When it comes to Draedon's lore, he's basically a master machinist who serves under Yharim (the 'big bad' of Terraria Calamity) because he saw it as an opportunity to create. He made the Devourer of Gods' armor, he made the mechanical bosses, he made Astrum Aureus (albeit it was corrupted with the astral infection) and has several labs stationed around the world that contain robots, research, and other tech. The exo mechs are his magnum opus, his most powerful creation made to rival gods themselves. He doesn't want the player dead, the player to him is an anomaly, a specimen to be studied. He is curious, almost excited to watch the player battle his creations and hopes for the moment his desire to create is finally sated.
Correct me if i'm wrong. He is also super old and he now doesn't serve under yharim for what yharim could bring him, he used to struggle for ressources and defense but since now he has the war machines such as the exo mechs who use the exo prism for near infinite energy, a large territory or planetoids and various labs, a lot of robots to bring ressources, he only works for him to create something and because he's yharim, he was made to create and he almost only does that, he is only wanting to study and is not evil, i love this character

YEAHHHH ANOTHER DOSIS OF BELLSS! (11:40/15:45 HAHAHHA JUST TO GOOD) The comment of the week took me off guard, im glad that you liked my comment, but what to say, i was only saying the truth, in a short period of time you just hook me to keep watching your progress as a youtuber and see these marvelous videos, keep going man, glad to be part of your community :D And i agree with the idea of making premire for the Calamity video, so we can chat with you while watching the video ;D
Just some quick lore stuff on Scars of Calamity: Every voice present in the lyrics (the downplayer, the emotional and the determined one) all represent Calamitas herself, her inner strife and conflict represented through said lyrics. That scene of the player walking through the brimstone crags, finding Calamitas standing alone at the end of a wrecked bridge, is a replication of an event that occurs after defeating the Brimstone Elemental (being Calamitas tossing a red, stony flower into the lava below). I don't exactly remember why this was, but from memory: It was due to how Calamitas felt for the Brimstone Elemental, how similar she felt they were, and the respect born from that mutual connection. Calamitas is torn between her hatred for the player, her spite born from their murdering of the one she understood best. And the begrudging respect for having made it this far, for being so strong, that you're capable of giving even the Brimstone Witch a run for her money. (This is the best analogy i can give. Might not even be true, but i hope it serves well in explaining that masterpiece!)
wow what a series. your personality and humour make these videos so fun to watch, the editing and reactions are just a cherry on top. i genuinely had a good time watching these, just like how you were listening to those amazing osts. the stuff dokuro and pinpin makes are just top notch music it’s unbelievable. i speak for everyone when i say that we will be watching the calamity playthrough next week🫡 also speaking of next week… you’re uploading the calamity video on the same day oshi no ko season 2 final episode airs. i cannot wait for sunday, it’ll be so amazing
Could you maybe listen to the Resurrection of a cruel world from Heart Plus Up? The vanilla soundtrack is completely changed ( until hardmode) to fit better to calamity.
This was simply amazing, once again. Honestly awesome news that you’re going to be actually PLAYING Terraria, and not just Terraria, but Calamity at that. Your rankings and reactions have been a delight to watch, and I can hardly wait for what you post going forward. On a personal add-on, I figure youre probably gonna be busy with the Calamity playthrough, but I’d still like to toss the hat of the Ancients Awakened Otherworld soundtrack ranking into the ring. Its first track, Discordance Sonata, should give you a good idea of how the rest of the soundtrack’s gonna go.
