I see you try but i see no example of code that would do exactly what is asked. You think this stuff is easy for a regular person but actually burning a sd card is a project for a regular person, see response in this thread as a example.
@@BasicITStuff I got it ,it tool the code
That bigger screen u have, is that a blackberry playbook? Random question i know but was wondering if i could connect it to that to use as a screen lol no use for it otherwise haha
I don't have blackberry products, can you be more specific?
Does the screen support touch with your fingers, or only with the stylus? I'm interested in using this screen to run Crankshaft in my car for navigation and the likes,so I won't be able to really use it with a stylus.
It works,.but it's pressure sensitive so it won't be like your phone screen.
I mean, it could work, but only if you want a display as big as ur sunglass holder in the car.
Ok
I did exactly as n the video but when booting up the raspi 4 with the lcd screen installed it stays white an no green light on I took the lcd screen off an my tv tells me resolution not supported change the resolution of the external device model not supported HDMI an no green light still the green light comes on first few seconds then goes away so I tried the 2nd micro hdmi slot an it booted but stopped at boot screen it says
[14.773717] end kernel panic not syncing not working init found try passing init= option to kernel .see Linux documentation/admin/guide/init.rst for guidance .]
Maybe download a new raspberry pi os img and start from the top. First try with a hdmi screen/tv and move on from there
@@BasicITStuff I think the issue is the lcd screeen which may have done soemthing to my previous pi 3 b+ I just purchased the 4 An was setting up the lcd like explained so I reinstalled Arma 64 took off the lcd An boom it worked so I’m thinkn it’s the lcd has to be because I followed exactly how u did .might need to get a new 1 for the 4 hoping I’ll be able to also revive the 3 b+ that one has me ina loop which I can’t find any other options for red light no boot tried rebooting noobs (installing) I’ve tried raspberry 32 full version desktop nothing works idk what else it could be
Broken micro SD cards, broken power source, broken screen, broken cable. And last but not least, broken pi 3?
@@BasicITStuff well I broke the micro as after a frustration match with the pi lol but I tried 3 diff sd cards same issue power cord is showing correct voltage but I noticed when I removed the lcd screen there was burnt purple marks on the aux connection maybe I fried it by accident ? Bad sd reader ? J checked the gpu pins it’s showing same voltage im starting to think the pi is done the screen may have a issue to do with it shame was hoping to get it to work again but just out of ideas
What exact model raspberry pi and what exact make and model phone charger are you using?
Does it work with Recalbox?
Think so
Will this work if I have windows 10 os on the pi?
I am unsure, Windows 10 has no config.txt?
not compatible with windows 10 but i do believe u can install a driver on the sd card to run the lcd and the pi as a portable standalone
Awesome i have the same case just different brand 3,5" screen with fan attachment but do you know if its possible to have both the lcd screen and hdmi working ? Cuz i can switch between hdmi and lcd but i cant get them to work together and have both screens on do you know maby thankss
Great vid btw 👍
Maybe switch sd card per configuration?
Did you get this config working I want to do the same and have all the hardware, when I install the drivers it locks up and won't boot up further. Still doing some research as well..
Try to get the img from the screen manufacturer. That works for me and just boots like you would expect
Is there a link for the drivers for somone using kali?
There is a kali img including the drivers on the site
@@BasicITStuff I tried that but then it crashed the pie and said out of bounds. I had to re image to fix it. Are there any other ways?
Could I use this screen with something like volumio?
I would think so. Are you building something similar?
@@BasicITStuff I own a restaurant and rather than spend $500 on a device that plays music to the speakers I already have.I figured I would just have a pi run volumio with a spotify account, but some of my waitresses wanted to change the playlist. So I thought rather than teach everyone how to access the pi though their phone browser I would just add a touch screen. The current problem i'm facing now is that when I hook up a monitor on the pi the only thing running is volumio and I can't access the website. What do I do?
You will need to Google a bit but there is an option in the web interface to show the web interface on the screen of the pi. Very cool
Basic IT Stuff okay I got it working. I had to pull up the terminal on the pi and manually type in all the commands so now it works fine. Thanks a lot for the help
That's so cool, have been wondering if that would work but it is if I understand correctly. Touch works? You see volumio on the screen in the correct resolution?
but how you can put fan?
Good question. I don't have a clue, you can get power from the 5v pins on the raspberry pi, but getting air is would need some creative thinking
@@BasicITStuff yeah I know it would be quite easy to connect to other pins, but I only see it plugged on the first two pins in other tutorials, also I think I would have to make it spin at the right moment, which I think is what you meant
Good video content By the way!
Thanks 👍
Basic IT Stuff you’re welcome
Can we do it with rasberry pi zero?
This is only for 4 . You can if it accepts the pins or the older model hdmi
yes, you would need a pi zero with gpio and the drivers
yes, you would need a pi zero with gpio and the drivers :)
How do you reverse the process
There is a graphics problem with mine. Every time I press chromium, the web browser, or the start menu, it actually doesn’t show. It only shows an empty transparent screen every single time. I don’t know what to do
Maybe check the raspberry pi forum?
can this display be connected to the gopro?
Gpio or GoPro?
@@BasicITStuff diy for Gopro hero 5 action camera. have you ever tried to connect? do you think it can be connected or not
If you get the raspberry pi and the screen and you connect the GoPro to the raspberry pi, that should work I guess? But why?
@@BasicITStuff ok thanks bro. because I was blogging using gopro 5. gopro 5 doesn't have a front screen. actually the gopro 9 is equipped with a front screen. but the price is still very expensive for me.
You could also use your phone, a tv, a tablet, a computer screen, a laptop, probably anything with a screen and an OS?
what is the black rubber for?

Disconnect?
@@BasicITStuff Excuse me. my English is bad. I want to know how to turn off the screen. leave without power. or something to only come back when setting the LCD35-show again.
Power is over gpio so you have 2 choices, remove the screen, turn off the raspberry pi
How can i rotate the display 180 degrees?
Config.txt and in raspberry pi os there is menu somewhere. What os are you using?
@@BasicITStuff Raspbian
That should work
I did everything as per the instructions but it's still showing the white screen pls help

using the same setup, and all it does is lock my desktop screen at SSH.service, display on the Pi goes dark, it looks like it locks up, but i can still ssh into it.... what the heck am i doing wrong?
Are you using the img from the company that makes the screen?
@@BasicITStuff yes, the only thing not supplied was the Pi. I have used 3 dif SD cards, tried it with and without the Screen attached, as soon as i load the drivers it does this. Are you using the 32bit or 64bit os?
@dirtyd1398 32bit. Not sure I understand, you are not using a pi? Then what are you using?

Standard raspberry pi OS img and the steps for the drivers
Ive tried this method so many times now with no success. My display documentation says to use goodtft and mhs35 but reboots to white screen. If I use the image with the driver built in it works on first boot then goes back to white screen on next boot.
Defective product? Do you update the new install? Do you leave the HDMI plugged in?
Basic IT Stuff I used headless mode via ssh, then once raspbian was installed (not connected to internet direct ethernet from laptop to pi) the screen was working I run apt update/upgrade then the pie still works via vnc but the screen goes white.
Basic IT Stuff I figured out that you cant update the pi to the new kernel version but how am i supposed to upgrade my apps and such to the current version without updating the kernel?
Driver issue I guess, I install a new clean img of raspberry pi OS, then the steps from the showlcd site
Basic IT Stuff finally got it working afraid to even update now lol.
How do you install RetroPie?
