  • Heartbreaking footage of an older gentleman struggling to make a delivery captured the hearts of a community in Utah. When Jennifer Weiss saw the video of DoorDash delivery person Larry Robely having trouble with each step, she felt compelled to find him. Larry, who is a 63-year-old veteran and recently suffered a stroke, had to relearn to walk and took the job in order to pay for a repair his roof needed. Jennifer organized a community drive to raise money for Larry. #InsideEdition

Nobody says america has problems but have you tried living in a 3rd world country? Even though the budget adequately funds the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) programs, Trump’s destructive cuts to other crucial programs - such as Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) - hurt the millions of veterans who rely on them to access health care and achieve economic security. Despite Trump’s promise to put veterans first, the budget reduces support for veterans most in need and puts greater pressure on VA programs.

      But I get your point. And you have to accept that some older people choose to live in retirement homes. My mom offered to take my grandmother in and she said no. No one kicked her into any senior home. She chose to maintain as much independence as she could.

    • @reinventedmama
      @reinventedmama 3 роки тому +2

      @Ali Possani There is but in home assistance is typically not 24/7. Elderly people can be abused at home (even by family) and in facilities. Understand that level of care makes a difference in how well an elderly family member can be adequately and appropriately cared for at home. In some cases they require more care and it's not safe. There's also the physical, emotional, and financial toll of being a caregiver at home. I've been there. It's incredibly stressful and exhausting. As much as I would love my mom to be at home with me, it wasn't the best option for her because of the risk to her health. Many senior facilities provide great care and social activities. It's not always bad and they're not always abused.

    Every kid should be taught from a young age to always RESPECT & HELP your veteran's. Because they have HELPED all of us for fighting for our FREEDOM. Now more than ever they need it as the same nation is starting to turn their backs on them. Thank You to ALL THE VETERN'S OUT THIER!

    I'm glad he's getting some funds in. It hurt me to see his fragile body walking up those steps😥

    I love how she said he's got enough to fix his roof and retire. Watching that breaks my heart too and may God place helpers in our lives when we need them IJN

    I love how even though he’s struggling, he still gently placed the items down. See some delivery drivers in their prime tossing packages.