You should actually listen to the Calamity addons music, for example Hunt of the old god, wrath of the gods and Cataclyst. I KNOW you've sent out a poll on what your next video will be but you should atleast wrap the Terraria Calamity OST reactions with these bangers! Anyway you're videos are amazing and I can't wait for the next ones. BELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLS
Aw man, you have such wholesome vibe, reminding of old youtube, this editing becoming better and better every video, love your content, love your channel, love you, keep going and don't give up❤
absolutely BANGING video (what else to expect) but i loved the songs and your reaction to them! also I am so EXTREMELY excited for your calamity run. Personal tip for calamity I recommend doing your own thing enitrely when it comes to what you wanna do for weapons armor or accesories. as there are some for certain classes, its your first time playing so by all means do what you think will be fun and dont let others tell you how to play the game. It will be much better that way
BRO THIS VIDEO IS A MASTERPIECE, But it would be nice if you reacted to some extra osts from calamity mod to give a perfect ending, there are 3, the 2 themes of goozma and the theme of nameless deity (twisted garten), I don't know if you read this or not but I hope you listen to them even if it's not on video :D, they are amazing
PLEASE SEE THIS MESSAGE, PLEASE USE THE ADDON FOR CALAMITY CALLED 'Wrath Of The Gods" it's amazing, or atleast use it at the end of your playthrough, it adds 2 extremely good calamity like bosses that are present in the lore of the game and the last boss is DEFINITELY one of the best calamity bosses ever, it's a superboss and it is just exceptional, the music, the ambience of the dimension where he is in, the model and the fight, also just at the end, the scars of calamity might be more the ones of calamitas, she lived through a lot of trauma such as her whole "country" got destroyed by the brimstone elemental, she was strong but couldn't kill the elemental with brimstone
The beginning of primordial wyrm theme is really similliar to the void, because this is where u fight him, in the void, the 4th layer of the abyss Hope u will find some more cool terraria themes since calamity and infernum are just fire, i never really focused on songs when playing and fighting all these bosses of calamity but u made me want to always play with headphones, some of these songs are just true masterpiece, *in my opinion* lunatic cultist, exo mechs and scal (supreme calamitas) are just on whole another level
Nice list bro❤ and iam so excited to see you play calamity for the first time(also try to get used to the mod as fast as possible cuz you will rage out the whole community)
BELLLLLLSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!, Razorblade monsoon sounds really fast and energetic, since the fight is essentially tornadoes sharks flying at you and the duke constantly dashing at you, it also is extremely chaotic and can end really quickly on both sides since he has fairly low hp and defense but high speed and damage, a noob destroyer, the theme of the lunatic cultist also fits perfectly, he's trying to bring doom to the planet and revive the crippled moonlord, also called Chtulhu, he eventually does that but only a weaker version of him while he was battling with you to try to slow you down so the moonlord could revive thanks to the cult, the moonlord will spawn once you destroy the 4 celestial pillars (solar, vortex, nebula and stardust pillars), each one are unique in their own way, very good song, my favorite is definitely catastrophic fabrications it's such an upgrade from the already insane inferior fabrications, it fits since the exo mechs are huge war machines made by draedon to defend himself or to do any elimination task, they are a combination of technological advancements leading to the exo mechs, using exo prisms that contain infinite energy, he is not trying to kill the terrarian but only study him, he is really impressed by the terrarian, at that point if he wanted to kill the terrarian he probably could with a lot of effort, but idk he chill like that, he's more of a hero, he is at one point going to expand into space if he wants, the main mech being Ares, the song really fits to the mechanical and ultra heavy and technological feeling of the Exo mechs
I really really hope you will listen and rank Terraria Otherworld OST, it doesnt have enough credit It's Alternative to original soundtrack ans sounds COMPLETELY different
After this, I heavily recommend the missed Calamity soundtrack being the interludes; Calm before the Storm, Storm before the Catastrophe and Catastrophe before the Calamity (the best one out of three). And then you can listen to the other Calamity themes like Goozma's theme, Twisted Garden and of course, one of my favorite soundtracks; the Wayfair Soundtrack. Good video as always! I love your attention to detail and regarding the motifs, the one you call Inferior Fabrication's motif is actually Draedon's motif.
I would have honestly had this for my top 3 1. Zenith Fabrications 2. Scars of Calamity 3. Vocitus Terminus Honorable Mentions 4. Storm before Dawn 5. Sky after Rain Anyways, all of these are going into my worldbuilding playlist no questions asked
In the lore of calamity, youre just a guy, a mortal, fighting gods. Its like swatting a fly, but the fly is swatting you just as hard. Also draedon's exo mechs are machines that have surpassed gods and that's what he is talking about. There is another monologue before the fight too.
Every theme related to Draedon and the exo mechs is absolute bangers, truly one of the finest editions to calamity. Screw simping for Calamitas, I’ll be simping for Draedon all day, every day.
I’m going to be completely honest here…the empress theme was not that good in my opinion, especially for how people hyped it up 😭 Storm before Dawn and Ancient Doomslayer are definitely my favorites though
Amazing video! Maybe rank the Vanilla Calamity mod music OST next :) Its an addon that turns all the vanilla musics into calamity style songs, using those motifs from calamity. The main composer of that mod, Heartplusup also worked on the actual Calamity OST. (Personally, I like those songs even more than some normal Calamity songs)
I'm not gonna pretend like I'm some music expert but this level of glazing for some of the most okay music I've ever heard is nuts. Like there are some okay tracks but for the most part they're all extremely unorganized and chaotic (which can be good if well executed but in this case it isn't.) Chord progressions feel borderline random with some chords making me honestly wince a little with how out of place and jarring they feel; The same goes for the melodies and motifs used where they genuinely just feel like continuous riffing of random notes on a scale. The only honestly passable parts of the composition are the percussion which stays pretty consistent through the songs I'll admit, the vocals which aren't actually sung but instead use a vocalizer plugin to generate them, and anytime DM Dokuro's motifs and chord progressions are just straight up inserted into the songs which is honestly just kinda cheap. Aside from the actually composition though, the sound selection is just straight up bad; With orchestral sounds like piano, choirs, strings, etc. just sounding not that great (which is honestly kind of fair since not everyone can get access to top notch instrument plugins due to pricing) and the synths used being extremely generic sounding as well as being spammed across the entire soundtrack which makes it all just kinda blend together in my mind. All of this comes together to make almost all of the tracks, In my opinion, completely unmemorable; With every time I listen to any of the songs again feeling like it's the first time I've ever listened to them, because there's just nothing to grab onto in terms of coherency. So TL:DR, it feels wrong that these songs are being treated as if they're masterpieces when they are so obviously flawed on a compositional level and overall just really forgettable. I'm not saying these songs deserve to be hated, but I just wish people would accept that these songs are just kind of okay and that Pinpin has a lot more room to improve when it comes to his music (which is FINE.)
