One thing about the NB ALD price point, I've spent 150-180 on Nike shoes and the quality has been terrible, I've spent more than that on NB shoes and never had an issue with New Balance quality. You get what you pay for.
Absolutely but it’s not all annoying. My Moms still telling stories of me cleaning shoes at age 10 is still cute & when I’m genuinely asked for help I don’t mind. The other day my Sister in Law was saying she can’t wear anything except runners and she was bummed, I was like, that’s the best genre to be “stuck” in spouting New Balance numbers & my fave 700 colors pointing down at my red Max 1 Anniversaries
Joe has all the elements of a superstar …. I want to see him take over the conversation when he has a take….. I just want to hear what he thinks unfilter. 👂
Back in the day I resold to be able to cop a future sneaker I want with the profit made. Or sometimes double up on shoes with the profit. Even if some were $40-60 profit, it went towards my next personal shoe. And raffles weren’t as hectic to get into
Is has never been about the recognition The feeling of your first shoe that you wanted for a long time would change your entire demeanor like you feel taller walking around Walking 🚶🏻♂️
New Balance gave me life 6 years ago after my knee surgery!!! I really should've never underestimated this shoe prior to my knee injury!! Now I know! I don't care about the trend & bandwagon that everyone is jock'n, I need to be able to walk! Shout out to @NewBalance & their great body dynamic when it comes to the foot, knee & back!!
Super happy this happened to resellers, this will slow down a lot of them and make people leave since now they don’t have that plug. I will never feel sorry for thieves
We at ArtistBrand want to create a docu series on UA-cam that digs deep into the rabbit hole of the Sneaker/Reselling culture and how it went from being a niche and great environment into a toxic and larger than imagined environment. Complex sneakers podcast needs to narrate it😂😂
Welty missed how this affects normal consumers. I’m not sure about zadeh’s volume but I think him buying large quantities of the same shoe on StockX very well could have artificially driven up resale prices causing normal consumers to overpay on the resale market.
All my sneaker are for streetwear but i have a professional job and i hate wearing dress shoes. What sneakers are best to wear to the office ? Size 9-9.5
anyone have Aimé Leon Dore brown leather 991 at retail ? size 11 please. i have the grey suede pair coming in as i hit the raffle for one pair . trying to complete the set i been copping new balance and the $275 is nothing knew to serious new balance collectors. thanks in advance ✊️🙏
100% agree on the demographic of who you see as a reseller. Especially from seeing who's in the community 16-25 is really the spot. I also believe it's that age group due to fewer debts held at those ages. People at 18 are not generally strapped with a mortgage, and fewer people rightly are going to college (go to a trade school folks). So in their day-to-day, they can take a standard pay check and start turning it into something more.
Ponzi scheme vs pyramid scheme had welty on the ropes.....The new balance rant was all facts though. People need to understand that NBs are premium materials and not priced on hype.
speaking about Zadehkicks, I get that to the outside world of non resellers, this isn't a big deal. Kinda what Welty was saying. But for resellers and stores, this was a huge deal. And its easy to be apathetic to the reseller community for trusting this very obvious ponzi scheme but the truth of the matter is that Zadeh took advantage of largely young individuals who were attracted to the low prices. Regardless of who the victim is, its a messed up situation
Y’all on the money with those 4s koston wearing it has the wear testing text on the midsole prob won’t be that color way tho since they usually do all black shoes
I’ve ordered off of Zadehkicks twice before he went down and got the shoes I ordered both times just a shame that he was running a business that eventually ended up underground and leaving people without their money, I buy sneakers to wear and collect and if I don’t end up liking a sneaker I sell it to put the money I make towards other shoes I want to purchase that “$65” I make off of a shoe sale goes towards my next pair I don’t sell sneakers to make a living I sell them to purchase rarer more sought after pairs
Really admired the work on them pink JFG NBs but the unintentional loyalty to Nike Adidas n late 90-early 2000s Reebok jus won't let me pull the trigger. Nothing against smaller and or recently established brands cause I own a few customs n asics, fila, diadora, etc but I've never been a NB guy. Always branded em as dad shoes n jus wasn't my style growing up as Ive copped what I like.
