The best part of the weekend for me is my son coming over for the Sunday night football game. He's busy with work and school and I appreciate that he makes time to come over and eat me out of house and home.
U were mentioned today at TJs here in TN!! I was checking out and the cashier asked about my cinnamon cheese and I said I follow a lady who used to work at TJS who said it was good & the lady checking out next to me asked if I was talking about Katie and I said yes & she held up her cheese😅😅
I love to watch the expressions on your faces, that’s says it all. We went to TJ’s today and all they had left were the marshmallows. I definitely will be going back tomorrow. Weekends are the best. Spending time with my family. Most Sunday afternoons hubby and I prep food for the week. It gives us time to make plans for the week. Sounds boring but I love it. 😊
Love watching you guys ❤ What I love on the weekends is doing fun things as a whole family. I homeschool my kids so I’m with them through the week but being just mom instead of teacher mom is special to me
Yes, yes I do put marshmallows in coffee especially mochas. I made a latte w/cold brew concentrate, milk & those maple marshmallows; pretty good. Fun touch for topping mulled cider. Nice addition to blondies, especially with walnuts. Or some bar cookie that has a toasted marshmallow topper. If you're a sweet potato casserole w/marshmallow topper person, they'd be an easy upgrade. Though it'd be easier to just add maple to crispy rice bars, swapping some of these would work.
Great taste test! Thank you! After teaching for 30 years and am now in a new job, I am enjoying not having to do lesson plans and grade all weekend. I get to go to lunch with friends and my husband and relax all weekend! 🙂
@@katemiller7874 thank you, but I have not retired. I am still working full-time. I had to leave teaching. It is not what it was in the 90s when I started or even in the early or mid 2000s. The last couple of years there has been such an attack on teachers that I could not stay. I loved teaching children but there is just too much else going on that is not productive or helpful to anyone.
@@curlygurlxoI work for a state university in a program for people 50 and over to take classes for fun. It also contributes to my state retirement so it is a win-win. It is such a supportive and wonderful environment and I highly encourage you to look at a state university in your area for jobs. It is a night and day climate and culture difference and I am loving it! Best of luck to you!
Great taste test!! I haven’t been to Trader Joe’s in a while, and I am super afraid to go because I want all the fall things! You could make rice crispy treats out of the maple, marshmallows? And the granola, you could add a nice crunch to an oatmeal cookie. I would put them in a food processor. I have done that before and they are quite delicious or even yogurt parfaits? My favorite thing to do on the weekend is enjoy coffee in the morning with my husband catch up on some house work, dinner out as always nice and extra time with family.
After your haul, I was inspired to get up early and head off to T.J.s. I bought over $300 of stuff including the apple cinnamon rolls. I can't wait to try them! I look forward to getting rest during the weekend, and hanging out with a friend when I can.
I love sweet potato casserole, but it might get too sweet for me. I guess you can always adjust the sweetness to your preference, so I love this idea, thanks!
I really enjoyed the taste test! Most of the time on the weekends I am cleaning in my room and going through lots of memories, because I have so many things from my past in Seattle tucked in from when I moved here. I'm visually impaired so I take the time to enjoy each moment in each memory as I clean and organize. It's a never-ending battle because I don't go that fast, but there's so much treasure to be found. :-) I also have a million albums on my Facebook and I like to go through my photo boxes and bring in new photos to new albums and archive. I guess the weekend is all about those treasured memories.
Love your Trader Joe’s hauls and taste test. I look forward to them. 😊 That’s interesting about the bonbons packaging. The same thing happened to me when peeling off the plastic top. The whole outer plastic edge peeled off.
Those maple marshmallows could make a fun fall marshmallow treat. Perhaps using a cereal like waffle crisp? Or the standard rice krispies, but def a good opportunity to use them up for a kid treat. As for your question, now that my husband has returned to teaching, I quite enjoy having the weekends free for us to spend some quality time together! We have some fun festivals coming up, concerts, Renn Faire! And now that my pottery class is starting up again I am so AMPED to spend a weekend day in the studio again.
Ya’ll make my week every single time, from the haul to the taste test; thank you Katie & Tim! Placed my Halloween tee shirt order last week and can’t wait to get them soon! I work on Saturday so love spending Sunday with my grown kids and grandkids. 🥰
Hi, Katie and Tim! always good to join your taste tests! I appreciate your honest opinions ~ you are always right on. We buy similar things at TJ"s. Appreciate all you do to make your videos so entertaining and fun to watch and helps me make my grocery list. Cute shirts!
Omg im right with you with the Maple But I love the Popcorn and you say there not bring it back I'm so disappointed ? thanks for the update you 2 are great been watching you for a long while.
Katie's Dancing Skeleton's t-shirt is SUPER CUTE! Hey - what to do with those dozen bags of granola......make them into cookies by adding some sesame tahini, dried fruits, diced walnuts and bake in the over...............OR heck, just donate all dozen bags of granola to the food bank.
Weekends are for sleeping in, even if I only get an extra 30 minutes or so. Not a big granola fan either but you can mix into muffins, pancakes, etc. to use it up.
Maple cinnamon buns yes please. I will have to pick these up. The maple marshmallows, I would definitely try in coffee. I think it would add the right amount of sweetness you can control. Weekends are great for catching up or just to relax and go at your own pace without the worry of the normal work schedule. Just love it, goes by way too fast though. Awesome video 🤗
Great taste test! So many of the sweets sound good to me: the honeycrisp granola, those apple cinnamon buns, and especially the gluten free cookies since you two had such different reactions to them. For your question, I definitely love having unscheduled time. My weekdays as so highly scheduled it feels great to get up with that feeling of free time. 😊
Thank you both for doing this great haul. I would like the apple cinnamon roll. I'm not sure about the pumpkin ravioli. I hope you both have a great weekend! Until next week...😊❤
I wonder how the Apple granola would taste on the Apple cinnamon ice cream you all bought. The marshmallows might be good on a fun day pancake day for the kids.
I guess for people that like maple flavor, they could make maple flavored rice krispie trreats with the marshmallows. I'm not a big maple person, except on my pancakes.😅
What if you used the maple marshmallows to make home made rice crispy treats? Take it a step further and use Halloween cookie cutters to get fun shapes? That could be great for a themed party or kids treats
I wrote down 5 things from your hall and I was going to stop at trader Joe's today. Then he looked at those 5 things and they were all sweets so I decided I did not need those sweets so I didn't stop. But I'm sure I would have loved them!
Next time Benson's class has a party make favor packs with granola, maple marshmellows and any other snacky snacks that you find only meh. Kids will love it.
I think maple marshmallows make sense for sweet potatoe pie. Im betting a lot of people will do that. Raw marshmallows without toasting them is just awful for me too
Next fall, when we're all out there running the gauntlet of Trader Joe's new line of fog machine flavored falafel, cheese, and ice cream, we'll know who to blame... TIM. Thanks for another great haul!!
I personally LOVE the maple flavored marshmallows! I am putting them in my matcha (usually I drink it with just hot water, not latte), so the sweetness from the marshmallow will make it a bit maple-y sweet without adding any other sweetener. Also thinking of topping it on my black teas, like English breakfast or Earl Grey teas (again without the milk)...just for a change and added hint of sweetness. The bottom line for me is, I wouldn't add it to hot cocoa or drinks/foods that are already sweet by itself, but that's just me.
I think that pumpkin ravioli taste best with a sauce of butter or ghee. a bit of olive oil, salt, pepper, maybe a bit of sage as well, and some crushed fresh garlic, or a bit of chopped onion. I really don’t think tomato sauce goes with it.
Don't feel bad I don't like maple flavor either. It is too sweet. Sadly weekends are pretty much like every other day for me since I retired but I used to work weekends a lot so my weekends were actually weekdays, which sucked when everyone else was off on the weekend.
These taste tests are the highlights of my week! And WHYYY would they not bring back the maple popcorn?! Maple marshmallows seem a little senseless - like just add maple syrup to your hot cocoa if you really want that flavor. But the maple popcorn was out of this world 😭
Wait…..did I hear you say they aren’t bringing back the maple kettle corn? Or were you talking about something else? I swear we bought 20 of those bags last year😂
It really depends on each individual product and also how much stock your regions warehouse has of said product. Some stores will only get one shipment of something and then on another product be able to order until November. I’ve learned it’s just best to buy what you want when you see it in the store. Don’t wait, you will regret it.
The best part of the weekend for me is my son coming over for the Sunday night football game. He's busy with work and school and I appreciate that he makes time to come over and eat me out of house and home.