Here’s the big question though, do you prefer the Calamity or Infernum soundtrack? Both are masterpieces but I personally think the calamity sounds more polished and experienced
Seeing the reaction to Eidolic Ancestry was such a rollercoaster of vibes. The shock of the intro to the absolute amazement to the Stardust segment was thrilling to watch. It's also particularly intriguing to me because it has chord progression that is used in Sky After Rain in the transition after the Solar segment, even though Eidolic Ancestry came before. Love it very much, but that pretty much goes with 95% of Infernum's OST
22:46 About your Their Fabricator question on the lore, Draedon was a machine created with one purpose, and it's the mere purpose of creation, ultimate creation. Simple as that, but the story? Yharim starts the conquest to kill all the gods. He recruits Draedon to help out with his mechanical prowess, however after numerous incidents that Yharim didn't exactly like (such as the Bionic Plague, The Sulphurous Sea, etc.), Draedon was fired. He then went on to create ultimate war machines (the exo-mechs) to do the work himself. Eventually the Terrarian comes along and proceeds to become the same level as a god themself, by the point they fight and kill The Mech Trio (the ones Inferior Fabrications are for), Providence, The Devourer of Gods, and Yharon, (and I assume the Clone of Calamitas and the Plaguebringer Goliath...?) Draedon thinks it'd be a cool idea to test his machines on the Terrarian, only to be amazed by their competence and persistence in the fight, and destroy the machines. Ultimately, Draedon decides that once the Terrarian finds their way to Yharim at the Dragons Aerie, he'll just watch the fight happen form afar.
The lore is basically this: (TLDR at end) Draedon, a super smart robot guy, is hired by a man by the name of Yharim who is fighting a war against the gods of the world as his engineer/weapons manufacturer. Yharim does this because in this world, a god is someone/thing that has absorbed a dragon's auric soul (who are the most powerful beings in the world), and hence killing them. Yharim, was a king that was destined to absorb the last dragon's soul, Yharon, but he betrayed them, instead teaming up with the last dragon to kill all the gods for participating in a genocide of a dying race. The mechincal bosses (inferior fabrications) were Draedon's first creations for the war effort, serving as useful tools for Yharim's army, but Draedon himself did not like how they were not completely under his control. He does many other things for Yharim with his new resources (as Yharim is basically the most powerful person alive at this point) like research the astral infection, try to replicate Calamitas' power, and upgrade the Devourer of Gods' armour. But over time a rift starts to form between Yharim and Draedon, which is further added upon when Draedon creates a nano plauge to enslave organisms, having absoluely no remorse when he is called out for this, lack of a better term, war crime. Yharim absolutely despises him for this and kicks him out never to work with him again, but by this point Draedon doesn't really need Yharim anymore anyway. After this, he develops the exo prism, which is a source of unlimited energy, and uses it to create his magnum opus, the Exo Mechs who are completely under his command, and uses the Terrarian (aka the player) as a test subject for his new perfect machines. There's a really good video by Midnight Minute that goes way more in detail and I would highly recommend checking it out if you got interested by this (kinda) sort synopsis. (Title: The DEFINITIVE Calamity Mod Timeline) TLDR; Robot man and god slayer team up, break apart, then robot man takes his new resources to create the perfect machines and uses you as a test subject.
22:50 In calamity your ultimate goal is to defeat the Tyrant, Yharim who took over Terraria, the world you live in. Before Yharim took over Terraria, he became allies with Draedon, a machine with an extraordinary talent and passion to create. Draedon created the exo mechs, an attempt to rival the strength of Yharim himself before they parted ways which is why he cannot assist you in reaching him. There is a TON of information in the lore document but this is just a quick summary of it. Love your videos cjs best of luck with your channel.❤
as soon as i saw this video pop up on my feed i clicked on it faster than redditors got angry at me for sharing my calamity mod music tierlist (by the way, i believe scars of calamity is sung by calamitas) also important question: Scars of Calamity or Stained, Brutal Calamity?
