How on EARTH can you still sound THIS good after SO many years?
They take care of them selves, talent and use technology to their advantage. Like using effects and there live mixing is so good
Vocal exercises.
Practice, teamwork, good tech's & being guys not a bunch of egotistical maniacs.
well............................IT'S DEF LEPPARD
what can i tell ya \m/ \m/
i still take 2 lumps of sugar in my coffee to this day
@@Me37368 I’m pretty sure Joe had a surgery on his vocal cords at one point but idk, I’m just happy he still sounds great, saw them in 2018 and it was the best I’ve ever seen of them
They are f'ing PROFESSIONALS! Sounds amazing.
After the car crash took his arm, Rick Allen came back to the studio where the band had been recording. Nobody ever talked about replacing him or what they were going to do. They were just happy he was back and he'd just go into a room by himself....and spent his days figuring out how he could drum with one arm - setting up to drum with his feet, and practicing day after day. The band admits now, they were just happy he was doing something, but in the back of their minds of course he could never do what he once did. One day he called them into the room and proceeded to play one of their hits in their entirety on his new setup using his feet. By the end all of them were in tears.
One of my ex firefighter colleagues in Sheffield was a massive Def Leppard fan, he was in charge of the first fire appliance on scene at Ricks accident. He was almost in tears when they cut him out of the wreckage but elated that he mastered the art of one arm drumming.
Great, now I’m crying on a bus on a Wednesday morning. I’ve been catching up with these guys over the past few days and am amazed at how good they still sound. This story makes me love them even more.
That’s the reason they are the all time best- the fact that they didn’t give up on him, they just adapted and made it work- even better than before to be honest.
@@saragrant9749 Great comment and excellent point🙌
True friendship
Rick allen is 57 years old with one arm and still he is killing it.What's your excuse?
I'm paraplegic.
I'm not Rick Allen
I suck at drums even with two arms.
Swamped watching def Leppard concerts on UA-cam
@@pattywatty5266 if he wants to impress me, he needs to do two pushups.
The fact that they still sound this good after so many years is genuinely extremely impressive. As close to the records as it gets. Just like AC/DC.
Agree they should tour together!!
Phil admits that they tuned a full step down so they could still sing their songs.
Absolutely agree Collixion ! Saw them in 1987 in London on their Animal Tour, I was blown away at how much they sounded like the CD I had !! Infact, better ! Love AC/DC too, have a butchers at the Live At River Plate concert in 2009, the audience in Argentina are just incredible too ! Cheers, rock on !
Better IMO Phil is the power source for this band and his tone and playing are better than ever
They did Def Leppard were the support act too AC/DC saw them twice together
This group even at this age would beat 90% of current rock bands
What current rock bands?
is there some?(sorry forgot that bit)
Correct

These guys still rock. Listening to def leppard now is just like listening to them in the 80s. Living time capsules.
Especially Phil Collen; I swear the dude hasn't visibly aged since 1998.
@@ianrarity3783 During quarantine if you saw some of his videos he was making, he grew a beard and it was gray but that’s the only thing that makes him like old, the second he shaved it he looked like he got a lot younger

