You make good points on the 2 versions. Myself I’m more happy with my v1 setup other than the rear driveshaft issue. Plus I run only one 6s pack so not worried about loosing a lipo tray to fit my tp 4070cm. I’d rather deal with the driveshaft issue over tiny lipos. Arrma’s day late dollar short on the v2 limitless not mention the cost is higher now....like you said we’ve already solved those issues and bought our upgrades already.
I cant wait to see Early get after both with calipers and an inquisitive eye and show what is really going on. Thanks for all your efforts and charity to the community!
You bring up a lot of interesting points about the V2. We will see once people get their hands on the V2. You always do well describing when wrenching on your RCs. 💥💯💯💯
I might jump on the V3 limitless when they finally get it together enough to stretch the chassis plate out just enough to not compromise and just squeeze everything tight together.
Earl thanks for the good advice and insight. Anyone who purchase the V2 Limitless will have to make some modifications to battery tray and maybe swap out the spool with a center diff
I guess I don't have huge packs too worry about it. I have standard 3s and 4s packs and end up sliding the adjustment to get closer to the battery anyway? It's definitely something to pay attention to. You definitely raised a good point that I'll be looking at if I do decide to get one. Still have room to improve my v1 potential as is.
Earl! What’s up with you? Perfect pass is kind of a launch control!!! If it’s set up right, you can full pull the trigger and the pp module is accelerating your car to top speed- it’s definitely not a gyro!! You should check the instruction manual for installing that thing On the V2 limitless I really like the clear body! Everything else has to be proven-
I thought the perfect pass went on the esc not the servo, it is not a gyro, it helps so you don't pull the trigger to hard. I like the width on the rear of the v2 plus the clear body, the rest is all after market parts.
I'm with you on that battery why put a bigger motor in there if you don't have the power to make it go even tho we all know some smaller battery are more Powerful then the bigger ones ill keep my V-1 and upgrade every piece that I can hopefully the new Motor mount fits and the V-1
I don't think that ARRMA shrank the battery trays; rather they just moved them reward on the chassis. The V2 has a wider rear width, so wheel clearance isn't an issue with the rearward mounted battery trays. Of course I'm only speculating. Your assumption can be correct.
The v1 battery tray is at the edge of the chassis only way to keep it would be a longer chassis but I’m sure they would have said 16/17% longer to promote it 🤔
I just bought an Arrma keratin 6s v5 and from what I've seen from all the videos it has at least one guaranteed rolling up date and maybe two more my Copperhead tires are vented not the rim the vents on the back of the body look like they're slightly wider and only four and the exb plate in the front of the truck is now a black plate with a 4 mm hole and no indication that it's an exb part that I can see on top of the plate and this is my first crating so I do not know if there's anything else on it that has changed
Both you and exo,are talking about voltage drop and hitting low voltage cut off on let say a 5000mah compared to a larger 8,000mah. I myself am just leaning this to cause I bought a 8,000 mah 100c gens ace basher pack. On one of my rigs I was hitting lvc with my 5,000 50c pack with my gearing during a wot speed pass, I put that 8000,100c pack and no lvc. But this month I bought a proper kv motor to run the gearing I wanted. Rock on earl!
It’s the stored voltage on a long run as voltage is needed not like punch voltage drop more as what the esc need to max out rpm of a motor with reverse gearing
was the first thing i thought of when they said the motor mount was set farther back. i can hardly get my 9000mah battery's in my v1 now and anything less an my max5/1100kv combo will trip low volt if i leave that setting on.
Earl I wanted to point out aswell, Dwayne on YT that drags has a golden setup for x01s but not v2 versions... If you had a v2 I would set it up as a close to v1 as possible ... Dwayne has a drk grey chopped rear body, big teedo and Shirack aswell all these YT guys are golden 👌
For me the V2 isn't better due to the issues you raised. There was only two reasons I liked the V2. I liked the front suspension tweaks and the clear body.
