Your ideas of subgenres aren't quite on the spot mate. Let me explain. Your jungle example is soooo far from what traditional and modern jungle actually is. Your examples for Jumpup however technically correct, shows me that you listing "Tour" as one of the example songs means you have only skimmed the very top of the DNB iceberg. Tour is literally a meme in the dnb community, if you was at the afters or had the aux in your mates car and put that on you would be fu*king violated by everyone. The example you showed for "hardcore", (which btw isn't even a proper name for a dnb subgenre) what you just showed there was Neuro/TechStep but a bit more low-key and also kinda had more of a Dancefloor BPM. The one you showed for Neurofunk isn't even Neuro, that's more techstep than Neuro (not crazy far off tho) And the one you showed for "Dark" (which is a pretty dead genre if you are trying to refer to "DarkCore") is straight up Neuro. Like that is undoubtedly Neurofunk. The second song example (Memory Lane) you gave for Minimalist, isn't Minimalist dnb, that's Dancefloor. You also missed out some veryyy honourable mentions like liquid DNB & Rollers, which has so many elements from different subgenres it makes it such a good all-rounder. It's good you're into your dnb mate, but your ideas on the subgenres (plus the fact you like the song Tour) shows me you gotta lot of learning to do buddy when it comes to all of this. Whats the technical difference between Dark DnB and Neurofunk? For me Neurofunk is already as dark as DnB gets in mood and intensity. I used them interchangingly.
I think jumpup and foghorn are what really ruined the genre. Any kid can just throw together a soulless generic song and somehow it does numbers. Miss the atmospheric and soulful aspect of stuff from like Goldie, DIllinja, LTJ, Peshay, etc

All 9 "genres" will end up as a featureless noise blob - "tub-thup--tubthup with noisy sfx", regardless of "subgenre". This is actually the main reason why drum and bass died. One of the most unable to develop, unable to comply music subgenres which can become utterly _boring_ even during this 4-minute clip. Tub-thup, tubthup. Tub-thup, tubthup. It is like every rock song wanted to sound _exactly_ like Back in black :)
