I'd love to see this series get a refresh. Like a back to basics series. I've noticed my crucible sessions getting worse and worse. Trials was a real wake up to where I sit skill wise. Any tips to help me improve my kd are appreciated.
You are rapidly becoming my favourite Destiny UA-camr...! I love your content, It's so straight forward and you are extremely easy to listen to. I love how there are no gimmicks or shouting and acting like a buffoon, just simplicity at its finest. I also love your willingness to give back to your followers to help them become better players. Very unselfish, top top trait to have. Keep those quality vids coming CoolGuy.
Just making the rounds to all the youtubers that helped me with all of this free advice and content. Thank you, got my Luna's Howl Sunday morning after almost 2 months of grinding. Most of that progress was actually made in 2 weekends following your tips and my ranking shot up. I want to thank you sincerely. So worth it!
I have over 2500 hours into D2 alone and I still love those videos Coolguy! Keep up the fantastic work! I still don’t understand why u don’t have a couple hundred thousand subscribers. Everybody make sure to thumbs up and subscribe
7:33 I love the pause and the screen/vid cap of the moment when that striker flies right off the map. You can see everyone looking thinking "did he just... yep, he did."
Came back to watch just to calm down before jumping back into some pvp , classic video bro. 8:18 on and the perspective on camping is an easy concept but still we call it camping and get mad 😭😭
Thank you. Maybe now some of my blueberries will improve. I also miss this kind of quick tactical thinking type content from my favorite destiny youtubers. You think most of would know how to play with primary but with control all anyone goes for is the kill on the objectives. One step at a time.
Great as always man. You know D2 is heading in the right direction with a brighter future when coolguy loads up vids like these. Since D1 you have made me a better pvp player. Thank you.
Eyy you covered crosshairs even simpler than I expected, great job. Now I just hope a lot of players take these topics and hone them. Side note, love to see the server grow day by day its going super well and i expect it to boom come forsaken. Keep up the good work 👍
I think that is so cool. The server is a little living world lol. Policing itself most of the time too! I am glad that players are using it and finding games.
I do most of the things you describe, but still I think is quite hard to brake it down and explain in a ever so simple way as you do, so kudos to you man! I also find 🤔 interesting to reflect on other people’s take on things. Let’s take the “camping” definition thing, I do agree that there’s a misconception around this subject, but I’m not sure most people call what you described as camping. Correct me if I’m wrong but, using a specifically ranged weapon at a specific distance (pertinent to the range of said weapon) from a position of advantage cannot be called camping. Is also is a very much valid tactic. (So IMHO shotgunning at a corner is not exactly “camping” either). I would define camping as exploitation of a particular spot of the map that gives a positional advantage to a choke point and is very hard to counter (so corner-shotgunning could also be camping depending on the situation I guess..lol). And by the way, I also find it to be a valid tactic as well, even if not very elegant. Heck, real life snipers are most of the time “campers” and pick “defenseless” targets and people find them super cool 😎 for that..lol Where I think the misconception lies is in the way people @ the “receiving end” feel about it. And man this discussion has been “alive” for ever (or @ least for as long as I’ve been playing multiplayer FPS..about 2 decades by now..lol). When people are taken out by a huge gap in advantage/disadvantage, the first thing that comes to mind is not a counter for said situation, but rage/grief of being taken out by something that feels “cheap” in their point of view. I’m not pretentious enough to request anything, but I sure would like to see a vid with D2 “camping” spots and possible counters. I feel it would make for an interesting one, given you’re very good at break-downs and clear explanations. Plus to give people more “tools” could introduce more variety which is, most of the time, a good thing. Again, thanks for the content, and cheers..
Very true point. I can understand the grief comment honestly bc many times we find ourselves hit "out of nowhere" dead not realizing that the long range guy in the back killed us. Or the scenario when you round a corner thinking there's only 1 enemy on your radar to find 2 or 3 in said position: instant death. Many times it comes down to loadout of the enemy team, (whether they're using meta or not meta weapons), tactics on your teams part, and your decisions. The nature of the beast is not exactly "fairness" how we would want it to be, but what people see as a winning strategy. That's what makes it interesting I guess.
Your absolutely right decicion making is what really seperates a player well above average or top tier and below. Im an average player on pc the majority of my deaths come from poor decicion making.
I have down already weapon preaming and aming at center of the screen - im not running while looking down anymore (huge muscle memory for me in D1) but i still have problems with spawns and reading what my team doing at times and sometimes im at enemy spawn not even realizing that. Thank you for sharing the knowledge ,it helps those slow learners like me :)
Thank you Cool Guy for your videos, I found them very useful and informative as well as entertaining. I have only today found you on UA-cam and I am busy catching up up on your vids. Keep up the great work from a very happy new subscriber.
It's funny actually; I do most everything you cover in this video (most of the time lol), but I never actually put that much thought into it. Thank you for putting into words what I never could and making me realize the constant decision making that can go into a match. Now that I'm aware of it, I know what to specifically focus on to improve.
I quit during curse when the meta was drastically different than it is today. I think that has a lot to do with my failings now as I am having a lot of trouble adapting to the new pulse/shotgun meta. My loadout of choice before was sythoceps, void titan for overshield melee and antiope. It was very successful against mida that was everwhere. Now trying to play that way just gets me shotgunned in the face. I just need to get more crucible hours in and find a load out that fits my play style.
Great video and awesome tips that i think even the better than average players forget but can always improve on. Been grinding for the claymore and been trying these tips out in comp gameplay
When I was using the jade rabbit as U said I was accused of camping by none other than true vanguard on stream ( I was unlucky enough to match make him ) not sure what ppl expect u to do with a long range weapon like jade so thank you for clearing up the what is camping scenario
Trues story I watched this video and literally changed my crucible success. I had a few bounties for weapons hanging about because of crucible that I never finished. I swear after this video I instantly went into crubile and in 3 games finished my 25 precision hand cannon kills for ace of spades which I been playing here n there for months and only got 7 kills... I finished the rest in 3 games after this video... and my solar void and Arc kills for some weapon I'm not sure of yet plus my 100% pulse rifle kills. I will never get the Lunas howl however lol ugh it sucks soo hard trying to get hand cannon precision kills in competitive when everyone has the top hand cannons against u. Aka Lunas howl. Trust and not forgotten.
Hey, Cool Guy, have you used the blue auto rifle Ros Lysis II? I’ve found myself winning a ton of gunfights in mid and close range encounters and I find it really nice to use, specially with reload speed gloves and chest with my dawnblade warlock, anyway, thanks for the content!
Sometimes I tend to over correct, I work with my hands for a living and it's starting to affect my dexterity, do you think a scuff would help with this? Great video as always, CoolGuy#ProfessorCrucible! LOL!
Do you have any tips on playing really aggressive? Crucible now is so boring with all this long range gameplay. Hopefully things will change after tomorrow.
I understand that you need to close the distance if you get killed from a distance, you have tools to do that with close up weapons and angles. But I want a solution for the opposite situation. Here's the deal for me in this meta, which will probably change for Forsaken: you have no tool to deal with SMG and shotgun rushers. They take angles, they are fast, and I believe we don't have any tool to deal with them YET because fusions and shotguns are still heavy weapons. Can I have your thoughts on a way to deal with rushers, which I believe where already an infuriating playstyle back in D1 ?
What I like to do ( kind of at the end of this video with Polaris lance) is get into a power position and terrorize them. If you do it enough, you will have players rush you. Then you start thinking about where you want to be when that happens. In that lance clip, I wanted to be at that bridge. It's open. I can drop down. I can go to my right by the boats. When you run something like the lance or jade and SMG is ideal. The key to rushers is take 1 shot at them ( or 2 depending on how fast they are closing in). That is key. Don't pull out the smg and go full defense. If you land a good shot as they are closing in, like a 57 headshot from polaris lance, then you have taken out more than 1/4 of their health before they start shooting. After that 1 ( or 2) shots you switch to your CQC weapon. They are softened up a bit. That will get better with forsaken. Precision damage is going up. Same scenario a handcannon can do 70+ damage and then you switch to your CQC. That is what you want though man. Controling them. Making them seek you out.
The Pulse Rifle he was using is the Redrix's Claymore/Broadsword. For Hand Cannons he used Better Devils, Trust, and Sturm. The Scout Rifle he was using on midtown is the Polaris Lance.
7:31 lol that titan
lol MY PEOPLE NEED ME!
I thought the same thing...and chuckled when CoolGuy stood there for a moment, and decided to clip it. 😂
I'd love to see this series get a refresh. Like a back to basics series. I've noticed my crucible sessions getting worse and worse. Trials was a real wake up to where I sit skill wise. Any tips to help me improve my kd are appreciated.

