    I scrolled back to see what videos I have missed to watch while I sew up some more masks. What a great video. This will be added to my list to make. Thanks

    Kenny, I really like this project. You can bet I will have a bunch of those in my shop relatively soon. Another great idea from your shop. Thanks...

      You're very welcome Paul. These are great for light duty clamping. You can always increase the clamping pressure by increasing the rubber bands on the clamp if you need more, but I have found that these work just fine the way that I made them. Thanks for tuning in to the show this week.

    I agree with you Brother. It is so satisfying when you make your own tools that work great . Of Course there are the exceptions . when people ask you who made that and you say me its all worth it lol.

      @@billinfarmington5189 I have seen channels where they post one video every 4 months and have 1.5 million subscribers. These are the channels that pay robot services to sub to their channels to make them more appealing to advertisers. I grow my channel naturally and it is growing slowly, but surely. At least when I see the 32+K subscribers that I have, I know that they are actual people and not some robot subscriptions.

    Kenny, I enjoyed your video and plan to make some of these clamps for my shop. In an effort to simplify this process, I took your instructions and made a SketchUp drawing of the 4" clamp and scaled it up to a 6" clamp. If you would like to share this with your views, I would be glad to send you a pdf formatted that can be printed to scale.

      I would love that Mike. Thank you very much for making the extra effort. I have been sending people the scan of my original shop sketch but I'm sure that yours would be a little more professional. You can email it to the show's address at acutabove_woodworking@hotmail.com

    Hi Kenny, another good one, when will it end lol. I know you had lots of rubber bands leftover from the gun build, take care mate.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings

      I hope it never ends Philip. You have no idea how many rubber bands I have left over. In my house, we refer to rubber bands as "ammunition". LOL. Thanks for tuning in and for the kind words on the show.

    I'm going to show my ignorance: I didn't really know how to use a French curve. But setting up a grid and the masking tape was a "turned on the light bulb" moment. I'm now 100% smarter.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  4 роки тому

      It's just one little trick with French curves to get repeatable results. Glad I could enlighten you on the subject. Thanks for tuning in Dwight. I appreciate it.

    Btw, do you know a device which can measure clamping pressure? (and how much is needed for glueing wood together?)

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  4 роки тому

      You can, if you like, clamp the spring clamp around a digital kitchen scale to measure the pounds of pressure it is putting on your work but in general, you want to put enough pressure to hold the pieces together firmly with just a little bit of squeeze out all around the joint. You don't want too much squeeze out as you don't want to remove all the glue. People tend to apply too much pressure when clamping and most of their glue gets squeezed out from the joint. You only need enough to hold the pieces firmly in place. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

      @@acutabove_woodworkings Thanks for the tip of using a digital kitchen scale for measuring the clamping pressure. (Why didn't I think of that?)
      I have a small one which goes to 3 kg or 7 lbs (I can switch) but I haven't got the faintest idea if that is enough.
      I have all kind of small plastic clamps and some combined plastic/metal ones. But it seems I never have enough of them.

    Where did you find that circle templet?? If you had a CNC machine you could make hundreds of these clamps. hehe.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  4 роки тому +1

      I got my circle template at a local art store but a quick search on amazon shows hundreds to choose from. As for the CNC, of course I could make hundreds of them, but what fun would that be? LOL. Thanks for tuning in Karl. It's appreciated.