I believe the V2 basically just has the Infraction V2 gearbox gears )42/15), Not the EXB spiral ones. Would be interesting to compare the weights of all available shafts. V1 vs. V2 & Steel, Scorched Titanium & Raz Carbon shafts for rotating mass. The Red Limitless looks excellent with the Red Rims! Cheers
Smaller slimfit batteries will most likely be needed. No different than with the 6S typhon. They have 4S packs that people run in the single tray setups who have flipped their motor mounts as well. Could be a possibility to alter or remove the V2 battery boxes as well. And I believe the V2 will come with the Infraction/Felony *42/15* all around not the previous Typhon/Limitless F/R diffs *43/13* which is a great upgrade IMO. I agree also would've been nice to see new upgraded treaded hoons or Arrma foams released as well. Can't wait to see a side by side comparison 👍🏾❤️
@@earlmoorhead5555 another thought as well. The XLX2 technically doesn't need a cap so is there really any lipo sag with quality packs. I'm sure that SMC & all the other popular brands have already paired up with RAZ/ARRMA to accommodate these new smaller trays? Introducing SRD 4500-6500 HV LIPOS *new release!* 🤏🏾😉
I think it would be silly for them to shrink the battery trays after the battery makers all came out with huge batteries specifically for the Arrma cars. But what do I know I’m over here still playing with 12 year old slashes that I’ve rebuilt seven times lol. I do dream of buying a orange felony though. Maybe after my channel blows up? 🤷♂️. Thanks for the tips Earl. Much love brother 👍🏻🤟🏻✌🏼
Hey Earl, I listened about your asking ppl about the v2 xo-1... You and your other followers are also right that v2 xo-1 versions drift at higher speeds... Unless you or others are planning on doing like Raz or others hv with fast builds and revamp entirely for drag or speed runs the past versions were a little more stable... The last version gen b4 the V2 was better... I had a chance to drive a new one and didn't like it and really I can also say the versions prior were not extremely better either... I revamped my last gen xo-1 and it's currently at near 3k at cost and I didn't even touch it to the ground stock when I had it eveything was gutted from new, and even then they could become loose at times... I don't even hv Razs PP in setup in it either everything is sold out currently or I would hv it to try... I will say that revamp like you have done with the limitless and Raz and others make the chassis a lead sled to the frame which in turn makes it hook which is where my Xo-1 is.. Stock its a fast feather no weight and doomed for curbs or sliding alot... I hope it helps I'm soon posting about my V2 limitless soon, but I haven't been dropping in a while on YT... Keep your content going another sub👍
I agree , the V1 is a better choice 👍but unfortunately I believe the V1 is done 🤨 I think with the new big batteries coming out will make people have to spend to make it like the V1. I like the new Traxxas XO-1 , that will be my last rc for a few . Great video 💯💯💯
The new xo1 handles like ass unfortunately. Also, the lack of a center diff is very limiting for proper speed run setup. For me it's limitless/infraction then the hobao 7th scale roller.
I don't know if the new Spektrum 14.8V 5000mAh 4S 100C Smart Race Hardcase LiPo Battery are any smaller to fit in the battery trays. that might be an idea, if they are smaller.
Arrma site in replacement parts for the v2 limitless shows its running the same gearing as the v2 infraction and the chassis for the limitless v2 is $10 cheaper then the previous chassis
I'm new to the speed game. I bought a used V1 limitless and grabbed a new roller for $300 so I have a spare V1 for either parts or a second build. I'm only running 6S right now. I did set a new PB yesterday 82 MP. If my big 8200 packs don't fit I won't be a happy guy. I have some PH 7600 short fat packs but if the battery options aren't limitless ... is it truly a Limitless. 🤔 I was out running with a guy who has the X01 & other than the look it's highly overrated. He was only able to get 51mph, it's his first speed car, but this thing was so wobbly and unstable even with TSM on he couldn't keep it going in a straight line. I'm always learning something watching your videos. Thanks Eman
That msm guy is bought and paid for but we as the consumer need to know that and do our own research. It’s easy to find guys like you to get and honest opinion from. I’m like you and give my honest opinion on everything but most people are not. It’s our job to recognize the difference. Great video my friend!
Hey Earl 🙋, so one of the new release videos did mention the new gearing was changed to slow the rotation of the drive shafts at a given speed. Seems like a good idea if the gears hold up.
Yeah all my lipo's are the bigger paxs so that would hurt my feelings if arrma decided to go with shorter battery trays on other trucks. I've never really paid much attention to what msm has to say ,he's lives in McKinney,TX,always thought he works for them.
I think that the bigger battery help you stay on the ground better for it won't flip I think you can take the ball of tray and put a smaller battery in it I think it's going to go know what's up that's my personal opinion I just think it might just become a just the way that the battery is going to cost thank you
Are those rear wheels wider than the front ones? Kinda looks like it in video. If so did they change ge gearing to the felony or something to have diffrent size wheels front and back?
A milliampere hour (mAh) is 1000th of an ampere hour ( Ah ). Both measures are commonly used to describe the energy charge that a battery will hold and how long a device will run before the battery needs recharging.
Yes and when a battery falls below the esc spec of needing recharge the esc cut power to save the battery (LVC ) under rated packs tend to do this on speed run
I think spectrum, horizon hobby set it up Arrma Limitless V2 so we just buy the smart spectrum batteries that are max 5000 mah. No way people will buy the V1 battery holders and somehow install them.
