I've ordered the Just Black but I like black anyway. I'm moving from a Oneplus 6T which is 2 years old now and causing me a bit of hassle with bugs and slowness. At first, I was disappointed about the downgraded processor but I don't game on my phone so I won't notice any difference. I am looking forward to the much better camera compared to my 6T, 90hz screen and the simple, clean, non-buggy, operating system.
I don't really mind the lower spec Snapdragon. I mean what is the point of the latest chip if you don't have the apps to take full advantage? If it helps to lower the cost, it is good.
Don't you missed the time when every phone is coming out with SD 820 and the Pixel surprised everyone with SD821. I hope there's a Pixel 5+ with SD 865+😊

Absolutely. I've owned every Pixel and the Pixel 3 still remains my favourite, I'm glad they went symmetric this year, and addressed the only two area that really mattered (for me at least), the battery and the ultrawide lens. I'd love to see a return of the ultrawide selfie more than 4k30 at the front personally.

Seeing it in a video, I'm glad I went for sage! It sort of looks like a leather case. You don't buy Pixels for mind blowing paper specs. You buy them for a great software experience and the awesome Pixel camera. Add in the 128gb instead of 64gb, 90hz, reliable fps (masks), almost certainly much better battery life and a £600 price tag with free £220 headphones (in the UK), what's not to like?!
Yeah! Finally a wide angle lens! That's why I had the LG phones for a while. But eventually went to Pixel for the superior quality of the pics. Always missed the ultra wide lens tho.

This is the most beautiful symmetrical display so far (I love those bezels). I changed my mind about the colour, I really DO like the colour but I would love to see orange on them too.
I really love the colour and for me this is the perfect phone, too bad it's not for sale over here so it won't be easy to get one. Great specs and personally for me the right compromises.. i just love it already but I'm still kind of in doubt because the 4a maybe is just enough for my needs and can save me some extra money. 😊
I have the S20 but used the Pixel 4a for a week. First time ever using a Pixel. Absolutely loved the simple experience. It was great coming from Samsung who just tries to cram so much junk into their phones. Trading my S20 for Pixel 5.
@@Lost.n1 no it's not terrible. But it's not what it was advertised as being at all. Camera is nothing special and inferior to the Pixel. The Pixel is just a more simple experience whereas the Samsung's just have so much junk on them anymore. I'd rather just have a more plain Android/Google experience instead of having all of Samsung's stuff pushed over top of Google's. It's just not necessary.
Yeah I have a oneplus7pro. I love the screen size and all but sometimes I think it would be nice to have something a little bit smaller. And I'm really loving the new color options for the pixel.

I'm an android guy and I love it but lets be honest apples phone product line is the most balanced and well thought out. SE for the budget sector, Soon to be mini for small phone, regular iphone for a bit bigger and still good features set then 2 pro phones, one thats super large for the high end fans. Why android manufacturers cant follow a similar product line I have no idea. Especially google, its a disgrace that they dont make a proper iphone pro competitor that can go spec for spec with apple.
I love this colour so much. When everyone is doing black, white, red and navy Google really tried to take a risk and do something different. I think it paid off. This colour is just mesmerising.

The size of the phone is great for me. I used my wife's iphone xr and that's a perfect size. I don't care for big screens anymore. That's what my tablet is for
I think it's very expensive for a budget midranger. Next to the Samsung S20 FE 5g it seems to have things missing, no optical telephoto option only 90 hertz screen, slow charging, no flagship SOC, weak speakers looks like 400 pounds worth to me and it looks awful

Not sure if this is gonna be A hit, especially when S20 FE exists at same price range with a faster SOC and more versatile camera setup and promise of 3 yrs of upgrade. High end pixel sell was abysmal not because they were costly but due to how less they offered at that price, design was 2 years behind than every flagship, battery life was abysmal, storage was just 128gb max...etc. They tried to justify all those mistakes by the good camera they offered which failed.
Suryasis Mandal Pixel 5 will fail the same and not outsell the s20 FE. And the two put together won’t outsell iPhone 11 in the same price and basically the best selling phone in the world for the past year. The iPhone 12 will rule the sakes is my bet once more. Quality and longevity matters the most at the end. But I do agree that in the android world the s20 FE ,and honestly a lot other Chinese trade marks give more than the pixel does. Which is why it doesn’t sell. Especially the higher than a budget versions.

