have to say your shirts are awesome.
Dude I fucking love this. Keep doing what you do. I'm acquainted with a lot of phenomenal bassists and they all love what you're trying to spread. All love brother
Glenn, I've been watching your videos for a while now, and as a bassist I want to thank you for being so direct on what a bassist should be. You and your honest no bull shit feedback on the average bassist has inspired me to work harder at my craft. Thank you, and please keep the videos coming!
I'm currently one of those "kids playing in their room" and still new to playing bass, I wouldn't say I'm useless just inexperienced I've played for a little over a year and can hold my own but I still have a lot to learn, I personally love the rule number two shirt and the videos you make making fun of bassists.
+Skittles :)
Same here man
Saw Slipknot/Manson/of Mice and Men, on Wednesday. So good.
you want to learn, rule #2 doesnt apply to you....keep it on.
+alex kaplan Just bought tickets to slipknot Sept. 30th for my 18th birthday
I'm a bassist and I'm never offended by your bassist jokes coz I know that there only jokes
***They're.
You're not doing a great job displaying bass player intelligence.
Hi Glen, hope you see this i used to be a bass player and find your shirt brilliant and straight to the point! Thank you for what you are doing and rock on!! cheers, Brendon from Australia.
I've always loved how the pitch goes higher towards the end of long comments. It's a fantastic use for pitch correction.
All your bass are belong to us. LOL
That guy's angry rant where he misuses the word emulate in an attempt to sound intelligent is fucking priceless.
This was fantastic. I ACTUALLY came from Adam Neely's reference and spent all Saturday watching your videos. Great job and thank you!
Hey, Glenn.
I wanna say thanks for showcasing Drumatom! It's helped me A LOT as a small home studio owner. I used to use a lot of gating and noise reduction on snare and bass drum tracks since I record a lot of metal bands and DT has made the process much easier.
Damn, I thought POS is for Pioneer Of Sound. So many ppl tried to insult me and I just didn't get it... ;)
Oh my god i need the pitch correction shirt! Do you guys ship to the netherlands?
+Stan Hilt yes, of course!
Nice man! Definately picking it up now and I didn't expect a response this fast keep up the good work!
As a bass player. I love the jokes always makes me laugh, as I have to break them down to tell our drummer !
Great helpful videos. Keep them coming.
Question ?
How do you get your lead guitarist to stop noodling during rehearsals ?!?!
Actually I find all your videos greatly insightful and I'm not afraid to say I've learnt a lot for your "How to" videos in the studio. Love the content, got the t shirt on the way!
As a bassist who practices, I appreciate your shirt.
Tim Horton's coffe haha n___n
As a Bass player that practices what he needs to, and gets a setup check (including NEW strings) before going into any studio, I love your channel!
Last band I was in, we knocked out 8 tracks worth of drum and bass in the first session. We nailed it.
Again, I just posted this (or a much shorter version of this) on another video, but thank you. I've just started playing bass and honestly I think a lot of play don't know what they're doing and don't even care to try, which hurts someone like me who is looking to avoid falling into that stereotype. At lot of your advice is genuinely informative and motivating, you usually piss me off so badly that I get up start practicing, you know, when I'm not to busy singing whilst preening myself in the mirror.
Guitar players are a dime a dozen.
I sort of agree with that statement.
So are bad bass players.
Dimebag
says Abbath, a guitar player XD
+Reuben Ginsburg Abbath also played bass for a while, most people don't know that.
His reading comment voice is so much like Cartman. I love it!
Josh XM_Smith 😂😂😂😂
As a bass player, I love the Rule #2 t-shirt. You do a great job mixing humor with information, which really helps people learn because they are actually listening. When you get sick and tired of dealing with bassists in the studio you should become a motivational speaker.
Hey Glenn, the advertisement before this video was for a bass lesson app. Truly ironic. Great vid man. Greetings from Boston.
lemmy was a bassist, not a bass player random internet man
good vid glenn
also i agree with the very angry person (though not angry about it) that you should try out a proper SSS strat. i use strats for my solo work which is metal-ish and it works well but I'd like to see what you could do with it
Lemmy was Lemmy, a legend playing bass not a bass player. Big difference, he was larger than life at everything.
