You will hardly find a more genuine and authentic person in a politician. These are the gems of Indian politics and we must shine more light on them. I especially liked how unbiased, practical, and aware he is. He gave a really good answer to the "Hindi question".

Great work PRINT. Im from a southern state. What the guest speaks seems polite but far from democracy. He says the following: 1) Legacy is good for democracy. 2) Calls Punjab quarter as Sweepers colony. Can shift ethnic groups out of their homes without knowing what to do with the land. 3) Indians coming to Meghalaya to register for permission (like a hotel). Do Meghalayans register in other states? No they dont have to. 4) Biggest health crisis in Meghalaya is a legacy issue (considering he and his father has been in power all through the legacy period) 5) Church (or temple for the matter) is good for state administration. And a liberal journalist like Shekarji left these points without strong follow up questions supported by facts! Feels let down a bit. Appreciate the interview though. Learnt a lot.
This interaction with our CM is very Fruitful as the interactor are very aware of our Conditions, situation and even our way of life, as we have already heard about his previous documentary and his two or three years experience being here in our State . Excellant interview, Very mature, articulate and committed CM, balancing very well, the regional concern, national interests and global perspective. Even in person he is as understanding and gentle as he appears in the interview.
The fact is that Meghalaya has a plethora of pressure groups who are like parallel governments and the Government itself is populist on most issues be it ILP, CAA etc. There has been no value addition economic development of any kind which translated into employment and jobs etc
Where is the new institutions? Do you see any medical college or any state university in Meghalaya? You compare the qualifications wise of the employees and the unemployed people in our state, you will see who is more qualified? Pity our youngsters even if they are qualified yet the system is so bad. Only RTI will bring everything to light
No matter how nicely one explained about maternal mortality rate & IMR, the situation nos grim and being a concern citizen, I'm greatly ,bitterly disappointed.
The north east goes with power in Delhi, no matter what. But the issue of ILP is screwed up anywhere in india. I understand their Reservations with settlements but ILP feels like passport for visiting within country which is disgraceful.
Why Meghalaya has no Finance Minister. It's pure business. I think I have traveled to almost all nooks and crannies of Meghalaya. The state sees extreme poverty in rural and remote villages. Rugged roads are ubiquitous in rural areas. On education, Meghalaya ranks lowest among all states in India as we all know. We are the last batch taught in Khasi vernacular. So we know Meghalaya well. The interview doesn't highlight the economic, cultural deterioration.... aspects of Meghalaya. In terms of health, ask the international community, almost 80% of the people suffer from malnutrition. Diseases, food standards .....are egregious. ILP is lip service. NPP is only a clothing outside. Body, heart, soul, strength and mind are of BJP. To get a foothold into a Christian state, BJP has to wear a clergical vestment. So a money-grubbing mercenary has to be there. Mukul persevered to get onboarded to BJP. But he failed. BJP could see a gullible yesman in this CM.
Just come to North East India.. You will convert.. convert to liberal.. if you are powerful and exerts we will die... Die with the cost anybody can never imagine.. with dying we will oppose whatever oppress exerts on us... We love each other.. garo dimasa mechh lalung koch tripuri bodo rabha or any tribe we belong to same linguistic family.. only some tribe convert forcefully to Hindus.. yet we live peacefully...
His father, the late P.A. Sangma should and could have been the President of India. It’s high time that the country gets a tribal President from the NE.

CM is correct in Garo hill there are two leaders sangma vs sangma but in khasi hill there are many political parties and also individual candidates matter .that y we have garo cm and it's basically said CM post booked for Garo
If every state CMs was clear about his priorities.. Visions.. Vocal.. Intelligent like him than India would have been already a developed nation.. But now hindi speaking belt states politicians have no knowledge about their responsibility.. Their only priority is win election and keep the cycle no matter how..

@Squirenon no others states have crores of population we don't have even 37-38 lakhs population. Despite in our state it is mix of many ttibes.