The drummer blows my mind? How??! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥
That is a story worthy of hearing.
Loads of documentaries all of them excellent
Rick Allen: "It's just a flesh wound."
Feet and back track.
An absolute iron clad determination not to let his friends down, and talent. So much talent.
He has a special set. Foot replace arm🙂 he still awesum. I seen them in Vancouver Bc
If the 80s had Internet, This song would have broke the internet
All of them are 60 plus and they use no autotune with still sounding good, legendary virtuosos.
And no back tracking
What metal uses auto tune though, to be fair?
@@JoeyLevenson false metal
@@JoeyLevenson this isn't metal... It's just Rock ballad
All of them besides Rick Allen. He’s only 57
Edit: I guess Viv is only 58 also
Their drummer is huge inspiration.
England really has created some of the best Rock bands in the World in the top 10 :D ;)
So many, that Def Leppard would not even even warrant an honorable mention
Cried straight watching the accident scene
Look at the Rick Allen...he is a cure for depression and anxiety
HELL YEAH! Motivation at its best!
That was so true
The best old rocker band to date.
Joe Elliot sounds great at his age. Not just talking the lyrics because he can't hit the notes anymore. He's really singing them and on key.
I got to see Def Leppard in augest 26 2018 in Columbus Ohio where the football stadium 🏟.
Is at the Def Leppard concert was awesome 😎 but it was very loud and some people screaming during the Def Leppard concert
Rock on 🤘 to one of my favorite band on earth 🌎 dude
The Def leppard rock band in the world in the 1980 and 2020 too
Take notes Motley Crue this is how it's done!!!
The drummer has one arm O.o damn, so much respect for him, the rest of the band is awesome aswell
Accident took his one arm.
Even though, he really didn't let it get him down. He really came into his own after the accident. He just said, "find me a way to keep jamming."
Great to see Monty Don still rocking.
Y does any1 have to get old. These yummies..yyyy
FREAKIN SONG ROCKS!!!!!
Rock n roll forever
They still sound pretty damn good but what's truly amazing is how the hot chicks in the audience don't appear to have aged a day since the 80s! ;-)
Saw them on the Hysteria tour two nights in Portland Oregon 1987. Def Leppard is the real deal.
This was an absolute drop-dead, stone cold demi-god performance! These guys still rock as though it was 1988! So thankful I grew up during this era. Thank you Def Leppard for shining so bright for so long!
I wanted to make a comment to this effect. Your words nailed it! 🤘
I’m 50 now and I still remember hanging out with my friends listening to Def Leppard driving down the street and that’s all that mattered back then
My first time was on this one...😇
One regret in life is never seeing these guys live. But, they’re still touring so maybe I’ll still get my chance.
I love how Phil Collen is over 60 and jacked.
I was just thinking that I wished I looked as good without my shirt at 17 as he does now, sadly everyone told me now and then to put my damn shirt back on.
@@5yearsout in the end, they don't care. Do what you want bro
@@rowanshreds I get that, but I don't like to see folks throwing up on my behalf.
This is the one song that I think has inspired most of Steel Panther's output.
Rick allen is such a brilliant drummer
Humans are old, but songs are not old
These guys got no business being this good after this long.
Business got no good being this long after these guys
theyre to legendary to stop rocking theyll rock forever even after theyre gone! even if its through my sound system
Я был на их концерте, они приезжали к нам в санкт Петербург. Великие, и не бросили друга в беде.
Phil is 62 years. You can't be 62 and have that body!
thats illegal
It's called TRT
he may have a body but the voice is crapping out....
It's easy with bags of money, a personal trainer and 10 hours a day to do nothing but play guitar and work out.
@@rockdinosaur666 It's very doable. But doesn't make it any easier.
I miss the energy they had in this song.
I know that they are 60+
Honestly Rick Allen plays the drums better with one hand than most two handed drummers, extraordinary.
Love you, Joe Elliott, you and I are in the same octave in karaoke around Southern California!
omg do you hear that????? REAL MUSIC!!!
Awesome, honorable and Legendary Musicians! Please King Charles II, Knight these noblemen!
What a classic
I just want to say. After a rock and roll life style for 45 years. VIV looks fregin amazing.
They sound great but where is the power of that kick drum you here in the live version from 1988!?
Sound Engineer master clase...Awesome
Джо поёт прекрасно! А Фил имеет такое тело, которому позавидуют молодые! Молодцы ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Vivian is honestly one of the most underrated guitarists in history. The dude is truly something special.
And he knows how to sing.
@@JB-lp9xr And yet not many from the modern era even know his name. Sad.

