As someone who didn't grow up with the Sonic games, "Sonic the Hedgehog Workout Playlist" slaps way harder than I ever would've expected it to.

Little V is proof that as we get older, our appreciation of games can grow as long as we let ir grow.
Age doesn't have much to do with it, in fact if you've been around since the infancy of video games you'd be more inclined to be impressed with modern video games than if you were born in say the 2000's. Going from those plain black screens with a few flickering sprites to fully rendered 3D is pretty mind blowing.

What I find so funny about this one is that V's covers always sound heavier than the original, whereas here the original is already so heavy that I would even go so far as to say that his cover sounds softer

Almost Dead by Powerman 5000 (Shadow the Hedgehog)
I Am...All of Me by Crush 40 (Shadow the Hedgehog)
This Machine by Julien-K (Sonic Heroes)
Open Your Heart by Crush 40 (Sonic Adventure)
Fight the Knight by Crush 40 (Sonic and the Black Knight)
With Me feat. Emma and Tinna from ALL ENDS (Sonic and the Black Knight)
Infinite feat Tyler Smyth and Andy Bane from Dangerkids (Sonic Forces)
The ones I have listed took inspiration from different eras and genre's of metal like Nu Metal, Industrial Metal, 80s Heavy Metal, Alternative Metal, and Metalcore. Frontiers is the first game that fully embraced the metal world taking inspiration from Djent and Modern Metalcore and not just dabbling in the metal world like previous games. It's a big W for the metal community.
Are those heavy metal or heavy rock? I always thought there was a difference.
@@lugia525 Well heavy rock sort of teeters on the edge of metal so it's hard to say for sure. If we're talking about classic heavy or hard rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, then yes there was a difference, but somewhere in the mid to late 80s that line started to blur a little bit as heavy rock bands would cross over into metal and vice versa. It became even more like that during the 90s and early 2000s. So you could count some of the ones I listed as Heavy Rock or count them as Metal. It's sorta up to interpretation at that point. Although both This Machine and Infinite are straight up metal. This Machine taking inspiration from Industrial Metal (as both Amir Derkah and Ryan Shuck of Julien-K came from the Industrial Metal band Orgy) and Infinite taking inspiration from Metalcore (Dangerkids is a metalcore band so it makes sense).
Shame on the Game Awards for not nominating this for best soundtrack!
Haven’t played Sonic in while then I hear this and the ost for this new game and am eagerly waiting for it to show up for Christmas so I can play it and hear the original ost this is very incredible love the gameplay in the back and the beat of the song, Incredible cover V of Undefeatable have a great day