People buy pixel phones for the great camera and software, which you forgot to mention as pros for the pixel. It also has a better size compared to the one plus phones. The base model one plus 8 is 6.55! Not wired people.
If OnePlus released a metallic/plastic phone that was reasonably sized I'd buy it over this, but the camera, size and stock android are more significant to me than SD765 vs 865.

Nice video! Honest question, how many people actually care _that_ much about camera specs?? Don't get me wrong I *love* tech, and love this channel and videos about the latest and greatest phones.... But I don't give two hoots about cameras on smartphones.. I take the odd picture here and there but that's it..I really can't understand all of this dynamic range and depth stuff, one pic looks pretty much like another as far as I'm concerned. Cameras for me are just a tool for snapping documents and a few rubbish holiday pics etc, etc. It's understandable that _reviewers_ like cameras because they have to use them to film their videos, and doing so they become more familiar with the tech.. I'd love it if reviewers gave time stamps so that that who aren't interested in cameras can skip those bits out. Am I alone in this? Maybe I'm just mad?
That's a really fair point. I think it's so hard to differentiate phones these days as they're all really good, that nitpicking camera quality is a good way of telling them apart. Plus a lot of people do want the best camera quality possible

@@nakkadu my 4a gives me 29 hours on average. and sometimes like today, 48 hours.. So this will definitely be great! You just have to give adaptive battery about 2 weeks to settle in..

Its a good phone and all but I would still love a snapdragon 865 version. The phones good but for people who play heavy games on their phone they really dont have an option. My phone has a 855 so I dont want to "downgrade" Maybe they could make a pro model with an 865 for 100 bucks more?
I would nevery pay 100-200 bucks more for a 865 instead of the 765. You could use the money you saved and buy a Nintendo Switch (Lite). Better games, no free-2-play sh*t...
I've ordered the black version. I've decided to move from my one plus 7t with higher specifications because of the software bugs. I've been wanting a smaller and hopefully more reliable experience for a while. I'm done with big phones and want smaller devices. Hopefully it'll arrive soon so I can make the switch and then I'll be able to make calls with my work profile switched on unlike the latest attempt from one plus whom I'd wish released less devices and spent the time making them work correctly. I've been with one plus since the 3 and had all the devices up to the 7t pro and it's disappointed me so much I'm having a change
Why do reviewers only care about bezel size and not symmetry. He did point out that they are smaller but paid no attention to the fact that they are all around symmetric. For me that is much more important than unsymmetric weird looking bezel arrangement

I like unique colors and think although it is odd, I would definitely get the "sage". Additionally, most users have colored cases that don't allow you to see the color anyhow. Thanks for the video!

Size is good, love it, only 2 nagging points for me personally are non-expandable storage (tho they at least give 128GB base storage this time around) and a triplecam setup to be ready for anything :) Prolly gonna upgrade from my p3a :)
Now that updates are ending for my 2XL, maybe the 5 will be my next phone (the camera is what keeps me coming back - far better than the S20 FE or Oneplus)

Yesterday I played with the pixel 5 and the 4a 5g. I think the sage colour doesn’t look great. The back feels weird too, (not convinced about the new material). The phone is speedy though (faster than the 4a). The 4a 5g is bigger so hard choice....
Is there an option to hide the display cutout? I’m pretty sure there isn’t such an option on the Pixel 4a, but to any Pixel 4a users, is there an option within developer options to hide the cutout?
I might definitely buy a pixel next time. With the rumoured 800 "lite" series chips coming next year, I think we can see good performance at a better price.

Pixel 5 5G ticks most boxes for a upper mid-range smartphone.
Definitely sorta sage... After a long time, one pixel device I really can like for the design is the pixel 5 and 4a..
Not sure if this is gonna be A hit, especially when S20 FE exists at same price range with a faster SOC and more versatile camera setup and promise of 3 yrs of upgrade. High end pixel sell was abysmal not because they were costly but due to how less they offered at that price, design was 2 years behind than every flagship, battery life was abysmal, storage was just 128gb max...etc. They tried to justify all those mistakes by the good camera they offered which failed.
Suryasis Mandal Pixel 5 will fail the same and not outsell the s20 FE. And the two put together won’t outsell iPhone 11 in the same price and basically the best selling phone in the world for the past year. The iPhone 12 will rule the sakes is my bet once more.
Quality and longevity matters the most at the end.
But I do agree that in the android world the s20 FE ,and honestly a lot other Chinese trade marks give more than the pixel does. Which is why it doesn’t sell. Especially the higher than a budget versions.