How bad getting caught in sprint is never even occurred to me. I love these videos. You help me improve even though I can't play/practice a lot.
Always awesome! Thanks for bringing real substance to the Destiny 2 UA-cam community. I learn so much!
Just want to say, I love your content, you're clear, concise and positive. Always a joy to hear your live-thinking commentary while in the crucible.
This is so good. You are the Coach Kavanagh of Destiny. Win or learn. Great stuff.
Came back to watch just to calm down before jumping back into some pvp , classic video bro. 8:18 on and the perspective on camping is an easy concept but still we call it camping and get mad 😭😭
I consider you as 1 of the smartest player in all of destiny. Keep up the great videos we really appriciate it
My lunch break at work just got a little....cooler. Yeeeeeeah!
Iron Markkus same here.
Iron Markkus I see what you did bro lol
Thank you. Maybe now some of my blueberries will improve. I also miss this kind of quick tactical thinking type content from my favorite destiny youtubers. You think most of would know how to play with primary but with control all anyone goes for is the kill on the objectives. One step at a time.
Looking forward to more of your breakdown vids, bud.
The game hasn't been in a spot until now leading to forsaken to talk about this kind of stuff man. I am glad the game is moving forward.
Great as always man. You know D2 is heading in the right direction with a brighter future when coolguy loads up vids like these. Since D1 you have made me a better pvp player. Thank you.
No matter how good you get there is always something to look up to.
Lovely tips- I'll work on better positioning and the initial strafe
Brilliant and simply explained - great vid. How anyone could down vote this is beyond me. CoolGuy is the college tutor of Destiny)
Eyy you covered crosshairs even simpler than I expected, great job. Now I just hope a lot of players take these topics and hone them.

