P.P. Arnold is the greatest female singer in my book I bought 100 copies of her album KAFUNTA !!! you do justice to every song you sing I simply love you, you are the best
yes love her to such a passionate voice with feeling my fav song of all time is her singing the first cut is the deepest it just sends you beautiful voice all her songs have great lyrics
For those who are extolling this cover of "Eleanor Rigby," please be hereby enlightened: The only cover of "Eleanor Rigby" that has legitmacy is the one by Ray Charles (yes, THAT Ray Charles!) If you haven't heard it, please do so immediately.
+Charles C Don't be so pompous. To talk of 'legitimacy' in the context of one artist covering another's song is high cant indeed. If you don't like Pat's version, that's fine; but spare us the cod high-minded pretentiousness.
It doesn't surprise me that you choose to stay in the darkness; after all, as the saying goes, "there is none so blind as him who will not see (the truth, that is).
Firstly, I wasn't being pompous, only truthful. Secondly, I never stated (nor intimated) that I don't like Pat's version of this song. Rather, I'm simply stating that, in contrast to Ray Charles's cover, Pat's version is woefully lacking. My god, man, if ANYONE here is being pompous, it's YOU, you sanctimonious jerk.
the beetles made a movie "all this and WW2 " i am sure this was in the movie. or was it was Yellow submarine? The song is very apt today as the social fabric of the UK is destroyed by creeping Sharia.
ironically it's people who believe there is that are destroying the fabric of the UK by continuously falling for lies and voting for criminal governments.
This is one of the best covers of any Beatles song, one with a unique style and talent , making it special
Being old, I grew up listening to PP, so it's nice reading the comment's of all those FINDING HER now.......
August 2020. Just found her now.
A brilliant performance from one of the best singers ever
Wow, what a 1st 10 second intro!! What a cracking voice and superb cover. PP, massively underrated x
The intro is so wild, raw, and totally flat- I love it and can't get enough. I love it when people just let it all go wild. Love her music.
She is brilliant, I am SO embarrassed that I did not learn of her sooner, now that I have found her on here, I can't stop listening to her
Check out the song she did with the beatmasters called burn it up.
This was never one of my favorite Beatles tunes, but this cover is fantastic!
A great talented and beautiful singer and performance
Just a very special vocalist, such vocal clarity, clean, very clean. P. P, your vocals on this piece were quite impressive !

Fantastic tune love it....
Maravilhosa! Conhecia como back vocal do Pink & Brit Floyd e do Roger Waters. P.P Arnold, você é divina, um beijo!

Frankly that cover is very "by the book". This is more daring and interesting

Charles C I'll stay in the darkness; this is THE only version of ER

There is nowhere in the UK or the USA where "Sharia Law" exists.
You're a complete idiot.
ironically it's people who believe there is that are destroying the fabric of the UK by continuously falling for lies and voting for criminal governments.
strange .
Ok...
Sounds to me like Robert Stigwood stymied or killed a career that could have been.
An interesting and acceptable version, though I prefer it by the Beatles.
Sorry. But this is nothing. There is only one Eleanor Rigby. Beatles forever!
Boring. Get your head out of your rear and listen to the many great sounds of the sixties. The sixties does not start and end with the Beatles.
kiwibird2008 this kills the Beatles version
Could you do better
She has more vocal range than the original monotone.