Lemmy always made fun of bass players. He was a guitarist first, but when hawkwind was missing a bass player on a gig he played bass for them and learned how to play it on stage with them. And then they let him in as a bassist.
I remember reading a quote from him in the 90s that said "I am not a bass player. I am a rhythm guitar player...on a bass."
Lemmy was one of a kind.Peace!
I used to be a bassist, then I learnt to play a musical instrument.
You have by far the best channel. I watch your videos all the time great information amazing laughs keep up the great work.
Some of those comments make me ashamed to be a bassist...
I have a bit of a theory as to why so many bassists gargle bag.
Because there are so few of us.
Shit, I remember being in High school and as soon as a couple of people found out I played bass I was getting invited over to someone's garage to play Maiden and Priest covers 4 times a week. EVERYONE played guitar, tons of people sang ( or at least thought they could ) and you didn't have to hunt very hard to find someone who played drums, but NOBODY else played bass.
What Glen said about most bands are formed by friends is very true, but if I was a bassist trying hard to join a band and every one I auditioned for told me I couldn't join because I sucked, you could bet I'd be home practicing my ass off so I didn't hear those particular words again.
In short, I believe that bands who have incompetent bass players must ALSO share some of the responsibility.
After all, they let him join the band in the first place.
If you agreed to let a guy join your band who you KNEW didn't cut the mustard, the blame is also yours.
Truth.
When I played bass, I tried to find the most challenging and interesting-sounding songs to practice with because I knew I was not going to get any better if I just played dum-dum-dum-dum crap like Nirvana et al.
One thing they never teach you in school is that the reason there are multiple different instruments in a band is because they all serve different functions in the music. The reason there are so few people who take up bass and actually get good at it is because the responsibility of being the actual beat, as opposed to just following it, compared with the notice you get in return for it, well, you just have to be pretty committed to it.
The band of friends I played in when I was about eighteen years old, I played the bass because I really enjoyed the shit out of the instrument and whilst I was no Billy Gould regardless of how much I wanted to be, I strove to get better every time I played. Too many people take up music with stars and fantasies in their eyes, rather than because they have anything they want to say.
No Use Great comment, thank you!
I cut my teeth learning to play Iron Maiden and Cliff Burton era Metallica songs. You can't ask for much better bassists to look up to as a beginner playing metal.
I also loved that you mentioned Billy Gould who is hands-down my favorite bassist of all time.
Nothing flashy about him, but air-tight, a distinct sound and always wrote the perfect bass line for the song.
I heard a great quote from somewhere... "It doesn't matter who the leader of the band is, the bass player is always boss."
Yes. It pretty much is the same thing that Glenn has been saying from the get-go. A great bass player practices, learns his material, and masters his songs. Thing is, even at his level, you get bands coming into the studio all the time who think they can just stuff around and have someone fix it for them.
Hey Glen! What do you think of the new Metallica song "Hardwired"? would love to hear your opinion! Greetings from Norway!
"really tough to tell them from hum buckers[sic]"
that guy has obviousley got like the worst hearing ever
also "how to not completely suck at bass guitar" in the outro.... nice move glenn
I laughed my ass off on the junior hacksaw comment, point is made hahah! love your channel, Glenn!
I've been a multi-instrumentalist for 20+ years and I love the shit you talk about each and every member of a band because I had all of those same issues with every band I've been in. Thanks for all the entertainment!
As a bass player I possess a rule #2 shirt.
Own it.
im a bassist but i completely understand the shirt and the jokes. i enjoy practicing bass, and i do quite a lot but most bassists dont give a fuck about the instrument and being good at playing it!
I don't know anything about music but I enjoy your channel so much! keep up the good work!
These videos actually have been inspiring to learn and practice my bass so I'm not the meat head in the studio and I actually know what I'm doing and they are also a great reminder to change my strings
is there any way of getting the t-shirts in the uk?
