The guy by the tent says to the bison, "yeah, you better keep moving", and then as soon as he says "I think I can take him", the bison turns 90 degrees and starts walking toward him. He's forced to back away, which is why Bob says at the very end "Man!, he owned you". That is why the video has the title it does.
It's his place and he's letting everybody know it. He intentionally stepped on the little girl's bison toy. If you notice, he's aware of all that is going on and all that is being said. Watch what he does. Tatanka, the Native Americans call him, and they revere him quite highly with very good reason. He has very god like qualities.
@Reborn1561 just because a bison is "used" to being around people doesnt mean it wont be aggresive. bison arent live stock, theyre not like cows. they are as wild as any other wild animal, and can be just as unpredictable as a grizzly bear. whether you are a child or an adult, they will not hesitate to charge if they dont like you.
For all the people saying the kids are too close... Where the eff should they be? Pittsburgh?. They're in Yellowstone. In tents. Put them in the tent where they'll be safe? You stay out of it's way and you should be fine. You take some risks when you go to a National park. If you are not willing to take risks, stay home.
Amazing so many people who have never left the city feel qualified to comment on Bob's parenting abilities. It is obvious his kids remained by the car while the bison walked AWAY from his campsite. Driving kids to soccer practice is much more risky than being in a National Park campground where bison are walking around. This is much safer than walking in a parking lot or near any road with your kids, where any of the 100s of driver could lose control of their car, leading to instant death.
Considering all things there should be a pipe corral fence around the campground with a cattle guard or something to keep the bison out of the camp and away from the innocent and naive, which seems to be nearly all of them. Let the grizzlies have a little fun.
I don't know a single person who carries a .50 cal handgun at any time. Usually people would bring a .44 or .45, but that wouldn't be enough to stop a bison anyway.
@bobdykstra You're correct on at least 3 and 6; I'm not quite qualified to speak to the rest. I've been fishing in Yellowstone when a herd of bison surrounded me. If they approach you, you're not too close, but if you approach them, you are.
This video needs to be edited with the Guile soundtrack. The guy is like "I think I can take him.." and M Bison turns around like "What you say". Cue music. :) For people that dont get it UA-cam guile technoviking for a example.
boy insurance peple must get mad when they hear a claim go like this " Yes Im Here Calling to Report A hit on my car?..Yes it was big!, mest up my door and dented my side fenders..Yes it was ..mm no..no..it was a BISON" lol
@Chrisguy42O I second this! That wild animal is unpredictable, and could have shifted on a whim to trash everybody in the vicinity. Utter stupidity! He should have got his family into a vehicle.
I wouldn't feel safe getting much closer than that. At least it wasn't shedding and you also had cars for cover in case it acted up and charged an anyone. Nice camera work.
Yeh that does sound like ray romano. I watched it and thought it sounded like him, but as i came down to post a comment, tons of comments had already agreed with me.
@7h3B4ll00n Teach your kids to respect the wild and there's not much of a problem. I've been camping in bear/wolf/bison country since the age of three without incident. My kids will get that same experience and opportunity. Frankly, I'll take my kids to Yellowstone and trust my chances there more than I'd take them to many urban environments.
I couldn't agree more. I'm completely blown away at some people's complete detachment with wildlife these days. No respect at all. And you know, (God forbid this Bison actually did attack the family) legislation probably would not defend the Bison at all. It's ignorant people like this who destroy the natural world with their stupidity.
Hello Bison Buffalo!!!!! ( clap hands ) I reach out my hands to you. Please come to me so I can tame and pet you! You are sooo cute and sooo sweet! ;))
@Reborn1561 Yeah I agree with you. You just gotta act right, usually. Most of the cases when people get charged by bison was because a tourist made the stupid decision to approach them. People who see these animals on a regular basis know that these beasts dont "hand out" their trust like cows do.
Nothing like letting your kids walk around while an easily anger-able one ton death machine is 15 feet away.
They would probably start crying if anything happens to a child.
And you would what? Laugh?
@@jeffmockus5400 You have completely missed the point that was being made!
The children should be in a safe area-.- parents these days
I agree with you that’s what you call stupid parents
What a majestic creature! He's so curious! Amazed that it just wanders through the camp and doesn't charge anyone.. beautiful!
That's Ray Romano talking
Never play with fate with these critters!!! They are very unpredictable! Stay safe and keep your distance!!
Bison go where they want to go! You’re the one that needs to move🤣🤣🤣

I couldn't have said it better

Good video! There's nothing wimpy about giving a big bison bull some space. That's only smart.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
LOL ... we just listened to two diff overlyexcited scared man laughes hehehehee lov it!
Bison are actually very gentle and quite placid unless something scares or provokes them.
Bison:"You can what?....Yea,that's what I thought human."
A rare sighting of the champ at a campground! Its not everyday you get video of Mike Bison
First thing... get your family in your car. Second thing... STAY in your car!

It only takes one generation to learn how to behave around large wild animals. Teach it to your kids and both you and the animal will be safe.
@MrGillby They differ in size and structure. Bison have heavy fur, Buffalo have lighter fur. They are in different geographical areas as well.
I sometimes wonder " who is the smarter species!"
That's approximately 3,000 high grade hamburgers walking away on hoofs!!!
I love he´s laughter xD
Yeah, parents of the year.
Welcome to Yellowstone where there are Subaru our backs EVRYWHERE
what a beauty
Considering all things there should be a pipe corral fence around the campground with a cattle guard or something to keep the bison out of the camp and away from the innocent and naive, which seems to be nearly all of them. Let the grizzlies have a little fun.
Get in your tent! I’m sure you are safe in there!

I would love to pet one, but I'd probably loose my hand... and my leg... and my internal organs..
Just walk right up to the Bison.
You know sometime I worry where this country is going
I NO LIKE TOTALLY and that's so funny
This should have been titled: "Man, do I OWE all of you for watching this video."
This video needs to be edited with the Guile soundtrack. The guy is like "I think I can take him.." and M Bison turns around like "What you say". Cue music. :)

@Chrisguy42O
I second this! That wild animal is unpredictable, and could have shifted on a whim to trash everybody in the vicinity. Utter stupidity! He should have got his family into a vehicle.
i cant believe how people can camp there :D
I wouldn't feel safe getting much closer than that. At least it wasn't shedding and you also had cars for cover in case it acted up and charged an anyone. Nice camera work.

Q: Where does a 1000+ Lb bison walk. Answer: Anywhere it flipping wants to.
@7h3B4ll00n Teach your kids to respect the wild and there's not much of a problem. I've been camping in bear/wolf/bison country since the age of three without incident.
