Its funny how those words of sidious were all manipulation to give vader hopes. Palpatine was never gonna let vader take hes throne, he was too powerfull and egoistical to let go of hes own power. Also another reason why he kept coming back.

Well in canon Vader would destroy Sidious in his rage. Even if Sidious would throw force lightning at him, Vader would tank it like in ROTJ and then the dark side would keep Vader alive. But in Legends Vader stands no chance against Sidious. In conclusion: Canon Suited Vader > Canon Sidious. Legends Sidious > Legends Vader.