+Steve Falla nope! We ship worldwide
You said "nope" but then said "We ship worldwide". Is this some sort of sick joke?
+its firstgrade yes
My T took about 3 weeks to arrive in the UK with standard shipping.
I think that's what you would call a Sarcasm is. And Glenn Fricker has a lot of amazing ones. Great guy.
Yes he offends bassists. I'm a bassist, but im not offended because I know he's struggle. I am bassist that actully know what music is, what a bass is, how it works AND HOW TO FUCKING PRACTISE. When bassists get mad of this #2 shirt, its just sad...
I'll never grow tired of your videos Glen.
That video was how I was introduced to your channel.I'm not a fan of metal, however I love punk rock and I am learning how to play guitar to play such music. I found your shirt hilarious.
Every band I have been in has had a bass player who suggested a song for the following practice but when you get to this practice they don't know the song. Is this my experience only? Bastards too lazy to learn the song. lol
Guilty.......
Robert Glenn San Socie Shame on you! lol
Steven Lornie
I know......my bad. I am in a 12/8 recovery program for former Marching Band Members.Peace!
Can you get a shirt shitting on bad guitar players?
He shits on all bad musicians. Look at the 'how to not completely suck at rock guitar.'
He won't.
Maybe a Shut up you thin-stringed peasant one? That would be amazing
oh like "stop soloing and play some fucking music"
"The floor in your house must be filthy, because your sweeps are shit"
Hey Glenn! I've been following your channel for about a year now and think you rule the Internet.
Somebody has got to tell the new generation how music is made and that it actually takes PRACTICE to get better.
Keep up the good work!
Rasmus
Sweden.
Your criticism has made me realize minor mistakes, pushed me to become a better bass player, and reiterated what a huge role I have.
To the guy who put the instrument outta tune... On a gig... Dick move man
As a bass player that can tune his bass, i apporve of fucking with an idiot bass player to make him shit bricks
+Stan Hilt hmmmmm.... I always say messing with an idiot is beneath me. Plus it's a gig, it probably wasn't a paying gig but a gig nonetheless. Meh... It's a good thing I know resonation tuning, tho if my guitarist did that to me, I'd tune my bass up and decapitate the fucker with said bass
Yeah, its a bit of a dick move but if your bass player fucks up every god damn time he plays, i consider this due revenge
+Stan Hilt well of course. It's a good thing I'm no idiot bass player then!
+Stan Hilt well of course. It's a good thing I'm no idiot bass player then!
I'm a bass player. I don't think I'm God or anything, but I've written plenty songs in my band, I have the most knowledge in music (altough I struggle to improvise) and I'm trying. These jokes can put me down sometimes, because my bandmates use them REALLY often. I don't think that bass players deserve these jokes. I might be the only person, but I've encountered more stupid guitarists with ego higher than the Empire State Building than shitty bass players.
Bálint Schmidt as a bass player you offend me
xDD
If you're good, theres nothing to be offended by. Stop crying.
testimonial - I have played bass for over 30 years, gigged relentlessly with dozens of bands, recorded with many of those bands. I own a recording studio and worked live sound for over a decade along the way. I found Glenn last year while looking to improve my playing and bassmanship. I think he is hilarious and accurate. I am totally guilty of so many of Glenn's anecdotal observations about bass players, drummers, singers and guitarists, and so are most of the viewers of this channel - we have to be able to laugh at ourselves to become better players. I am better for finding SMG and Crew. I fucking LOVE this channel, this content, and the crew up north. Keep up the great work, you guys are killing it!
Hey glen, please excuse my grammar before I start I am a dislexic bassist which has me double screwed lol. I would like to thank you for all the advice you give out for free, your advice has made our bands up and coming album a whole load better the bass being no exception to this. As a result of the improvements I now have my first endorsement a new guitar maker who's gear and quality I totally believe in. Even before I started watching your videos I started having bass lessons and was met with the comments "why do you want lessons you can already play" or "it's a waist of money you know how to play". Well here's the middle finger to all those comments, since taking lessons I have moved onto 6 string, got an endorsement/limited run signature series's coming out in time for Christmas, none of which I would of got had I not aimed to get better I still have a long way to go and I really wish I learnt to play slap back on 4string but hey if it was easy it would be empty achievements. God bless Andy (look a bassist who knows how to agree to disagree) keep up the good work.
