This honestly was the last of the traditional Republican Party. After that... in less than a decade, Romney went from the head of the party to being on the fringe.

First election I remember. I yelled out at the polling place because my mom took me there and I said “Who is Mitt Romney and why did you check his name?” Her face turned red and the gentleman next to us laughed and said “I voted for him to kid.”