People buy pixel phones for the great camera and software, which you forgot to mention as pros for the pixel. It also has a better size compared to the one plus phones. The base model one plus 8 is 6.55! Not wired people.
If OnePlus released a metallic/plastic phone that was reasonably sized I'd buy it over this, but the camera, size and stock android are more significant to me than SD765 vs 865.

Honest question, how many people actually care _that_ much about camera specs??
Don't get me wrong I *love* tech, and love this channel and videos about the latest and greatest phones.... But I don't give two hoots about cameras on smartphones..
I take the odd picture here and there but that's it..I really can't understand all of this dynamic range and depth stuff, one pic looks pretty much like another as far as I'm concerned. Cameras for me are just a tool for snapping documents and a few rubbish holiday pics etc, etc.
It's understandable that _reviewers_ like cameras because they have to use them to film their videos, and doing so they become more familiar with the tech..
I'd love it if reviewers gave time stamps so that that who aren't interested in cameras can skip those bits out.

That's a really fair point. I think it's so hard to differentiate phones these days as they're all really good, that nitpicking camera quality is a good way of telling them apart. Plus a lot of people do want the best camera quality possible

@@nakkadu my 4a gives me 29 hours on average. and sometimes like today, 48 hours.. So this will definitely be great! You just have to give adaptive battery about 2 weeks to settle in..
@@mackmccord3743 I have the pixel 4 and the battery is terrible even after a few months....I love the phone but I can't put up with the battery, as soon as I see battery tests on the 5 I'll make my decision.
@@nakkadu that is a totally different phone than the 4a. That phone was plagued with bad battery from the beginning. Not the 4a at all. The new and google phones started with the 3a.

I've ordered the black version. I've decided to move from my one plus 7t with higher specifications because of the software bugs. I've been wanting a smaller and hopefully more reliable experience for a while. I'm done with big phones and want smaller devices. Hopefully it'll arrive soon so I can make the switch and then I'll be able to make calls with my work profile switched on unlike the latest attempt from one plus whom I'd wish released less devices and spent the time making them work correctly. I've been with one plus since the 3 and had all the devices up to the 7t pro and it's disappointed me so much I'm having a change
Why do reviewers only care about bezel size and not symmetry. He did point out that they are smaller but paid no attention to the fact that they are all around symmetric. For me that is much more important than unsymmetric weird looking bezel arrangement

I like unique colors and think although it is odd, I would definitely get the "sage". Additionally, most users have colored cases that don't allow you to see the color anyhow.

Jokes aside, I seriously expect this battery to kick ass! roughly 30% increase over previous models which were actually doing quite okay considering their 'tiny' batteries.
Size is good, love it, only 2 nagging points for me personally are non-expandable storage (tho they at least give 128GB base storage this time around) and a triplecam setup to be ready for anything :) Prolly gonna upgrade from my p3a :)
Who said 6 inch is compact. It's the size everyone should be making and having a maximum of 6.3 instead of going for 6.9 inches.

Now that updates are ending for my 2XL, maybe the 5 will be my next phone (the camera is what keeps me coming back - far better than the S20 FE or Oneplus)
I am eagerly waiting for the full review of both the google phones and hope for them to launch at a reasonable price in India. I can't wait to recommend this to family when they ask me which is a good phone. Honestly I just don't want them to buy Chinese brand phones because of their ad filled ui.

Yesterday I played with the pixel 5 and the 4a 5g. I think the sage colour doesn’t look great. The back feels weird too, (not convinced about the new material). The phone is speedy though (faster than the 4a). The 4a 5g is bigger so hard choice....
Is there an option to hide the display cutout? I’m pretty sure there isn’t such an option on the Pixel 4a, but to any Pixel 4a users, is there an option within developer options to hide the cutout?
More color selection would be nice and a bigger version. Also you forgot about the wireless charging capability.
I might definitely buy a pixel next time. With the rumoured 800 "lite" series chips coming next year, I think we can see good performance at a better price.
