    Ashley, now that I'm rewatching and pausing to study things, I just realized that the shot of Elvis looking out of that window in his bedroom is the one with the camera that now WE SEE what HE saw! I know it's advertised like that someplace on the Graceland site that the camera gives us the view that ELVIS would have seen, looking out at the front of his home and down to the road. I've always known that it was his bedroom window, of course, but NOW it just gives that much more meaning to the camera, after seeing that photo you posted of him standing there. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT!

    Ashley, this is great! I don't think I've seen this one before. I'm thinking it's new? I enjoyed it thoroughly. Lots of neat info regarding Graceland. Loved hearing about the backyard, trailer info, the path where EP would enter and leave from...so as not to be seen coming and going. Photos of putting the trophy room together. Much more too. Such fun facts. I also loved going upstairs to his bedroom. Yes, we have seen it through movies and pics from some people but it's fun to view these private places of his. Interesting about the upstairs terrace, aka: running track. They made big changes there. Enclosing the screened in area. They really made it a lovely place for EP. Thanks so much for all of this. Your hard work has shone through! and I have such respect for how you work so hard on these videos. I always see something new. I'm always amazed at anything Elvis you can bring to us. The google map was a wonderful insight to the area of the entrance/exit via the back of Graceland. Again, Thanks my bay area homey lol! I've moved now, to the Sac Valley. Nearer my son and we are having fun with the grandkids. Hope you enjoying Nashville! Be well, Stay cool! ❤😎

    Ashley, I was there, infront of Graceland, the day they brought Elvis back for his funeral... I have not seen it anywhere else, but to let you know that you can add to your information, they did not bring him through the gates, they brought him through the back entrance (of course the gate area was packed and there were hundreds of photographers there) they all went running when when saw the hearse coming down EP Blvd and then just as it got to that backroad, 'gunned' it and went to the back entrance...

      There would have been a mob of people all around the hearse and probably some throwing their bodies on it... you will NOT find any pics of them bringing him through the back entrance as all photographers were at the front gate...

    Wow Ashley, you really cleared up a lot of questions about Graceland! I loved seeing the photo's of how things used to look compared to how they look now. It is also great to see where the trailers were and more about the stables/barn area. I'm finally clearer about a lot of things, like the "secret" driveway and such. Wouldn't this have been great done on site and you showing us everything?! LOL I know the upstairs is private as it should be, but of course we are all curious about it and I loved seeing the floor plan and the photo of young Elvis standing in his empty bedroom, you can see the wheels spinning in his mind on how he wanted it to be. LOL As always, great video Ashley, you really put so much detail into these video's! Thanks for all you do!

    To help with the attic confusion: my grandparents had a Georgian colonial like this and the basics of the layout are very similar. They lived there until I was almost 13 so I remember the layout well. That door you pointed out would open at the bottom of a regular set of stairs to the attic. These homes usually had a great deal of attic space. We had our out of season clothes clothes on old consignment racks to get them out of the way. Blanket and coats kept in cedar chests and the seasonal decorations that could withstand the heat or cold were placed in a very important system. The others decorations were in the large closet under the stairs. Southerners do their holidays with a rhythm.

    @ashleysadventures I had to stop at the photo of Elvis on the couch with pink slacks and yellow jacket. I noticed he has a pretty good boo boo on his right pinky. I recently saw video where he had a large bandage on that same pinky. He was in his uniform. Is it possible this is the same recovering pinky finger. This is also one of my most favorite pictures. I love it so much because he is so relaxed. I noticed we now have red drapes.

    Hi Ashley, your videos and knowledge of Elvis history are amazing! In this video at about 3:30, there is a picture of Elvis with a young lady who had polio which most internet sources date as 01/08/1958. In the book, "Elvis' Man Friday", his cousin Gene describes a massive food fight in a hotel in Hollywood on the same day, explicitly stating Elvis was upset not to spend his birthday at home and details about a birthday cake. I have not been able to find a contemporary source which documents either the date of the picture or Gene's story. Based on some other references I have found to when Elvis took the train back to Hollywood in January '58, I believe Gene's recollection to be mistaken about the date. Do you have any idea when the food fight Gene references took place or if it did, in fact, occur? Do you think there is any reason to doubt the date the picture was taken on 01/08/1958? Thank you for your thoughts.