If you are gonna play calamity, i recommend playing with infernum mode since all these musics come from it and i think calamity's exo mechs is mid. But be warned because infernum will be so hard for a beginner, it might get a bit frustrating. Maybe you can give it a try later
I have a few recommendations for your Terraria Calamity playthrough. The point of Infernum is that it’s a harder difficulty than Death Mode, the hardest difficulty in base Calamity. The recommended difficulty for a first Calamity playthrough is Revengeance mode. However, I’d still highly recommend the Infernum Mod for the structures, music, and the Bareft Vassal, even if you don’t select its special difficulty. Also if you want, there are two unofficial add on mods that are super awesome, being “Hunt of the Old God” and “Wrath of the Gods,” but adding those is totally up to you.
21:10 lyrics for zenith fabrications: "Deus ex machinae Modus ex Infernum: This is latin language and translation is: "God made by machine From Infernum mode"
Now you can be asked one of the most controversial questions in whole Calamity community: Scars of Calamity or Stained, Brutal Calamity? And also about your upcoming Calamity playthrough: actually you can use Infernum Music without Infernum Mode itself, so it is possible to have those tracks. Also I can recommend adding Vanilla Calamity Music (I'm swear, I'm not a simp, I just like Heart Plus Up's tracks so much), it has tracks for most vanilla biomes, as well as tracks for almost all Pre-Hardmode bosses (except Bee and Deerclopse), but you can toggle the function "Prioritize Infernum Music" in config, so PinPin's tracks won't be overwritten with HPU's ones. And also I can recommend you adding some QoL mods like Recipe Browser, Alchemist NPC Lite, Magic Storage and Boss Checklist (if you didn't add them for now). And most importantly, take your time, don't try to kill as many bosses as you can, just play how you like the more. It'll still be very interesting to watch even if you won't kill any bosses in the first few parts! (and also give a try Terraria's building system, I enjoy making beautiful houses so much, and I'm sure you'll be able to build something beautiful) All right boys, no backseating! (unless he asks for advice, of course)
I wouldn’t say it’s controversial, based on what I’ve seen the consensus seems to be that SBC id better, and I would agree, SoC is a great standalone song but the bar is just really high when your competition is SBC
When it comes to Draedon's lore, he's basically a master machinist who serves under Yharim (the 'big bad' of Terraria Calamity) because he saw it as an opportunity to create.
Finally someone reacting to catastrophic fabrications! It's definately one of my favs, alongside with Roar of the jungle dragon and Tyrant.
22:46 About your Their Fabricator question on the lore,
Draedon was a machine created with one purpose, and it's the mere purpose of creation, ultimate creation.
The lore is basically this: (TLDR at end)
Draedon, a super smart robot guy, is hired by a man by the name of Yharim who is fighting a war against the gods of the world as his engineer/weapons manufacturer. (Title: The DEFINITIVE Calamity Mod Timeline)
TLDR; Robot man and god slayer team up, break apart, then robot man takes his new resources to create the perfect machines and uses you as a test subject.
Love your videos cjs best of luck with your channel.❤
as soon as i saw this video pop up on my feed i clicked on it faster than redditors got angry at me for sharing my calamity mod music tierlist
(by the way, i believe scars of calamity is sung by calamitas)
also important question:
Scars of Calamity or Stained, Brutal Calamity?
Another great mod worth listening to is "Terraria: Mod of Redemption". The OST is amazing.
If you are gonna play calamity, i recommend playing with infernum mode since all these musics come from it and i think calamity's exo mechs is mid. But be warned because infernum will be so hard for a beginner, it might get a bit frustrating. Maybe you can give it a try later
I didn't know that Eidolic Ancestry hit that hard, definitely one of the best Infernum tracks for sure.
I have a cool video idea: you take all 3 tier lists, and put them into 1 tier list and rank them all, that would be interesting!
Can't wait for him to play Terraria Calamity Infernum Catalyst Hunt for the Old God Wrath of the Gods Fargos Soul Mascohit getfixedboi
Next: rate all S, S+ and A ranked songs from the three terraria OSTs you’ve heard
Really did the "Real music man thinks the music you like is good" title
please react to unofficial calamity soundtrack from heart plus up channel.
21:10 lyrics for zenith fabrications:
"Deus ex machinae
Modus ex Infernum:
This is latin language and translation is:
"God made by machine
From Infernum mode"
I recommend you check out the ost of a game called dead cells they're pretty good
Now you can be asked one of the most controversial questions in whole Calamity community: Scars of Calamity or Stained, Brutal Calamity?
(and also give a try Terraria's building system, I enjoy making beautiful houses so much, and I'm sure you'll be able to build something beautiful)
All right boys, no backseating! (unless he asks for advice, of course)
I wouldn’t say it’s controversial, based on what I’ve seen the consensus seems to be that SBC id better, and I would agree, SoC is a great standalone song but the bar is just really high when your competition is SBC
14:26 how ironic
