Great video. I was inspecial forces and you explained navigation with a compass excellent , thamnks
Another great video ! Thank you
Thank you for the info.
Cool Rodney!
Not sure what I learned mostly about here; map and compass, dressin' or shootin'!!? Just watched a short video on compass with Rodney(?), and this seems like a cool, down to Earth channel. Simple and practical. Makes sense to me! The more awesome channels/information the better,.
Button boots are the best for traction for sure. I'm not as good of hunter like you but at least I won't slip often..lol
Because of the coming micronova, declination is moving much farther, and much faster and so declination information is likely incorrect but there is still a way to recalibrate magnetic declination using the shadow of sticks recording the path of the sun---rotation of the earth has not yet changed. First stick will show East. Mark it with a sharp stick pushed in. After a few minutes you can mark sun shadow travel where the shadow has moved - Push another stick in to mark West. Lay a straight stick from the E mark to the W mark. Geographic north or True North is 90 degrees from the E-W line. With your compass pointing toward True North, note how far off your compass is now. That is your true up-to-date declination. My up-to-date declination is 30 degrees, 15 degrees off from the official declination for my area. More on micronova in my 2nd book, Surviving the Micronova: This Train Is on the Tracks
Johnson wool next best thing and predator coats
Hi guys. The vids are very helpful. I googled beagle wear and found that the company is out of business ! Is this true? Thanks for sharing all your great information!!!
Did you do a GPS video and what one you use?
Hey guys. I was wondering what radios you guys recommend?
Where do you get a belt like that. You guys are awesome! Keep up the good work boys!!
Taylor's belt from moose leather was made by his girlfriend sam. i bought mine when i was a teenager Rion and Casey's were modified pistol belts.
Are the boots you are wearing, are they the classic grange non insulated boots, or are they the burly boos that have a small amount of insulation.
Also I used to wear a boot insert like you guys but hiking on a steep hill it used to slide around and make it uncomfortable to walk. Is there anyway you guys attach the insert to your boots or just put them in?
yep uninsulated with a snug fit trim a larger pad to fit perfect if you have to, you know footware its different for everybody!
Hey your video (it’s what we do) what’s the music and good video I am close to Pittsburgh I am in somerset PA
We get most of our music from GoPro.com they have a free music section on their website. Check it out hope it helps.
Rodney Elmer & Mountain Deer Taxidermy thanks man keep up the awesome work
At this point I think I should own stock in Johnson wool lol... being fellow Vermonters you guys use darn tough socks? If not you should look into it I love mine practically all I wear
you bet their great too!
It’s called intersection and resection by the way!
they dont sell beagle outdoor wear anymore??
Nope I’m bummed to!
@@mtndeer what would you recommend for a jacket now?
ok u hit the road which way to your truck?
Use the aiming off method. If you know about where you parked on the map, aim just a bit to either left or right. For example, if i aim just a bit to the right, when i hit the road, i'll know to turn left. Or vice versa.
@@dalbyonemanband yoh bro cant figure that one out I just dont want to walk on the road for a mile im the wrong way.. Thinking strongly of purchasing a GPS
@@frederickbierweiler8020 dave canterbury has a video on the aiming off. Gps's can fail. Great to have a compass for backup.
Pittsburg NH not PA
Holding the azimuth ring and turning the baseplate is just stupid.
