I’m always on edge and nervous. But I’m ESPECIALLY antsy when my mom is in the car with me. She always starts bugging and freaking me out. So whenever we’re done, I always have to vomit and finish my panic bout by crying from how bad my nerves were. 😬 so this was really helpful. Edit: I always keep a paper bag in the car.
The only reason im a nervous driver is because my mom literally tells me im useless and dumb and yells at the top of her lungs when im LEARNING how to drive and im not even bad
My mom literally starts screaming in panic if I just barely touch the gas pedal and I immediately start going 30 mph. I have an instructor as well, but I heard that he called someone he was instructing that I knew a retard. That's all that makes me nervous and also the fact I almost killed all of my neighbors livestock. Edit: I finished Drivers Ed last weekend and my instructor definitely made me nervous. He kept yelling at me for messing up one little thing and if I knew I didn't have time to make it onto the roadway when someone is coming, he screams "What are you waiting for Christmas" or he just repeatedly screams go
I have my license, but haven’t driven in 5 years. Paying for driving lessons was helpful, but depends on the instructor TBH, mines was kinda just there for the ride and didn’t really evaluate my skills. But it definitely increased my confidence behind the wheel. Good tip!
Lovely Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you tried - Fiyilliam Uncomplicated Formula (should be on google have a look)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for stopping your fear of driving minus the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my buddy finally got great success with it.
I took 17 lessons and I'm still terrified of driving 😂 I get in these situations where I'm not sure what I should do sometimes, a new situation and I have no one to ask what I Should do.. and if I choose wrong I get honked and yelled at 🥴
me too im currently learning bc school is coming up but I always end up doing something wrong, especially when idk what to do. My parents repeat and repeat the same things I’m doing wrong but i just get nervous and do the first thing that comes to mind. i feel u 🥲
Im only scared bc I don't want my dad to get frustrated with me. I have all the patience in the world and accept that I'll make mistakes. My dad, however, completely throws that out the window
Hey! I have struggled with this as well. My mom tells me to look where I want to go, and the car usually stays centered this way! Maybe this can help :D
Large intersections make me nervous, going for my road text in two weeks and I'm pretty nervous, should I have a drink before I go to calm me, just kidding I would never do that. just positive thoughts.
How'd your driving test go? Also I know this a year old but I want to comment this I'm heading for my driving test next month and is really nervous cause I have to drive my little brother(9) to school on Tuesday and myself on the same day. My dad is the yeller type of teacher my eldest brother (27), step mom and step aunt were all taught the same way as well. I finished driving some today but when my dad gets back he going to take me out to drive more. when we got home today he got out and told me to drive all the way to the end of the Neighborhood and back home, to my brother's school then back home again. Some how it was less stressful without him in the care but I was still super nervous. I just scared that I'll crash it forget the directions to my own school (my little brother is close and easy to remember) He told me if I don't get this right by Monday then my Career in running Track and Field is over, which I'm extreamly upset about. Any tips on getting better with lane changes and Trying to keep from slowing down constantly, I'm doing good with parking
i have watched alot of your driving videos over the past couple of months. i failed my road test the first time but was able to pass the second time i just wanted to thank you for the videos and i will still be watching just to learn more
I tried learning how to drive from my dad but long story short, he yelled to the point where I don’t even want to drive anymore. I decided to take driving lessons from a driving school and it’s been amazing (although be warned, pair up with the teacher you are most comfortable with) and I feel more confident now. Hoping to get my license by the end of the year!
I think I’m nervous because i feel like the people in the car with me, and the people in other cars will judge me. I also believe I’m nervous because it’s so much to be aware of on the road.😭
I have a license and I’ve been driving quite a lot lately, but when I make a small mistake my family members quickly jump to being extra corrective (screaming, etc). I kind of pushed myself to quickly learn bc I needed to be ready for whatever (in this case, I had to take some trips I wasn’t fully ready for). I sound silly when I say this, but that alone doesn’t help my constant driving anxiety. Thankfully, I’ve never crashed or gotten into an accident since I’ve been driving, but man! It’s not easy. Nice to see I’m not the only one struggling 🙂
I was a confident driver until I got in an accident caused by a health condition I wasn't aware of. I was okay for about a year after but then I started feeling anxious while driving. I find music can feed anxiety, even if it's something I enjoy. Despite not liking talk radio I have noticed I forget my nerves with talk radio or an audible book. I take the time to plan my route and look at google maps and satellite view if needed. Even if I have driven that route 100 if I'm nervous it helps to plan and visualize it. I also chew gum, a lot of gum. Also taking deep breaths in through your nose and out your mouth. Outside of driving I meditate and reduce my caffeine intake in hopes to prevent or reduce anxiety once I get behind the wheel.
I want to tell my personal story with driving . I got the driving license 1 year ago and after that I was really scared to drive the car alone . In fact I always drive the car with my parents or someone . I was scared because maybe I would hit some other car or make an accident . Months past and I was always in the same situation . Then I got a work in a place far from my home , to reach this place I must drive for all the city and in its more traffic roads . In this week I made the very first long drive alone and I wasn't scared because I expected everything . So I made another 4 drives alone and now I don't feel any fear with driving . So my tips is : Find a rout to do everyday possible , this route must be traffic and difficult
Unfortunately your advice doesn't really work for me. You said by the 100th time not so nervous but I am still always about to puke or puke once I get home from practicing with my mom. I'm 19 and I've been practicing for 2 almost 3 years to learn how to drive. I just recently got my permit, as I failed that test before but I hate driving. I've already crashed into someone before too because I'm just bad at turning. I literally can't breathe when I'm in the driver's seat and I just can't help but want to puke. I've tried getting over it but at the end of the day, I don't want to drive but I don't want to burden my mother. I went to college for a year and I'm going back so I'm worried I'll forget a lot. I doubt I'll get my license before I go back because I just can't stand to be in the front seat. I am unsure what I can do. I honestly just want to get my license so my mom won't bug me about it but I actually never want to have to drive again unless it's necessary or an emergency. Also our driving lessons in our area require at least a week paid and it's just too expensive.
Hey i just started driving recently and i also dont know if i even want to drive because i also get really nervous, did it get better for you? And do you have any tips to stay calm while driving
@@cosmic_rain9417 oof sorry I don't have any good advice. My mother and I went back to my old home town that has hardly no traffic and she forced me to drive the entire time and I still was in bad shape. In fact, I still don't have my license due to what was happening in the world, but I also don't make a real effort to learn. I'm thinking about paying for lessons elsewhere so that I can learn from a professional and not from a parent who expects you to know everything already in the seat and how to do certain things. Maybe take lessons from a professional and I guess, just go for it. I'm not really sure what to say to it.
I've never driven but I plan to do alot of my driving at times where not a lot of people will be on the road, like early in the morning or late at night
Maybe just try driving on a empty road at first, then move on to busy roads. Also meditation can help with calming your nerves. Practice makes progress, im sure if you just keep practicing you will eventually get the hang of it, and it will become 2nd nature to you. Good luck you got this!
Thanks! I passed my test over 30 yrs ago but haven't driven for about 10 yrs. My daughter just gave me her car when she got her new one. I have a terrible fear of stalling and so it keeps happening and now I'm to scared to get behind the wheel! 😲 I'll definitely take your tips on board, especially trying the audio rain sounds as i often use that to help me fall asleep.
