When my Dad died from leukemia 9 years ago, all of a sudden certain aspects of Christ's sacrifice became more real to me. I understood the admonition to "always remember" the Savior in a much more personal way as I pondered how I would remember my own father and honor his memory through the type of person I wanted to be. How would I make him real to my children, who had never met him? How would I not forget all the things he taught me, or simple things - like the way he smelled, or laughed or walked? I also gained a deep appreciation for Christ's gift of resurrection, that takes away the sting of death, allowing us to be reunited again with those we love some day.
Very inspiring song Ben. You really inspire me personally with your beautiful songs and your beautiful voice. I'm sure your father was very proud of you being a good person, a husband and a father to your 4 children. Indeed, Jesus Christ gave His life for our sins, died in a cross, and rose again to remind us that there'll be no more sufferings, pain, and hurt after death.
