this is really inspiring for me, I've always wanted my hair in that style but all my friends say I shouldn't do it. I've been trying to tell my self to donate my hair to cancer victims to make me edge forward and do it but it's so hard when people say otherwise.
prove them all wrong cause I'm sure you will suit it. any way it's just hair it will grow back. I've had my hair long all my life and I recently chopped all of it off and it feels so good to finally do it.

and then one day i took scissors to it and hacked it off to a bob. Ive maintained that length ever since, but i always really wanted to go shorter, but everybody kept saying not to do it, but this really gives me confidence to go ahead with it - thank you guys

also if you donate your hair don't give it to locks of love because now they charge the people for the wigs now rather then giving them as a donation. and they can charge the people anywhere from 200 to 350 dollars minimum.

+lindsayisprettyneat you can still donate dyed hair, all the hair that goes into making a wig is dyed anyway so having it dyed already shouldn't be an issue, its just finding the right place to donate
+bella voice yes you can but they will throw it out. they do color the hair but they need it to be your natural color so they can make hair from different peoples donation match. it is easier to do with healthy uncolored hair.

+nastja saminator I cried as a kid cutting mine off when I was 4'10 and 14 and it was a bout that long because it had been that length since I was a child and I had to cut it because I was starting to feel the early stages of genetic arthritis! I had to give it up as I could no longer manage it and I didn't want to let it go! Recently, like a year and a half ago I recently had to get a third more of it cut off when it was half way down my back at my permanent height of 5'1 and half not only for manageability as I felt it getting harder to manage but also for the health of the hair! I wasn't just crying because of the loss of the hair I loved to play with but because losing it at that point was a reminder of the disease that was ravaging my body and my parents were refusing to diagnose as my father the "doctor" claimed it was too early to say it was anything more than a pulled muscle! I had to give up the first half I lost at 14 before I was diagnosed 3 years later! Losing it was also a reminder of the arrogance and abuse of the family that didn't give a damn about me and what I had to do so the weight of the hair didn't hurt! The hair that was my security blanket whenever the gave me shit and hit me and beat me for being disabled GONE! I have known people that have gone through similar that's why some women cry when they lose it!

But like Giada said, it depends on the person and how fast their hair grows. Some it takes forever some it grows quicker
+Terri Meade yes I know it depends on the person but I don't think you realise how slow hair grows. I took fast hair growth into consideration and that's why I said 4 years if she's lucky. even if she grew an inch a month which is TWICE the normal rate it would still take about 4 years. and that's without any trims at all.