def has a time machine
Good to see Vivian Campbell. The albums he did with Dio, were some of the best rock guitar ever.
Same with Whitesnake before he joined Def Leppard
That guy's really proud of his muscles
he didn't have them back when they were popular
@@captainsensible6939
Still had a 4 pack though
🤣
As he should be
I agree, Kostis.. As he should be.
Amazzzzing❤
I'm glad to see Phil is using his old guitar with a pointed headstock.
Man they sound so good still. Ricks timing is unmatched
Bad ass Old GEZZERS
They're all still so good looking. Especially Savage.
The guitar player that wears no shirt still looks sooo hot!
素晴らしい👍

I love rock and roll 🤘😜🤘
Phil: Pour Some oil on me....
I mean Sugar, sorry.
lol
Saw them in denmark warm up for Bon jovi, and Def Leppard stole the fucking show, they should have been the main name
I saw these guys in concert during the Hysteria tour. One of the best concerts I've ever seen! As a fellow old fogie, I truly appreciate how well they just keep rocking!
Real music stands the test of time. How many bands of today will be doing their thing 40 years from now, much less this good?
I will. Also the current pop music is trash. I will bring rock back. Plus Def Leppard are the best.
My band is called Kryophoenix. I am 15. We haven't released anything yet but give a few years and we will. Already got a bunch of riffs and solos. So yeah hope you enjoy us in the future.
@@ryancampbell5246 how’s the band doing?
FUUUUUKKK.. They still ROCK!
Still rock? Are you serious? Def Leppard haven't rocked since High and Dry.
@@daiichi2223 wdym, they’ve had plenty of hard songs since. Even on their 2015 album they had some harder stuff
I love the way Vivian Campbell plays...

Dr.Phil must be praying 🙏 to himself here to god. Everyone needs a little prayer here in there everyday lives!
Pretty buff there😎😎😎😎
They need to perform in the next Super Bowl...they actually still sound good
Please come back to tour Mr Leopard
Yeah, I am going to their concert on June 30, 2022, in Nashville. I wish Motley Crue could still sing this good. 😂
After Al these years they still got it
Niezniszczalni rocka!
Favorite 80's band EVER. 80's teen and I've only gotten to see them once in 2018 at 49 years old. Felt 16 again! Took my 16 year old daughter and it was an amazing experience to share. They're so good because they work at it. They play the songs people love them best for at concerts even if they've sung it a million times for tens of millions of faces and are probably sick of it. They appreciate their audience and it shows!
That guitar sound is ..GIGANTIC ❤
Classic Rock so good
Somebody please convince me they are really playing live this good.
They are definitely playing live no backing track aswell
If you need convincing listen to the Hysteria album.
It's different but not by much, vocals drop an octave but that's it. In 40 years you can allow a little tweak, other than that, they're just awesome
Fantastic Band, every time I see Vivian Campbell I think of John Paul Jones .
Savage is the most beautiful man on earth..I love him.
Damn, still the best
Def Leppard forever ❤️

That was awesome!
I saw them at Cheltenham Town Hall around 1979. I didn't have a clue about them, and nor did I know how they would take off. I love that guitar sound from Phil Collen. EDIT: I checked, and it was February 1980

Sure would LOVE to go to one of their concerts. Plus, I have ALOT of respect for this band for the way they don't hold losing an arm against the drummer.
why in gods name would they hold that against him? It wasn't his fault....
U still got it.
Wow very nice show first time I've ever seen you play you're cool Grant Israel
RIP Steve Clark!

What a beast
Phil is so underated as a guitarist... simply incredible.
I really hope there is no Taped vocals playing
Even more underrated as a striper!
These are the kind of guys that became famous when it actually took talent to become famous, no auto tune nothing, just there own selves. Flawless.
While they were one of the most talented groups back then, they were actually one of the more studio/FX driven bands. Especially when Mutt was helping them with this song. I saw them last night, they go heavy on the effects. But, that doesn’t mean there isn’t talent underneath it. Just means it’s enhancing the good already there. They’re awesome!
the fact that they still sound the same after 40 years is just amazing and i would deff pay to see the one and only def leopard
Love Def Leppard.....New Years Eve 2020, who is listening to bring in 2021?????
