A small detail I liked very much: the space between minutes ticks is divided in 6 parts, which match the 21,600 bph frequency of the movement. Usually on watches with similar movements you find marks every 1/5 second, which does not match the effective frequency. Japanese attention to details at its best.
This is my favorite watch in the collection. You are spot on that at first the dial is a bit underwhelming compared to the macro shots you see on UA-cam. As you said though it’s actually a positive. It flys under the radar a bit but once you or someone else sees it you realize how amazing it is. I will disagree that while it has sportier look you can wear it dressed up or with suits. I’ve put it on leather straps and it dresses up remarkably well because of the way it plays with the light and the finishing of the case. Great video and review!
Another great video; the format was helpful to review the watch. I viewed the video twice because I am green with envy and want one. Stay safe, out there on the west coast. 🇨🇦
And can't be hardened in as simple a manner as steel, so either you have expensive age hardened titanium that is also more difficult to machine, or soft titanium with threads that will strip. Hence the pins. On the other hand, specialised hollow steel pins with a shoulder (with a screwdriver slot) one end and a steel screw with a shoulder on the other would also work, it would just be pretty expensive and require two screwdrivers to resize your bracelet.
Another great video brother! When are you going to do a video talking about your nato straps? And also any plans to introduce other style/ material straps?!
Looks fantastic, seriously braw looking watch....I do agree; the value proposition isn't there with its current movement....that said I still wouldn't say no....keep the reviews coming brother....⌚🏴⌚🏴
but you think the explorer at $6k is good value?? This is a titanium watch with finishing on par with Rolex for $1k. I think a decent deal. I went with the SARX035 and found a used one (mint) for $600 from a US seller. They come around that price every so often on Ebay. I wouldn't buy used from a Japanese seller though. Too much risk.
24Hours At A Time just picked up a longines legend diver for the same price (was in the right place at the right time). Most likely continue consolidating and then come back to this piece again. It would be an easier decision if I could see it in person ... but hey, first world problems I guess. Keep up the good work on your content. 👍
Great review. It’s a unique dial and I think it’s worth the money. It’s a great movement. The finishing compared to the Rolex in my view is the same. This makes the Rolex way overpriced.
Great video! Where did you purchase it by the way? I have been debating adding one to the collection but the duties/taxes and brokerage fees for importing one to Canada are giving me second thoughts
Thanks Patrick. I bought mine on eBay but they could also be found on Gnomon Watches. Shipping was free but I did have to pay about $120 in import taxes.
Have the same watch, bought JDM from a dealer I've used for sometime, and had some loyalty money which brought it to like $865 delivered. I agree with you on the price, and no micro adjustments. I was Very lucky that I got a near perfect fit. The hands are fine and yes they should have upgraded the movement. No duty or sales tax charged. Fantastic review. Miss Mr. Bond and I think they money went into the case, finishing, dial and bracelet and not the movement. It's also not Seiko''s worst. But as said before it could have been done better.
Oleg, that is a nice watch the Seiko. Do you know how much they are going for? I am not able to find any. In US dollars. Thanks. I don't think the one in your secret link is the same, it does not have the X in the model number. Does not look as nice either.
Great video. I bought the sarxo33 and still think it is better looking than this one. Presage on the dial spoils it somewhat. Totally agree about the bracelet adjustment and the diameter, spot on 👍
Nice review. It’s a nice watch, really not my thing. I have a Seiko Shogun. Its also Titanium and finished very well. Can’t tell it’s not steel unless you put it next to a steel watch. I have other Titanium watches and they are much darker. I have seen Titanium bracelets with friction pins, Seiko’s pin and collar, single sided screws, and double sided screw pins were you need 2 screwdrivers. I have heard it’s difficult to thread Titanium so the double sided screw pins eliminates threading into the links. I have definitely noticed with Seiko’s hat they can be very accurate when you are wearing it but drift when put down.
I agree with you on all points. I'm still super excited to get one at some point. I think the price point is fine because it's titanium, the dial, and top/bottom ar coated crystal. The 6R or even the 4R movements can be accurate if they are regulated at the factory. I wish that is something Seiko would consider doing on watches in the 4-500+ category.
Awesome watch. Only thing holding me back buying this is the titanium. I just do not know how the titanium will look after a few years. Can you polish scratches out and will the titanium turn grey over years use.
These days you don't find a 6R15 in watches at half the price. In those, you find the 4R35. Any SARBs you find now are just leftovers. The days of the 6R35 in a
If the watch was reduced to 39mm the current hand set would be much better sized to reach the indices & seconds track respectively. I am more interested in the Fuyugeshiki, similar dial that I prefer personally but SS & half the price.
This is a really nice watch but I wouldn't buy this watch myself as I prefer the blue Casio Presage watch. With it being a 41mm watch is one reason I haven't purchased one yet as I agree with you they should be 39mm/40mm which is my own preferable watch size when wearing a watch such as this. A great video though as always.
Agree with you absolutely. I own a limited edition 2020 Alpinist which runs on the 6R 35 and I paid much cheaper than this Baby Seiko. Seiko seems to be increasing their price for most categories of watches these 2 years. It mades the Swiss made watches' prices look so reasonable now. With that kind of price, you could easily buy a Longines on the grey market.
I love mine. It is expensive for a seiko but the quality and the way it wears is better than some of my more expensive watches. The size is perfect for my big wrists, i wouldn't want it any smaller. I have pin and collar on my SARX045 which is steel so I don't know why they are saying it's just because it's titanium.
24Hours At A Time There. Subtle differences with the case design which make it feel different enough from the 055. The finishing is still really good and the tuxedo dial is nicely done. The bracelet design is the same as the 055 so still the lack of micro adjust. The extra weight does make it feel like it wears larger than the 055. I like it but if I could only keep one it would be the 055. The 045 is a lot cheaper though!
I cannot agree more. Pretty nice 👍 watch but overall value for the money is not impressive. Spending such amount of money 💰 for a watch l would rather choose something Swiss made. I think Seiko wants far too much not only for this particular model. In my opinion $200 will be ok for both sides. Honest and professional presentation 👍 you deserve.
Very good review. But the SARX055 is spoiled rotten by the movement. Considered getting one myself. But went directly for a GS GMT. Compared to the quality of a GS the baby will feel significantly inferior. So be prepared to move it on when you decide to buy a GS.
NO TO SNOWFLAKE the dial looks more like ice frozen on a window I dont think snowflake matches it 🙄😒 we should call it the icicle omgggg legit you said in video YESSS XDDDDDD
The thing I can't get over about this watch is that movement. If you're going to have an open back, at least try to put a little gevena striping on it or something so it's nice to look at. Or just put a closed case back on it. Either way.
A small detail I liked very much: the space between minutes ticks is divided in 6 parts, which match the 21,600 bph frequency of the movement. Usually on watches with similar movements you find marks every 1/5 second, which does not match the effective frequency. Japanese attention to details at its best.
That’s a great detail. Thank you for pointing it out:)