V2 is worth it to me just for gp5 diffs and a real spool xlx2 fits like glove.. ordered 2 pre order never got spectrum $60off email though...I use the cnhl 6200 6s packs parallel they fit
@@earlmoorhead5555 so basically if I ran the V2 spool I’d have to measure out different shafts. I’m just lookn at cheaper route for spool can’t justify $150 for 1 single spool.
Information clear and concise as usual. Very cool build, are you going to do a run with it before you give it away? I would be curious to see how it runs with the upgrades.
I only got two from flowpack but it might have been a cheap eBay spool now that I think of it as I did show how the cheaper option had issues I’ll have to check my older video on the skittles build 🙏👍
I don't have a personal opinion on the V2, I think I'd be more than happy with a V1. Two of my pet peeves in one video - one, youtubers possibly not being forthcoming about the negatives n their reviews is something I feel is nothing less than fraudulent, if they really do that. Second, the blowout sales, because people buy them up just to try and resell them at original retail. I mean, the mfr couldn't sell them out at that price, so now they're just sitting in the resellers' hands waiting for someone to forget they were blown out. Either way, the units are out of available circulation, and the common Joe doesn't benefit from the blowout price unless he got REALLLL lucky with the timing. Both of these, I feel, are harmful to the hobby overall.
Hey Earl my limitless is running on a castle 1717 with the 1260 kv motor 8s combo and my gearing is the stock 27/34 but anytime I try running it on 6s it's super hot so I don't bother anymore I only run it on 4s I'm just trying to make it a basher primarily with the option of 8s for passes so what can I do? I've had the car 2 months and can't run the thing the way I want smh can you please help me. Any tips would be greatly appreciated thank you and God bless.
I don't know as I said before ur my speed guy, if you say it will work I believe it, I'm a basher at heart and dabble in speed I like speed but, I don't have a true speed build, at this time, I know some weight in the right spots is good, after all you don't want to be flying off the road, as well as just the right amount of down force, now I'm happy with hitting mid 70s to low 80s but I speed bash I'm not out to push to many limits speed wise heck I have a low cg Traxxas build I'm in love with but I do fun neighborhood races with it, but from what I know about batteries you could be on to something, after all if you don't have room for the big bricks you're stuck with shorty packs that will only get you so long of a top run time so are we supposed to buy more batteries to run in these v2 or drop the cash for a after market solution? Either way I got to say we're still having to pay more money around because of the v2 rollers being more expensive as all kits of any maker and all styles are these days it's just the cost of business they have to make money to keep doors open , but are there decisions and cutting the corners the right ones to justify the price?? Good catch I was wanting one of arrmas speed bashers mabey I should just start off with the vendetta, the 3 or 4s one and work my way up? With each new version new variables come onto play you put them out there so we less knowledge people know thanks, I hate wasting money.
I ended up buying a Limitless and then they go bring a v2 out. 😭 You can get good speedrun batteries now that will hold voltage way better than the big basher packs. My new 6500 mah Onyx packs sag way less than my Cnhl or my GensAce and gave instant mph. I am also getting on better with the longer 40 can Tp motors than my Castle 1717. So I would buy a v2 for this alone. I still think you will end upgrading the v2 spool and drive shafts. # Arrma 🧀 I like the higher ratio Gp5 diffs so you can gear it lower and lower the drive train rpm. This is a £100 upgrade on the v1. Loving the speedrun content ❤️
Yeah, I've picked up on that too. MSM is entertaining but I'm often very weary of anyone who always states the good side of new products but doesn't say any of the bad things about the older versions until the new version is released? New XO-1 but with the same flimsy body, unbelted tires & lightweight chassis 😏 sad to say it but I seriously doubt this newer version will be any different. The Arrma road cars are just built better & more solid IMO 👑
Well the battery tray can be modded so no big deal. The power is clearly what’s needed. That driveshaft is thick like a milkshake and how I like my women
And the molding of a battery trays not easy to make yourself? But running a gt body you can add to the side plates but we do that now 👍👍just not on the open wheel 🤔
Can't agree Arrma being the best speed and onroad bashers/vehicle. Arrma is just the only Brand doing active marketing and promotion for the consumer class they sell to. Nearly every competion grade GT or rally game class chassis can and will blow Arrmas "on-road chassis" out of the water. Only positve on Arrma side: they come pre-configured for thier purpose.
Great video Earl. Will the v2 limitless have a bigger chassis ? If so maybe there is still enough room for big batteries ? I think they said the width increased on v2, right ?
@@earlmoorhead5555 agreed, I've built the vte2 , with castle electrics, and scorched parts motor mount, with titanium spool. I can confirm the vte2 will impress you.