These guys are playing this Zadeh situation pretty close to the vest. Brendan def knows a whole lot hes not commenting on now until more facts come out
@@TytoPhodilus yes they took 4 months after drop date but always received, that why I wasn’t tripping cause it take months before I wear cause I have so many. 4 breds was my last shoes from him
Not everyone that bought from Zadeh are resellers. Many people have preordered a few thousand worth for personals because it felt like a better price than the pair(s) will resell for when they finally do drop.
Joe H definitely was supplying Zadehkickz 10000% and once 2020 hit Joe said he needed to kick rocks as he was gonna make much more resellin on his own platform.
Alright, so I'll keep posting this on every episode in 2022 until eBay and Complex let overseas folks participate in the giveaway... If we can sell on eBay and pay fees, we should be able to participate.
when it comes to Zadeh people forget stockx didnt exist before 2015. The earliest pre orders were 2010 and I met him on ebay in 2008. Most of these online sleuths are new bootys lol
The Zadeh conversation was handled very poorly. It's the title of the video and the lack of research and education on the topic is frustrating. You've got a large platform and the opportunity to really dive into the topic and shed light on what happened. You guys so confidently described what a Ponzi scheme is but were completely wrong. What you described is a Pyramid scheme, a big difference. Zero substance in this video, do better...
Oh my god it’s the end of life as we know it. People can Google it if they care that much. Also I doubt there’s a lot of people that care that much about the Zadeh situation.
@@CanKick lol then why is it the title of the video? They don’t just come up with UA-cam titles for fun. They did it because it’s trending and they thought it would bring in views. If ur going to do that at least take the time to do ur research.
@@CanKick I get that and understand. My biggest issue is the misinformation and confidently explaining something that you clearly didn’t even take 2 minutes to research. Mainly with the guy that wrongly described what a Ponzi scheme is. Just seemed lazy.
What Matt describes about a tiered structure sounds more like a pyramid scheme than a ponzi zcheme. A ponzi scheme isn't strictly a tiered structure, it's linear over time. /IF/ Zadeh Kicks were a ponzi scheme, the idea would be that they use today's pre-order money to buy and ship the sneakers for yesterday's customers, knowing that yesterday's customers getting their shoes will build the hype needed for even more customers to place pre-orders tomorrow, which will actually go towards buying and shipping today's pre-orders. This is one way to sell shoes for less than you actually pay for them - as long as more customers put money in tomorrow, there's enough money in the system to cover today's orders. If less people buy in tomorrow, it all falls apart. It sounds like it could have played out like this, just stretched over months to help cover fluctuations, and they could have done this sudden liquidation because the customer base was no longer growing fast enough. I want to make it super clear I'm not accusing Zadeh Kicks of doing this, just that a sneaker ponzi scheme where sneakers are sold for under their market price could play out this way. An investment ponzi scheme is the same idea, but just cash in and out rather than exchanging it for sneakers. Sneakers are probably easier to pull off, because sneakers fluctuate in value, so you can play that to close the gap, whereas in the Bernie Madoff situation, $1 always equals $1 so the scheme is closer to the knife's edge.
@@slumpdpapiii8038 Yeah 💯 this is the part ponzi con artists don't like to think about when they're starting out - they may even really believe they aren't con artists and they just came up with a smart business model. But a big chunk of those 600 000 pre-order payments would have been needed to pay off the last few batches of pre-orders. So what's he going to do next time? Sell 6,000,000 pre-orders to finally buy the other 594 000 Cool Grey 11s? Then 6,000,000,000 to hook up the last few million customers? Same with most of these scams, it doesn't take long until the math outgrows reality.

The dude definitely deserves to be doxed he’s given his customers no answers I’m surprised people aren’t stealing his house and waiting for him to leave
It was fun sliding his cars around while he got free loans from all of you. Wish I had a scheme where I could be that careless with other peoples money… it’s especially funny when it’s a market with known absurd values and preorders that clearly aren’t a guarantee.

the fire sale was really due to a fire. I bought some pairs from that sale and some had some ash on the sole but it was fine.
Onisuka Tiger’s are the GOAT yellow sneakers
Just release the 2.5 or restock the 2.0 of the mars yards. They are a beautiful and simple shoe.
I feel like the general purpose shoe is kinda over correcting after Nike came out with the overshoe.