Again, I agree with you,Glenn,
If I were to make a shirt that reflects my opinions on rhythm sections, they would read "My drummer is a useless, raging alcoholic" and the other one would be " My bass player is a pedophile". Personal experiences. Go ahead and ask me about them.
Tom Tobin ok the bass player, what happened
Our band had 14 year old fans of the female variety and he slept with them.
Tom Tobin how about the drummer (I also play bass too, but cause of jazz band and stuff)
I ran across Adam Neely and his comment a while back. I was going to send it to you but figured you had seen it a million times. I was really surprised he didn't get it!
If you look closey Adam is wearing a rule #2 shirt. ;)
Scott Harnish Holy Shit! How did I miss that! I'm glad he get's it! I'm such a dumbass... but hey... I'm a guitar player after all!
Which proves my point... (that I make on occasion to FB friends) everything you see on the internet, is not necessarily true or what it seems to be.
Adam did another QA later, saying that a lot of people misunderstood his comments about Glen. He's actually a pretty big fan.
You wore a shirt that makes me self aware of the possibility that I might actually be s***** at the bass, I'm going to cry myself to death LOL that's great, not a bass player myself but that's hilarious lmao
gotta love the "all your base are belong to us" reference. Keep it up and cheers from Croatia!
as a bass player, I get the joke, and its pretty funny sometimes, but there is also a thing called taking it too far, I unsubbed a while ago, your videos are informative but you constantly make fun of me and giving me a bad feeling about it, Its a joke, I get it, dont see me as a mad person who doenst know how to play an instrument, its just that if you keep harrassing a single group as a joke, eventually they will leave
Exactly, it's a joke that stopped being funny and just gets in the way of actual content. He does it for views. I unsubbed ages ago too because it's not interesting hearing the same joke over and over again. Plus everything he says about bass players is equally true for singers, drummers, keyboard players, and guitarists, more so because those things are more popular instruments. I decided to look for more informed and interesting content.
Damn Deal Done Yeah thank you, its not that either of us is mad, its just that if you keep harrassing a single group of people, they leave, just dont project negativity towards people.
well then practice the bass and he will joke around less
+Jordan Gallaher I study bass and practice scales and technique everyday, and you think that is gonna change a thing? no, he created a stereotype he enjoys and he'll keep it alive
No, he's calling out people like you
What do you call a failed bass player ? A sound engineer .
being a bassist comes with dealing with the whole "You bassist is stupid." joke. You gotta deal with it and own it haha. I did myself and it's fun at this point. Keep up the good work Glenn! I love watching your videos!
Neal from Motor City Guitar! Thanks for the shout out man!
Wonderful video, Glenn. Musicians never cease to amaze me in areas other than creativity and performance. Have you checked out videos by guitarist Rory McLean and if so, what are your thoughts on him? Keep it up, Glenn! I'll order the pitch correction shirt at some point!
The sarcasm in Adam Neely's clip in the beginning is so strong...especially as he says it with a deadpan straight face....WHILE wearing a rule #2 shirt XD XD XD
Glenn, didn't you notice Adam was wearing your rule #2 shirt? He even later clarified that it was sarcasm.
loving these vids
As a bassists myself i love your bassists jokes. Please never stop you're awesome!
I just have to say as a drummer, bassist, and vocalist I take my music very seriously..With that being said the first time I seen the bass player shirt I loved it!..I laughed my ass off so did other bassists I have had the pleasure of working with..also I have learned a ton from your channel thanks again Glenn keep it up. Obviously the ones who get offended must see themselves in the font of your shirt
I'm a bass player myself but I still love watching these videos because they're just absolutely hillarious.
Hi Glen great channel, very informative and you have helped come a long way in my mixing techniques and such.
