Sure looks like an Achilles to me. That delayed sit down after they realize they can't flex their calf is how I've seen a lot of Achilles injuries look.
Those tendons and ligs aren't malleable as 25 at 40. He can't twist about cut like Barry Sanders anymore. Either you listen to the brain saying "adapt" old man or the body will tell you....the hard way!!
that's why when you are older as QB, if you see pass rusher coming in, there's no way you can outrun them..just fall down to min this kind of injuries.
Well said....Roger's tried to squirm away from sack...on that crappy turf?...he was his worst enemy..the play is over...pick your self up..dust your self off...live for another play.....should have went down.........thats on him.....Jests were lucky to come out on top....... the overated, out coached Bills gave the game away......😒
Agree, but Rodgers didn't even have a chance to do that. In slow motion you can see his Achilles rupture (calf muscle retracts and heel goes down) as his left cleat catches on the CrapstroTurf, before Floyd even really had a good grip on him - around the waist and nowhere near the legs or feet at all. This was turf-induced combined with 9+ years of degenerative Achilles tendinopathy.
I'm surprised more people aren't speaking about how the injury happened and the grass they are playing on. His foot got planted and caught up in the grass while trying to spin. If only they had real grass/dirt so his foot would have slipped through instead of getting tangled.
😅😅😅 did you not watch the Super Bowl last year? The grass at State Farm Stadium in PHX was real and the Chiefs/Eagles were slipping all over it. The turf ain’t the issue here…
All grass =/= whatever that shit Super Bowl grass was. Also, you're literally arguing *for* his point. Playing on grass it's possible Aaron's foot would've slid out while being tackled, rather than all the tension going into his achilles tendon. Playing on turf results in more injuries for not allowing enough cushion/slipping traction under extreme conditions. @@flanagamer 😅😅😅😅😅😅
The first rule for an offensive lineman is to block the guy running at the quarterback. How in the world do you manage to completely fail at this one task.
Not really. Rodgers need to play at least 65% of all snaps this season for the Packers to get the Jet's 1st round pick next year. If Rodgers is out, the pick is downgraded to 2nd round.
As a 42 year old about 5 months into my recovery from an Achilles tear, my heart goes out to Rodgers. Hate to see him go out like that. But that’s unfortunately probably curtains on a 39-year-old.
As a bears fan who has suffered at the hands of rodgers for years I still don't want to see it like this. I want him to have a shitty season for sure but not an injury.
@@cameramike2515Almost everything Rodgers related off the field the last 3 seasons at a minimum. He's the smartest man in every room and he loves to troll. We get it.
You've got to have a top notch line to protect a 40 something QB. He had free people rushing at him every play. Rodgers isn't supposed to be this brittle though!
@MetalJT24 Often, when a person strains their Achilles, they look around like they got hit with a rock. With KD, you can see his calf just roll up to his knee. This one was tougher to catch. It is a non-contact injury where the Achilles just decides to disengage from the Calcaneus. Result: Season over
Ruptured mine two weeks ago. Just popped while cutting at soccer and went down. Made no sense for me, and I wasn't be tackled by a giant football player. Just felt like someone kicked me in the back of the leg.
Achilles tendons are usually damaged from excess tension during ankle flexion. Front of his cleat became stuck square under him, and too much weight was leveraged against the flexed ankle by the defender. (Basically, the defender's weight pressed Rodger's heel to the turf when it wasn't supposed to be able to.) Could have happened to anyone.
0:30 Now that I see the play again, it seems that Rodgers wanted to be a hero, even though he knew that should've thrown it away. Aaron's too smart of a player to hold onto it like a rookie. Poor dude. No doubt it was the pressure, the excitement or the spotlight that made him hang onto the ball longer.
Yea, I don’t think he will be back at all. If it’s a surgical repair, that often takes 9-12 months. That’s hard to come back from for a 30 year old, very hard for a 40 year old. His clock was ticking before the injury, this is sad.
I watched it 20 times. Nobody hit that dude! He was never touched! He gets up, looks at the sidelines and goes down again. I'm saying this as a Saints fan. Craziest injury I've ever seen.
It’s unfortunate, but not unusual for guys who don’t get enough reps during the preseason. The speed of the game during the regular season is different, which is why Brady and Mahomes always played meaningful minutes in the preseason. That way, they could hit the ground running on opening day. Hope it’s just an ankle sprain.
I love how Eli just froze for a moment. I think that was the general feel. I mean the first five minutes?! Wow. Hope it isn't too bad. I also hope this will not be a second season of quarterbacks dropping like flies!
This shit is still insane didn’t even get to see this man complete a pass.. nun the less this has been the fastest off season EVER and arod is about to be in the running for cbpoy and mvp STAMP IT
The saddest part about this is all of the fans next to him on the stretcher with their phones out recording him. People are so disconnected from reality now 👎
Not really it’s a piece of history watching Rodgers go down at his keys debut. They’ll always have that video on their phone. I don’t see anything wrong with it
I've been a cheesehead since I was 10 now 39. This is so upsetting to me. Reminds me of when favre had a career ending injury with vikings playing the dirty saints. Yes it was when the saints were getting penalties for rough plays against all their opponents. Would never with this on anyone 😢
I call BS on the ruptured Achilles. He's standing there perfectly fine, then nonchalantly lays down on the ground, then walks off with a couple of trainers not even looking like he's in pain. Tell you what, no one with a ruptured Achilles walks off the field like that.
I have said this on Rich Eisen (RE) and other talk shows, Rodgers didn't look like he was seriously getting ready, unlike Tom Brady in his first season with the Bucs. Too many trips to Event such as Met Gala, Concerts, and other. He will get injured but I didn't think it would be only after 4 snaps. I thought it would be after 4 games that he would be first injured. He would play his 60% for pride but won't lead the Jets anywhere. Jets always proclaim outlandish things such as SB Contender and HoF QB before playing more than one season. It's like Karma or Mother Nature to always remind people to stay humble and keep your head down and perfect your craft. That hit didn't even look too hard and brutal.
Rodgers seeing green bay win without him and being like "fk dis, I wanna be the big news here". Am happy to see that with big ben retired he's taken over the diva role in the nfl.

