I recognize those images in the beginning :) I agree that this type offense is great, I just wonder if all players have the ability to execute it smoothly. Especially at the early levels.
Thanks for the comment! Many people question the ability of lower level players to run a PBO, as if it would be more difficulty than running a structured offense. Bottom line is lower level players will not run any offense particularly well. Sure they could set up in a formation and it might look like it's good..... until they have to beat someone, move the ball, read the defense etc. The reason a PBO is more effective to run for younger and less experienced players is the same reason as it works for higher level players: it's more unpredictable for the defense, it is more variable meaning more different opportunities to create advantages, and with a focus on the principles players will begin to learn to read the defense, which doesn't happen in structured offenses even close to enough. It's such a long conversation, but i hope this helps.
