That turned out really good! My worst appointment was back in the late 70's when I went to a professional to perm my hair. My hair was burnt, the tips of my ears were burnt, the curls were tight and frizzy. It was a nightmare. I was in the military at that time and I had a hard time getting my hats to fit. I haven't thought about that in years.
Thank you. Omg that story is hilarious. That sounds horrible though. If someone burnt my ears I'd really be traumatized. I'm sorry I brought that memory back lol
My worst hair salon experience was over ten years ago. The guy was recommended by a friend and supposed to be good. Well he was rough, he jerked my head around, yanked my hair when he was combing it, he cut it much shorter than I wanted and he took a razor and tore at my hair when I specifically told him up front not to use a razor or thinning shears on my hair. When I told him to stop, he screeched at me that I don’t tell him how to cut hair. I was so upset that I went out to my car and cried afterwards. I went a full year without getting a haircut. On the second date with my new guy, he cooked dinner for me and it was really good, and I complimented him on the meal and jokingly said that it was too bad that he couldn’t give me a haircut too. Well he did say he knew how to cut a lady’s hair and he could if I wanted him to. I asked for details and he explained the process. I told him that I would think about, and the next morning I was at his house and informed him that I was there for my hair appointment. He had good hair shears, hair clips and he used a sheet for a cape. He sectioned, pinned up my hair with the clips, then he let my hair down in increments to trim each layer. I told him that it was bad, take off 4”, he said that he could get it shaped nicely just taking off an inch or so. Net result was that he did a great job, I was happily surprised when I inspected his work in the bathroom mirror. He has been the only one I have trusted to cut my hair since, never a bad haircut and my best friend has him trim her hair for her as well.
That's the worst when you actually cry after a hair appointment. What an asshole! That's so sweet that on a second date a guy offered to cut your hair. I'm assuming you're still with him if he's still cutting it?
Yes, still with him. He gives my teen boys their haircuts every three weeks as well as trimming my now elbow length hair every couple months. It saves me over a grand a year, he does a great job every time, never a bad haircut. I have also had a couple other friends of mine ask him for haircuts when they were visiting. So I definitely think that I have it good when my friends of my friends ask him to cut their hair. At a barbecue a couple years ago, a coworker/friend of my best friend asked hubby to cut her hair that was down to her thighs to her hips. She was tired of sitting on it, but hated salons.