00:08 there never was a more perfect pic of a dog! Look how he is smiling!!!
I like it, lovely watch. Agreed a movement upgrade would be nice, but presumably the value lies in the case, bracelet & dial. Cheers 👍🏻
Yeah you’re definitely buying the case, the finishes and the dial with this watch.
Man thats the most shiny titanium I've ever seen! Love the dial too!
very nice review👍😉What do you think about Edox? specifically model Edox north face 1978?
Another great video; the format was helpful to review the watch. I viewed the video twice because I am green with envy and want one. Stay safe, out there on the west coast. 🇨🇦
Thank you Chris! I hope you’re staying safe as well:)
Titanium is notoriously difficult to machine,so i agree with Seiko's decision........................
Mr Bond can always make special guest appearances 🐶
He’s the star lol
„I‘m a positive person... for the most part!“ HAHA that was funny 😂 nice review! Thanks!
😂😂
Well done. Just saw the sje073 in person. Beautiful but having a hard time with the 2200 cost
I totally agree. Especially about the 41mm dial. A white simple dial with no bezel should not be over 39mm in my opinion.
I own three titanium watches, from three different brands, and all of them use the pin and collar system on the bracelet: for what it's worth.
Yeah, I guess it’s a thing. What are your titanium watches?
An Invicta TI-22, a Citizen pro diver, and a Casio Oceanus
I also have 3 titanium watches. I think the Pelagos uses screws. It’s really weird considering most watches are steel.
Wouldn't surprise me. The skill needed to cut screw threads in titanium would be a good flex by Tudor.
I read or heard that Titanium is very difficult to drill for screws in the bracelet - too soft.
I have a Snowflake. Same watch band as your watch, fits me perfectly. No complaints. It’s my best watch and I have a Rolex.
Oleg great review!!
For that price they should at least decorate the movement rotor! Thanks for the review!
Agree! At least make it a bit special!
I like the movement, cheaper to maintain.
Awesome watch! Very good review! Thank you very much, Oleg! 🤝
Thank you!
Another great video brother! When are you going to do a video talking about your nato straps? And also any plans to introduce other style/ material straps?!
Thank you! I should do a video about the NATO straps. Should be adding more colours in the next couple of months.
Great video thanks........ looking to add a seiko to the collection and this is short listed
what is a better switch watch for this price point? I'm sorry, but I really don't think there are any. 1000$ is a tricky price point
Mr Bond looks like he’s legit smiling in the pic! Seems like he’s much happier outdoors.
He loves going on the hikes. His top 3 favourite activities:)
Looks fantastic, seriously braw looking watch....I do agree; the value proposition isn't there with its current movement....that said I still wouldn't say no....keep the reviews coming brother....⌚🏴⌚🏴
Thanks Brian. Seiko needs to include a movement ‘worthy’ of this watch.
but you think the explorer at $6k is good value?? This is a titanium watch with finishing on par with Rolex for $1k. I think a decent deal. Just came across your channel, great one. keeo up the good work
I think this represents amazing value even at full retail! Just wait until Seiko release a new version and double the price 😬!
A future classic. In a few years this watch will be in high demand (if it gets discontinued).
Great review. Always been on the fence for purchasing this watch.
Thanks! It took me so long to make a decision on this one.
24Hours At A Time just picked up a longines legend diver for the same price (was in the right place at the right time). Most likely continue consolidating and then come back to this piece again. Great review Oleg
Thank you!
Great review. It’s a unique dial and I think it’s worth the money. It’s a great movement. The finishing compared to the Rolex in my view is the same. This makes the Rolex way overpriced.
Thank you. It does make Rolex overpriced in comparison lol
This watch is very classy.
That’s a prefect mini review for this watch:)
@@24hourstime 120 is not bad at all considering a watch of that value after converting from USD to CAD