Or the time he kicked a teenage girl in the face on camera because she allegedly refused to have sex with his friends.

Watching Eli in the zone mathing is a thing of beauty
Eli with that face bro!! Lmfao. Love it.
Aaron complained about the O-line throughout training camp smh

Hey Aaron, thanks for coming. Sincerely, New York Jets Fans.
The NFL script writers really had some surprises in store for week 1. Like game of thrones where they kill off your favorite character early on
What a perfect example! 😂😂😂
Sure looks like an Achilles to me. That delayed sit down after they realize they can't flex their calf is how I've seen a lot of Achilles injuries look.
Kevin Durant comes to mind
Those tendons and ligs aren't malleable as 25 at 40.
He can't twist about cut like Barry Sanders anymore. Either you listen to the brain saying "adapt" old man or the body will tell you....the hard way!!
And where’s your md grade from ? Ohh I see you don’t have one, right right right
@@obeyy0urmasterYou don't need to be a MD to understand simple biology
@@obeyy0urmaster well it’s confirmed he has a torn Achilles so… I’ve just watched sports for a long time and I’ve seen it before.
that's why when you are older as QB, if you see pass rusher coming in, there's no way you can outrun them..just fall down to min this kind of injuries.
That's how Tom Brady lasted forever. If the play is over it's over. Just fall down
Well said....Roger's tried to squirm away from sack...on that crappy turf?...he was his worst enemy..the play is over...pick your self up..dust your self off...live for another play.....should have went down.........thats on him.....Jests were lucky to come out on top....... the overated, out coached Bills gave the game away......😒
This was turf-induced combined with 9+ years of degenerative Achilles tendinopathy.
how can it be crappy turf, it's brand new this year. This turf is used all of the NFL at this point.@@martinleavitt6094
@@thejackalope2757 it was a cut block. Eli literally explained it in this video, which you clearly didn't watch or understand but still comment on😂🤦♂
bs stop regurgitations bs stats show there's negligible difference in injuries with grass and modern turf

Not really Eli’s fave has looked like that for the last 15 years 😂😂😂
Packers front office laying down some legendary high-fives right now.
Not really. Rodgers need to play at least 65% of all snaps this season for the Packers to get the Jet's 1st round pick next year.
If Rodgers is out, the pick is downgraded to 2nd round.
😂😂
@obi atleast they got rid of the diva that proved to be a baggage
If you hyped for him to get hurt, that's make you the BIGGEST loser.
Why they just lost a first round pick
The most New York Jets thing to ever happen, ever.
Nah, the most jets thing would include losing the game, they just barely avoided that and at least got the W.
As a 42 year old about 5 months into my recovery from an Achilles tear, my heart goes out to Rodgers. Hate to see him go out like that. But that’s unfortunately probably curtains on a 39-year-old.
To be fair his career isn't 39 years old, just him.
yeah, 39 years is a long time to play in the NFL
Do you have infinite money and a world class rehab at the touch of your fingertips?

Good to know Aaron was regretting his decision last night, too. He was running for his life all three of his pass plays.
Such nuanced commentary. Well done boys.
I'm a Chiefs fan and I was excited to watch the Jets play this year when I could. That really blows. Jets are a cursed franchise dude.

The Richard Todd, Kenny O’Brien reference is outstanding!!
Great banter from Peyton. 😀
Love the manning cast
I watched three times. I still didn’t see how Rodgers got hurt.
Same, it doesn’t seem like it got twisted, just…squished flat, sorta?
Squished is definitely a technical term.
Im still confused
Payton contorted till he looked like Gary Sinese!😂
Rodgers is the Achilles heel of the jets.
I love to watch the Mannings when I have trouble falling asleep.
We knew the tackles were a problem but wow
That might be the worst block I’ve ever seen from a starting LT
That was designed, Rodgers has to get the ball out
Peyton reaction PURE GOLD!!!! I imagine Rodgers be back in 4-6 weeks let’s hope but that 50 mill will make him feel better.
4-6 weeks?? Dude have you ever heard of an Achilles injury?
He won’t be back this season.
Yea, I don’t think he will be back at all. If it’s a surgical repair, that often takes 9-12 months. That’s hard to come back from for a 30 year old, very hard for a 40 year old. His clock was ticking before the injury, this is sad.
He is done for season / career
Its so good watching the game with the Bros.
Damn, I was so looking forward to seeing him play on another team.
😅😅😅😅He said I'm done for the season guys pay me my money
I watched it 20 times. Nobody hit that dude! He was never touched! He gets up, looks at the sidelines and goes down again. I'm saying this as a Saints fan. Craziest injury I've ever seen.

It’s unfortunate, but not unusual for guys who don’t get enough reps during the preseason. The speed of the game during the regular season is different, which is why Brady and Mahomes always played meaningful minutes in the preseason. I call BS on the ruptured Achilles. He's standing there perfectly fine, then nonchalantly lays down on the ground, then walks off with a couple of trainers not even looking like he's in pain. Tell you what, no one with a ruptured Achilles walks off the field like that.

Between the Manning Bros and Tony Romeo, watching FB is fun and educational for many.
