    I have had the smaller machine for 2 years. Actually, mine is a Vevor with a yellow face plate instead of the orange face plate of this model... but otherwise very similar. It has been a great machine. You can use a 10" x 13" bag in the smaller machine. That machine absolutely is enough for most home users, or at least users like me. I do the usual stuff... buy meat in bulk, preserve cut foods (like a half of an avocado), preserve dry goods, like rice. Anyway, a few months back I also bought the larger model. Why? well the "reason" was that I started to Sous Vide stuff and I could do two bags at once with the larger sealing bar. Honestly, the real reason is that I like gadgets. Both machines are great and are real values.

      I agree both are great machines and my larger one has been through a couple thousand bags with no issues. This one definitely would be good for most people and looks like it should last. Thanks for watching.

    If you could get some of the material over the sealer bar i think you could do 2 bags at a time with a piece of that sealer material between them. That would save wear and tear on machine and power good luck thanks for all your videos and i am glad your feeling better

    Good morning, URHC, hope you are both keeping safe and well, that looks like an other great product from Vevor, good idea for wooden Dowels, Biscuits, domino’s , I was reading something last year where are they now? Vacuum kiln dry timber, never used any of it so I don’t know what it is like, I cannot remember if I’ve left you a message already, But I did finally go out and purchase a ride on lawnmower, Toro , It is a tool that I need to get used to, I ended up putting it into the river, luckily I did not go all the way in, But it did take me nearly 2 hours to pull it out with my electric winch by time I’ve got everything all sorted, When I had my John Deere ride on, I can go along the embankment about 2 foot away from the edge. I’ve never had any problems., Having two levers to control it, and very close to the river I’ve decided as a no-no at least a meter, it did do a very good job, especially as I’ve got grass nearly in some places 3 feet high stinging nettles and brambles and whatever, The grass has not been cut properly for the best part of four years, I just go around occasionally with a strimmer,
    Keep up the great work , stay safe, look forward to your next territorial, France.

      Many biy operations run vacuum kilns now. It supposedly is the fastest way to dry slabs with very little distortion. You should join the Forestry Forum wher a lot if information about them is in the lumber drying section. www.forestryforum. com. I heard about your mower and be very careful on slopes or damp areas because they loose traction easily and without steering there's no control when sliding. It's almost like AI takes control and tries to kill you. Thanks for watching.

      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 ohh well. I missed the deal. I still ordered it and used your link and code.

      Thanks, I think you will be very pleased with it compared to the foodsaver. Everything stays better in the freezer with the chamber sealer we have found. Just vary vacuum time for delicate items you don't want smooshed.

      I just sealed first bag of water. I am very impressed with the quality of this machine. I almost tweaked my back, carrying it down to the basement.
      Even though i didnt het the sale price, im still happy with the purchase.
      The manual is not written well. But your video showed what i needed to know.

      I think it is a great buy at the current price compared to other available machines. This one is much simpler then the bigger one and hopefully lasts as long. Chamber sealers really help keep frozen meats and veggies fresher longer and also let you get into sous vide. Hopefully you enjoy yours and yes they are heavy. I think shipping cost is probably 30% of the price.

    So I'm thinking about growing grains, for non messed about with wheat, I'm wondering if you can ask vevor about a grain mill and a sieve for hull removal? Thanks, Ed. I appreciate the work you do for food, something I look up to.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

      I purchased one of their power sifters for removing most of the corn outer shells when grinding grits. Still have to make something with a blower for the final cleanup. Wheat hull removal may not work with it though. I haven't seen anything specific they sell for that process though. I'll pass it on.

      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 so I've thought about the winnnow process, I think an air pop corn maker without the heating element just a blower and a variac to control the fan speed would work as it would stratify things in an air bed and the light stuff float away, kinda like gold panning but with air not water. There is a possibility of using a cyclone that you could 3d print and it would work much like a hydrocyclone separating heavy and light materials via vacuum

    I am very, very tempted. I've a new freezer that can use some filling and my old vacuum sealer leaves a bit, if you know what I mean. I've got a day or so to think on this. Thanks! Sounds like if I replicate the parts and pieces it should be smooth sailing.

      At $204 minus 5% this weekend it seems to be fantastic buy. If you don't do big items like roasts and chickens it should work fine. I think it may be an introduction price and may go up but not sure. We vacuum packed and froze everything last year. Or better yet find a neighbor with one you can borrow 🤔. Thanks for watching.

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I copycatted you and went ahead and bought the unit plus bags and vacuum oil. I figure I'll have a leg up on settings! Hope you enjoy yours. Last year we basically froze everything because the canning lids became overpriced and its easier. Being able to do tomatoes and sauces along with soups and things like juices and cider make these chamber type sealers worthwhile. only things we lower the vacuum for are chicken and meat with bones that can puncture bags easily with high vacuum making it look like a bad seal. I always stock up on bags during prime days when Avid armor also runs sales on their website with bulk packs. Let me know how you like yours after using a while.

    Mine is not pulling enough of a vacuum. It moves the needle just to the yellow/green line and won’t pull any more.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  3 дні тому

      Usually the only thing that causes that is the elevation above sea level your at. Above 200 feet the vacuum will drop off on all machines. The higher you go the lower the vacuum any pump can pull. If you're not above sea level check the seal area around the top and seal along with the internal hose fittings for tightness. I would contact Vevor if it is none of above and see what they say because it could be the pump or gauge. Mine has worked flawlessly so far and goes to full vacuum. Let me know how this is handled and the problem. Thanks for watching.

      I'm at about 100 feet. I think there's an online calculator that can give you the loss at different altitudes due to atmospheric pressure. Bags should evacuate fully at that pressure and altitude.

    I wonder if there is machine safe dye for the oil? And I'd start with synthetic myself, it doesn't break down and usually it has better heat resistance.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  11 днів тому

      Don't really need it if you pay attention. Figured that would be a good time to show how to drain it anyway. Synthetic is definitely the way to go. Got rid of the vapor smell on the big one. Thanks for watching.

      Ed, I just saw a reason to get on Alibre and design the right size holder for the bags that you can turn the top of the bag down. I am seriously considering getting one. It al.ost looks big enough to put a spool of 3D filament in.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  10 днів тому

      Kris a bag holder like that is on my list but near the end of it 😉. I don't think a roll of filament would fit and will try one tomorrow. I will let you know. I'm struggling to learn Davinchi Resolve right now. Thanks for watching

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  10 днів тому

      Kris. A roll will just barely fit but it needs a 11 1/2 wide bag so you couldn't seal it. My big one will because it has a 12 inch seal strip and can handle the 16 inch long bag needed to flatten the seal end.