V2 is worth it to me just for gp5 diffs and a real spool xlx2 fits like glove.. ordered 2 pre order never got spectrum $60off email though...I use the cnhl 6200 6s packs parallel they fit
Yes 6s maybe on the 8s rig 👍but I wouldn’t run the xlx2 as it sucks way to much power
@bevins racing did you do any modifications /cutting when mounting the xlx2 on your v2 or just use some dual lock?
forgive me if I’m wrong I thought the perfect pass was a speed controller as to control the takeoff on the throttle not a gyro 🤔 Great video
Yes it is as I keep saying steering when I meant throttle or trigger
this is an older video but the perfect pass is to be tied in with the esc. which handles the throttle speed.
I thought they made the chassy 1 inch longhr for the batteries????
Doesn’t seem like that 🤔
what tires are you running on the red limitless?

#2...💩 lol. Story of my life...nice machine Earl 👌
Notification squad 💪💪
Can I fit the v2 limitless spool and rear shaft into the v1 limitless. Seems to be a cheaper option than some of these other extended spools.
The motor mounts in a different spot so no
@@earlmoorhead5555 so basically if I ran the V2 spool I’d have to measure out different shafts. I’m just lookn at cheaper route for spool can’t justify $150 for 1 single spool.
QMP sell a aftermarket spool
The perfect pass isn't a gyro it goes to the esc it's for u to get a perfect pull on the throttle every time
No the battery tray really does suck I do like most of your video
I want to how they widened the rear end ?????
Can a center diff be added to the V2 for the purpose of an e-brake?
nice video bud😎👍
Information clear and concise as usual. Very cool build, are you going to do a run with it before you give it away? I would be curious to see how it runs with the upgrades.
All Right First 👍🔥🤪😎
Notification squad 💯👑💪
V1 v2 don’t matter both the same car like Arrma are slacking we want 1/5 scale typhon
I believe that spool is RAMJAM not FLOWPACK? 🧐
Basher needs a center differential from an infraction 50 tooth spur gear with a 20 tooth pinion 👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 thanks Earl I really appreciate the advice Im on it
I love the wheels where did you order them
From ?
eBay
Is it possible to fit the 1100kv Castle motor
Yes I’ve done it on my thunder truck build
You can get good speedrun batteries now that will hold voltage way better than the big basher packs.
# Arrma 🧀
I like the higher ratio Gp5 diffs so you can gear it lower and lower the drive train rpm. This is a £100 upgrade on the v1.
Loving the speedrun content ❤️
Never looked to him for any factual reviews, he seemed to be “on the payroll “ IMO.
Really?
Yeah, I've picked up on that too. MSM is entertaining but I'm often very weary of anyone who always states the good side of new products but doesn't say any of the bad things about the older versions until the new version is released? New XO-1 but with the same flimsy body, unbelted tires & lightweight chassis 😏 sad to say it but I seriously doubt this newer version will be any different. The Arrma road cars are just built better & more solid IMO 👑
Well said Earl. Good review. Same flimsy parts.
What heat sinl are you running on the 1717?
Gcrc mount & I show the 6s arrma ones work just removed the strap on the back
Where did you get the red whells
Power hobby
Thanks
Mr. Details. Dammmmmmmmmmmm. Lol
👍👊💯
If they did shorten the battery trays that is pretty crappy of them. Especially when that's one of the things most people complain about. 💯👍🙏
Yes I was looking close to see if the v1 can use the motor mount but seems it has really short battery trays 🤔
Chique ✌🏼 show carro 🚗
Well the battery tray can be modded so no big deal. The power is clearly what’s needed. That driveshaft is thick like a milkshake and how I like my women
On the V2 ? Center drive shaft is there normal size just shorter 🤔spools thick
And the molding of a battery trays not easy to make yourself? But running a gt body you can add to the side plates but we do that now 👍👍just not on the open wheel 🤔
@@earlmoorhead5555 lol didn’t know it was the big of a mod needed. Sounded like yes a big issue potentially if the highest speed is the goal
The width of the rear tire stance to 8mm chassis looks the same just added holes for the new mount
Just talk to raz he will help you he makes anything work bro👍
Ahead of its time
Big motor small lipos V2 limitless 🤬
This is all subjective to your build
He stole the design from flow pack
Hoboa VTE2 takes 1st prize ...its way better than the rest.
Pretty expensive but definitely well built
@@earlmoorhead5555 agreed, I've built the vte2 , with castle electrics, and scorched parts motor mount, with titanium spool. I can confirm the vte2 will impress you.
Yes I’ve talked to hobao about there line 👍👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 Maybe it's time to try the Hoboa Earl.
Wishing you the best bro.
