- Another Christmas Eve Seafood Favorite! This Baked Halibut with Mushrooms can be made with the whole fish, but the fillets are much more practical. I love it with porcini mushrooms, but assorted mushrooms work beautifully too. Check out the recipe here - lidiasitaly.co...
Easy recipe. I like to watch your videos because you are calm, and you remind me of Europe where i went to college.
Made this for our Christmas Eve dinner……it was the most fantastic fish dish I’ve ever made. I started cooking with your recipes and have come a long way, wonderful, I love cooking. I used haddock because could not get halibut, but it was so delicious. Will try halibut next…….lidia, you are a wonderful teacher, everyone thinks I’m a chef, thank you.
I have put fish, onions and mushrooms on my shopping list. Great way to serve fish! Thank you for sharing.

This recipe looks good-did anyone happen to catch how long the fish cooks in the oven at 375?
There is a link above to the recipe.
@@chrisandersen5635 Thanks! I watch most UA-cam videos on my TV, where I can’t see the show notes. Oh, I happened to notice, the recipe says to preheat the oven to 400, but, I believe, Lidia said to set the oven to 375?
Either would work I think. She did stress the oven should be hot so the fish cooks quickly without drying out. Chef Pépin does that: he say ehh 350-375 ish. As long as it’s in the ballpark. Have fun.

Cook that food Lidia.😊😊😊.
This looks so beautiful! Does anyone reading this have a Lidia B cookbook that they recommend most?
Mastering the Art of Italian Cuisine. It’s an amazingly thorough overview of Italian gastronomy with lovely stories thrown in here and for good measure.
@@chrisandersen5635 thank you!
Lidia what about fennel? Or cream added to the end? Would that work?
I think fennel would be good- I would blanch it first since fennel takes longer than halibut to cook. As far as cream, I think it could be good, but I do not use cream much in my cooking.
How long in the oven Lidia?
Lidia, how long your fish was in the oven?
She just looks like western version of my Grandmother in kitchen🙏🙏
what is a good way to cook cod? could I use cod instead of the halibut
Yes, cod would be very good this way- leave the skin on so the fish does not flake apart!
@@LidiaBastianich thank you it was pretty good.
how long in the oven?
Follow the link above. The full recipe is there in detail.
you've got boiled mushrooms. a big no-no. ALWAYS prepare mushrooms separately in butter, let it evaporate all moisture. then separate
Aren't the "gills" a crucial part of a mushroom's flavour? And what's this trim/clean a mushroom nonsense? She's so good at simple recipes, and so should stick with her guns.
When you have your own cooking show do it your way.
Soooo much oil!!!! Would’ve been better with a lemon caper butter sauce
So when YOU make it on your show do it that way.
Needs garlic
That would over power the delicate flavor of the halibut. That's the star of the dish.
