I remember seeing the ad for this with Eddie Fiola holding the Purple PFT. That S tube was like.. Whoa... I had to get one. It's cool to have 90% of the same bike my Mom got me back then. Growing up in the 80's was the best. Thanks for the comment!!
It always make my day when someone takes the time to leave a positive comment! I appreciate it!! Hopefully spring is around the corner and I can get them out and ride them some. Cheers!! :)
I would just get the re-issued gt power series cranks now and throw a team model sticker on there. This bikes is still my fav bike ever in blue and dayglo pink.
I for some reason never wanted the Team Model with the power series cranks. I dunno. I got this bike in 87 and 90% of it is still my original parts. Im glad I held onto it all this time. Thanks for the comments!
The GT's typically came with OGK wheels. The Haro Sport and Redlines seemed to be the bikes with Peregrines. i could be wrong though. Thanks for the comments.
My personal OG owned parts ( since 87) on this bike are: Frame, Wheels, Seat, Seat Clamp, Brakes front and back, epoch Head seat, Mallet Stem, Gyro, Bottom bracket, Bearings, Cranks. The Head tube, coin roll and frame stay decals are OG. I have the original White Power disc but I keep my TIoga Disc on ( mom bought it for me way back when) Parts that are OG that I sourced are: 87 Maui Blue Forks, Gt Pro Performer Bars, Mongoose silver SR 474 pedals. The Jive handles are from the early 90's but are old stock. I found some OG Frame decals on BMX museum. Parts that are OG I sourced but have been repainted are: GT Layback Seat post was done by C4 before someone sold it to me. The Tech 7 levers have been repainted white. New parts you can buy still on the bike are the Brake pads ( tuff pads) Gyro Cables and GT heritage Tires or Hp Panaracers.
I have a 87 power disc that was stock on it in a box here. Its funny i went with my Mom to get that Tioga compact disc sprocket in 88 and I have had it on the bike since. Tks for the comments!!
I just picked up a 1987 pro freestyle tour this week on craigslist. How can I tell if it is a team model or not (the decal isn’t there)? Would the serial number tell me? Any help anyone can provide would be much appreciated! Thank you!
The Team Model had the same frame as the regular Pro Freestyle Tour. The Team Model had 3 piece GT [power series cranks. I believe there was a Team Model Sticker that would have been on the top tube and those are the only differences really that I know of. What most people look for on PFT is on the left rear drop out under the serial number it will have a FS stamp below. Serial number should have somehting like 1087##### the first 2 number of serial is month then next 2 number is year so it should say 87. I hope that helps
Awesome to still have your!!!
Bad Ass bike man! I bought my White 87 Performer brand new and still own it. I need to clean it up and get some new tires and grips for it.

Awesome gift to get!! ;)
Where can u find the value for these bikes? I've searched bike bluebook but they don't list 80s bikes.
Facebook bmx freestyle pages, Bmx museum and Ebay sold listings can give you an idea.
any idea what size those tires are tubes are?
Tires on these are HP Panaracer 20 X 1.75

Im looking to buy this exact bike, but people on ebay wanting to much lol
Yea, I paid out the Arse for a few of my parts. I paid $350 for the forks but I don't miss the money! ;)
And nice this is when they changed the frame shape. It was a big deal
Yea the lower mount 990 and S frame blew people away on the 87 models.
Mine is all white but that blue is nice
You should make a video and i can check it out! ;) Thanks for the comment! :)
Do you still have the bike ? Would you like to sell it ?
I don't see me selling this one. Most of this bike is Original from when I bought it back in 1987. Tks for the comment! ;)