Speedmaster Reduced on bracelet also comes in at 99g.

Hi Scott, the one in a secret link is a different model. I bought mine on eBay for $990 USD. I think you can also find them on Gnomon Watches.
Great video. I bought the sarxo33 and still think it is better looking than this one. Presage on the dial spoils it somewhat. Totally agree about the bracelet adjustment and the diameter, spot on 👍
I agree. I wish it didn’t have Presage on the dial.
Is this watch discontinued ?
yeah i agree this watch should be 39mm

Nice review. I pretty much agree with all of your points, both good and bad.
Looks good but not with a 6R15. A 6R35 maybe. Great review.
Yes at lease 6R35 or their new L caliber movement.
Awesome watch. Only thing holding me back buying this is the titanium. I just do not know how the titanium will look after a few years. Can you polish scratches out and will the titanium turn grey over years use.

This watch is for people who like grand seiko design but also don't want spend more than 30k...that why it becames expensive...
It has 23 Jewels not 24

It is a cheap Snowflake. The case finishing and quality is what you pay, if they upgrade the movement price would go up.
Why not just make it a ladies size watch and go down to 38 mm.
the part i dislike is the 'presage' on the dial.. i dont like the watches which have the X or presage on the dials, it seems weird to me
No hate, but your t-shirts are always too small

it is a nice watch.... love it.... but would not pay $1000 better watches out there for that price cheers
Thanks! I wish it was cheaper!
It is either 30% lighter, or the other one is 40% heavier you math genius

Porque un suizo puede valer 1000 dólares y no se dice nada y un Seiko con la calidad y trayectoria que tiene no👍
Nah this ain’t the baby snowflake. That would be its superior cousin the sje.
NO TO SNOWFLAKE the dial looks more like ice frozen on a window I dont think snowflake matches it 🙄😒 we should call it the icicle
omgggg legit you said in video YESSS XDDDDDD
Its not bad, however the main question is would a Norseman Berzerker wear that watch? Unlikely. Not for you my friend.
Underwhelming is being very polite, I would say its leans towards bland and boring.
The thing I can't get over about this watch is that movement. If you're going to have an open back, at least try to put a little gevena striping on it or something so it's nice to look at. Or just put a closed case back on it. Either way.

Huge. Looks like it’s from target.
Yeah, 39mm would be better.
I don't like the dial on this one. It looks cheap IRL to me.
Lol put it on a nato xD