I do have a couple of questions and if you could answer them that would be greatly appreciated:
In your "how to prep your songs for professional mixing" video toward the end you stated that all tracks should be exported as mono if guitars and bass etc or dual mono if overheads and such or stereo if keys etc etc. Would it not be better to to have all of the tracks exported as mono with the exception of keys that way it can give you more of a free range with the stereo field by use of panning and direction mixers and the like? If not how come?
Secondly I'd like to add what is your opinion on triple mic-ing a guitar amp/cab? I usually prefer to have a 57 just off centre in close proximity (for the proximity boost to give the mids and low end a warmer feel) then a condenser usually a SE1a (cause i'm a poor student and can't afford Neumann) i'd have this positioned a couple inches back from the dynamic to avoid phase and I have it directed towards the centre of the cone, finally I use a room mic more commonly a rode NT1a to capture the ambient guitar sounds.
Thanks in advance. Rock on dude from Manchester, England \m/
Glenn, you are the man. Don't ever let these comments get in your head. Much love brother!
Hey, Glenn, love your channel. I've started building a home studio; spent a bunch of money on instruments and foam, but soon figured out that I probably should have a plan. With my odd, L-shaped room, which will be used both for recording live drums and critical listening, and for other practical reasons I've decided to have the listening position face a corner. I know I'll need bass traps, and it was right before I bought some wood-based panels similar to the glass ones you used in your (excellent, by the way, but I can't find metal studs here!) video that I had to slow my purchasing. Things will have to go as I can afford them, and my latest big purchase was the materials for the custom table to fit into the corner. After that, I plan to continue with the bass traps, and then I'd like to build some diffusors for the back end of the room. The point is, I think I need to get the room acoustics worked out before I try to worry about expensive monitors and microphones. However, don't I need a decent reference mic to use a real time analyzer? Can I get by with one half of a mid-priced matched pair for overheads?
So i am a 18 year old bass player, ive been playing for a little over two years (well bass, but saxophone for 8 years) and i got in to college for bass. I am happy with the progression i am making on the instrument. But i cant help but wonder everytime i go to play if Glenn would appreciate me as a bass player or if he would think i am shit. I honestly am thriving to become a bassist and musician that he would approve of! I respect his opinion considering he has been in the business for as long as he has. There is no reason to get mad at him for his opinion of bassists, if your mad, then your probably one of the ones he is talking about, just thought i would share. I dont know if you will read this Glenn, but if so, keep on rocking and i love your content! Everyone have a great day!
Wow, thanks for mentioning Motor City Music! I'm a Michigan native myself. Ever been to Elderly Instruments in Lansing? A bit farther, and a different feel for a music store, but they always have some killer vintage guitars.
Ah man, way too funny! It amazes me that so many people don't at all get what you are all about. Like having your act together before you get into a studio, and paying too! Glenn, I'm glad you're a Canadian like me!
This man is the reason I practice playing bass far more than I use to. Thank you Glen
Glenn keep on keeping on!!! Love all your responses!
This is great stuff man. Showed my guitarist, and you have a new sub! So question, what do you think about Periphery's new album? Those guys are putting out a lot of content, some serious sound on that record.
Now I understand one thing that has been told me many years ago. I went with my old old old band in a recording studio and we started recording with drums + bass at the same time. We did take 1 and the engineer said to me "Well, bass sounded good but unfortunately I heard some mistakes on the drums so would you mind playing it again?" I answered "Of course, by the way with mistakes on the drums the bass can't be good, let's do it again" and he replied "Wow! I'd never expect to hear such thing from a bass player". Now I can say I understand why he was so surprised :)
I'm a Bass Player and I agree with Glenn. You have to know what to do before ever going into a studio,I can relate to the frustration you don't have to be great to be effective you just have learn the part, jam sessions are vital also a knowledge of tab and playing the bass part over and over again until it comes natural. If you want to be good you have work at it.
"All your base are belong to us" Totally got the Zero Wing reference. And I LOLed. A lot. \,,/
I love you, Glenn. This was amazing :)
