Learning my personality type has actually improved my overall growth.

Yes! I’m having a hard time explaining to people how frickin transformative knowing your personality type is.

It’s nice knowing that being a quiet, deep thinking, loner is not a flaw, but just who I am. I like being alone a lot, but I’m not lonely. I have my few people I keep close, but don’t feel the need to be a socially active person or a social climber. I’ve found a fulfilling purpose in parenting and fostering. I have been examining the mbti categories and it helps to understand the child in tandem with learning about the struggles they endured with their birth family.

Word. That's a gem. To succinctly put as: Learn how to people. I'm putting that on a post-it and sticking it to the wall.

Our biggest problem is our social skills. It's what keeps hurting our feelings and has us avoiding people.
We have a different thinking style. In a conversation, we are seen as rude for changing a topic, but see it connected and still on topic.
We are rude for not seeing social cues. We see them as opinions or differences to the topic so will stay on the topic. We don't see the sign that said they wanted to stop. We want all the information about something.
We are rude for not using the Feynman Technique when talking to others as we can leave our listeners overwhelmed and stressed out with an information overload.
We do need active listening and asking better questions as you mentioned.
We can be our own worst enemy and can't expect others to be like us. We need to learn how to improve ourselves.

I'm an infp mom with an intp daughter. My daughter really wants to go to places, yes Japan too, I take her to zoo's and musea and such, things she likes. She dropped out of school age 7, gifted and not understood, so it is extra challenging, the social part. As an infp I can relate to intp but she is so more me, so more logical and learning into own fields of interest, learning the world, analyzing. Intp is a precious profile, but its hard to see so misunderstood and a lot of people don't see the good stuff, silly stuff, loyal and sweet things of intp, and how smart and fun they can be.

I have started to understand that my dream is about the true unification of people without unification of thought.
It must be possible to love and laugh without thinking the same way about the world.

Well free and open exchange of ideas and worldviews without insecurities around being right, identity and so on wrapped in love and care would probably help us avoid a lot of problems and nonsense. We might even avoid problems before they blow up in our faces.

He translates patent documents to and from English and Japanese. He created a program to do it for him now, so I don’t know what he actually does LOL.
I know that he enjoyed cruising around the Bahamas couple years ago and working remotely because of what the program he made allowed him to do.
He still lives here in Tokyo tho.

      Oh wow..
I'm not a translator but my last job was as an English trainer/tutor for Japanese professionals. However, I'm a Computer Science grad who never really pursued a career in this field. But for some reason, I recently got interested in learning to code again..& I'm thinking of developing an app someday.
Is this an INTP stereotype hahah?? Why are we kinda the same..

@@user-cj6jd3xx9l i got a bachelor's degree in accounting, worked about a year and struggled to entertain my mind. I would then try to at least ease the thoughts by coding whenever im free. I couldnt hold the impact it had on my mental health. My hairs were falling out.. i finally decided that i need to seriously pursue these careers in tech and decided to resign. Now as a software engineer, i seriously love my job. I also made a couple of small businesses in the field of tech. I guess the reason why coding is such a remedy for me is because as an INTP, our minds are highly active. We seek to break things apart, understand how they work, and then see other possibilities of the subject, (ps. If you try to apply these methods and be creative in accounting, thats called fraud. XD)
I remembered days when my brain wasnt allowed to be creative, i would struggle so much, and would push myself to at least pour the thoughts out by learning to code till 3 am in the morning even if work was 9 am the next day. It could suck if you have no platforms to bounce those thoughts to. So please, do find things that could help you ease that active mind. Plunge to fields that could help you be creative, analytical, and exploring.
      Take care bruh.

@@GeekPsychology I would watch if you would get in depth of how to master and maximize over my introverted thinking function.
In particular one issue that I have is the one of constant over thinking which I tried so much to deal with. If I could turn this mind wandering into something more productive and stop being a victim of my function I would be beyond grateful if you'd explain how to resolve this cycle of overthinking.
(By the way, love the fact you came to respond).