    • @ashleysadventures
      @ashleysadventures  11 місяців тому

      Hey Manly, Thank you! I don’t know anything about this food fight but I’m positive about 1/8 being the date he had the child over for a photoshoot. It’s well documented. Anita Wood talks about being upstairs the whole time in her book. Hope that helps!

    Just recently found your channel! Fantastic content! I have always wondered, I know they removed the "red" living room and placed it back to earlier with the long sofa, music room piano etc.
    Can anyone please tell me, is the current furniture the very same furniture from prior to the 70s red change? Is it indeed the same long sofa? Same white piano etc? If so, where was all that stuff stored? If not, how much of what we see today, reproduction and what is authentic original?

    • @ashleysadventures
      @ashleysadventures  4 місяці тому

      Welcome to the channel! Thank you for tuning in!
      It is the same furniture just the couch was reupholstered. Vernon never got rid of anything and a lot of the items were stored in the attic (not the piano of course), so when Graceland was redecorated in 1982, they just brought all the furniture back in.
      Elvis sold the white piano in 1976 and it came back to Graceland a few years ago. You can read about it here: www.graceland.com/elvis-news/posts/most-significant-elvis-presley-musical-artifact-returns-home-to-graceland

    I’m the 90’s and beyond, the EPE offices and media facility was to the left of the Graceland church. It appears that it is still hidden from view by a fence and a gate. They took us there when we shot video there in 1995. For a local TV show. I was fortunate enough to be able to walk about the grounds with Todd and roam around alone for certain parts where I was not needed for filming.
    That was a very cool day!!

    Oh I loved your videos Ashley xx (wish you hadn't sold out to sponsors though). Don't you make money off views, why do you have to commercialise it further. Not for me sweetheart, all the best.

    • @ashleysadventures

      Sponsorships are a big achievement for a small creator like myself, but especially when it’s something incredibly important to me like mental health. I am proud to have gained a relationship with a brand I was already utilizing that helps me get through the toxicity of being a person on the internet. Being able to share that with others, and at a discount, is really gratifying.
      …I’ve only had 2 in 5 years of creating videos! That’s just 2 videos with a 90 second ad you can easily fast forward.
      Totally fine if anyone doesn’t agree with that ✌️

    Hi there..love your Graceland Videos...2 questions..1st is on downstairs bathrooms. I notice one bathroom in parents room and one in Aunt Delta's room..was there not a bathroom that guests could use when visiting?...and 2nd question is about stairs that lead to basement...there is one at the kitchen/jungle room that was the outside entrance long ago but isn't there another one with mirrors (Infinity stairs) maybe..if so where do you access that one?..thank you so much for your videos!

    • @ashleysadventures
      @ashleysadventures  Рік тому

      Guests would use the small half bath in the hallway in the basement that's right off the pool room. Yes, on the tour, you visit the kitchen then walk in the hallway between the kitchen and the parents' bedroom. The mirrored staircase in underneath the main staircase. Thank you for tuning into my videos!

    Hi all, I may be late to this option. But about 3 weeks ago I discovered the thanks option on these videos. I love having the ability of “leaving a tip” for UA-cam show that I find valuable. I know most UA-camrs are not making money for the time and effort that give in bringing us content. Consider “leaving a tip”. To say thanks . You can do as little as $1.99.

    Yet again Ashley another great piece on graceland. According to a friend of mine who had the chance to visit the upstairs in 1989! The inside of the door leading to the attic was painted blue.!
    At that time in the attic were wooden chests with Gladys clothes and handbags, also there were curtains and furniture from the "red era! Keep up the great videos looking forward o the next installment

    Ashley, you mention at the very end of the video when describing Vernon's house on Dolan that the very last house on the corner was Gary Pepper's. ???? Gary lived at 793 Eva Street in Memphis in all the years we got our Tankers Fan Club letters and items from. I don't remember him having moved closer to Graceland. Is that perhaps Eva Street back there somehow?

    • @ashleysadventures
      @ashleysadventures  Рік тому +2

      Yes! During the fan club years he lived on Eva St. In 1976, his live-in nurse bought the house next to Vernon’s on Dolan and he lived there a few years.
      I’ve created a handful of videos on Gary and his life if you’re interested!