I love that Tim is taking more of a lead and explaining the products too
So true!!!!

I like the Farmer's markets on the weekend.
Maybe you can make maple Rice Krispie treats with those marshmallows.
Can’t wait to try the Apple cinnamon buns! Might need a Trader Joe’s run this weekend

Mashed sweet potato casserole with the maple marshmallow on top

Maybe the maple marshmallows in place of brown sugar on a sweet potato casserole.

Thank you again for a great tasting of different items at Trader Joe's, this really helps me decide on what to buy 👍
My son has been waiting for the maple kettle popcorn 😭
Melt marshmallows down for rice krispie treats??? Sunday morning coffee with my favorite family ❤❤❤❤❤
As my nieces would say 3 more sleeps til my move to south Carolina on Wednesday. I'm so excited for my new ife to start

Sage butter sauce is great with pumpkin ravioli.
Ok sooo cinnamon rolls are my jam!

Woohoo! I can’t wait for you to get them too. Thanks again for the support ❤️
A lightbulb went off in my head last week and I was like you having bags of granola, and decided to put it in milk like a cereal and it was good!
Try the GF pumpkin ravioli with browned butter and sage. Can add a bit of cream and garlic too. WAY better than with a red sauce!

use the maple marshmallows on top of sweet potatoes!!!
Even though they seem not all that great. Trader Joe's had an opportunity to make them into Maple Leaf shapes!!!!

Or maybe on a good fall flavored rice Krispie treat or in a popcorn ball.
probs some grated parmesan helps balance the sweetness of the gf-ravioli :)
I’ve seen recipes where people add granola to cookies or cookie bars made from scratch.
Maple marshmallow on sweet potato casserole ?
