I am currently going through a divorce with cause, which means he beat me up, cheated on me, lied about his finances and has a p*** addiction. We have mediation in a week and I did reach out to the mediator because I am currently homeless due to the domestic violence and ask for the time be changed why can have access to Internet and I was denied. He's never asked anything about my case or talk to me other than sending me a letter telling me what time the mediation is. I'm the one who filed for the divorce I feel like I'm getting screwed over.

Great video with one consideration. Saying that it's problematic to have a non-attorney mediator is the speaker's personal observation. Given that this attorney can only share his perspective it is appropriate given the narrow space of cases he says he sees in cases involving mediation. That said, various mediation styles (evaluative, facilitates, transformative and some newer styles) may or may not benefit from having a mediator who was a judge, attorney or non-attorney. Mediators possess domain expertise that isn't bring advantages in a specific dispute. I think it's worth looking at mediator backgrounds. Maybe having a judge or attorney mediator might result in a more evaluative style of mediation. Maybe not. Perhaps having a non attorney mediator applying an evaluative style brings added risk. Just my thoughts.
I especially like the emphasis on the 'one $ number' in a settlement noting that legal fees are usually included in the final agreement amount.
Would love to see more videos.

Great info! You mentioned that other cases can be settled during mediation, does that apply to EEOC mediation as well-can separate civil lawsuits be settled during an EEOC mediation?

Mediators do not give and should not advice or make suggestions to any of the parties. This is the rule and ethics of mediation. Doing that nullifies the agreement.

Some parties really appreciate an evaluative mediator. In fact, that’s frequently the reason one mediator is chosen over another ...... her / his in-depth knowledge of the topics in the case and their ability to help parties make appropriate choices.

Regarding confidentiality in mediation. Could such confidentiality be used in some circumstances to shelter some oral or documebtary evidence from admissibility as evidence in trial, should the mediation fails.

Nice vids but do their actions speak the same for those asking for their help. People need to see attorneys that are legitimate, not preying on people in vulnerable times. Has anyone used this firm that can share and show they are legitimate? I'll pay lots to see it.