This is the d2 cool guy I have been waiting for.
Yeah, more of this please. No one else is doing it well currently, and with Foresaken around the corner...

たかピコ well said bro
Dfuq this took alot time writing hah lol
x_Melt_ x, lol, not really, no... using a keyboard helps a lot... but now that you’ve pointed out, it’s an awful longer than I remember... lmao...

Happy to see these videos come back!

Thank you Cool Guy for your videos, I found them very useful and informative as well as entertaining. I have only today found you on UA-cam and I am busy catching up up on your vids. Keep up the great work from a very happy new subscriber.

Yo thanks for the tips. Doing IB right now and my kills went up expentipnally. Low deaths and I'm. More than halfway done with the bounties in 8 games
It's funny actually; I do most everything you cover in this video (most of the time lol), but I never actually put that much thought into it. Thank you for putting into words what I never could and making me realize the constant decision making that can go into a match. As usual I love your style and approach to tutorials for other players keep it up enjoy the content
Really great video, as always. I'd love to see some more on the topic of pre-aim and crosshair placement. Cheers!

Once again great video :) keep up the good work.
A little confused about the spawn part of this video, but other than that I understand, thanks.
Hey CG, you must make a video on How to improve in competitive. What do you think about that?
Trues story I watched this video and literally changed my crucible success. I had a few bounties for weapons hanging about because of crucible that I never finished. Damn, that’s a cool guy.
Hey coolguy can you do a review of the vanguard hand cannon The service revolver
Good stuff thanks!
I always learn something
Hey, Cool Guy, have you used the blue auto rifle Ros Lysis II? I’ve found myself winning a ton of gunfights in mid and close range encounters and I find it really nice to use, specially with reload speed gloves and chest with my dawnblade warlock, anyway, thanks for the content!
I missed the notification for this upload :’(
Sometimes I tend to over correct, I work with my hands for a living and it's starting to affect my dexterity, do you think a scuff would help with this? Great video as always, CoolGuy#ProfessorCrucible! LOL!
So when do we get a fusion rifle with a Desperado-like perk?
Do you have any tips on playing really aggressive? Crucible now is so boring with all this long range gameplay. Hopefully things will change after tomorrow.
thanks for the video ;)

*Shaxx voice THIS IS WHY I SUB!!!
Dang I am getting this down nice tips
What's the trick not be killed in sprint lock? Or whatever?
Strum overcharge + buffed empowering rift, possible crucible 1 shot in year 2 Destiny?
cobro1215 I think it will
In PvP empowering rift doesn't buff headshot damage
Finally getting better at using the Crimson. but i wont use it again after i get Caydes pew pew xD
You think you can get guardians to maybe try quickplay without Graviton Lance? Maybe?
Lol.
Great video! Thanks for the tips!
Who else liked before watching because it's CoolGuy?
Dropping jewels!
Most of these tips are universal but things are REALLY changing in a few days as far as crucible is concerned
I think it's going to be a blast. I really hope they knock it out of the park
CoolGuy me too man, I think they will
I hope you give us more of these tips after it does change! Seriously, good stuff
Damn good video. I'm subscrubblin
Where can I find crucible map plans?
hey how were you able to move so fast with the dawnblade?
burst glide in the super
ok thank you!
Nice vid
Thanks for the tips. I get so frustrated at how broken pvp seems!!!
I watched this one twice
Are you using scuf controller
You know your a pretty cool guy....
What sensitivity do u use?
I play on 5
Dude what gun are you using on this video
The Pulse Rifle he was using is the Redrix's Claymore/Broadsword. For Hand Cannons he used Better Devils, Trust, and Sturm. The Scout Rifle he was using on midtown is the Polaris Lance.
