BEST dinner ever !!!! Hungry for it now !!!

A man of means such as yourself and a moose hunter I was surprised to see you use store bought salt meat and not some home made stuff. That peace of moose you cooked is good for salt meat.
Good video keep the cabin ones coming.
Thanks, we tried our own salt meat in the past never really liked it.
Love your wood kitchen stove !😊
Thanks

Thanks
Im a Townie but i love the videos

Wish I had some of that Jiggs dinner. Yummy! Last time I had salt beef was 10 years ago. Can’t get it here in Massachusetts. So I have to settle for corned beef dinner. Thanks for the video.
Thanks
I’d shovel the snow off the roof, that snow is very heavy, for safety’s sake, it could collapse the roof.
I ve never caught a eel ice fishing either.
Or have I used a cordless drill on a ice auger, good idea.
That roof can handle twice that load, 2x6 rafters
Great relaxing video, everyone had a wonderful time, that's what its all about. The cabin is shaping up a bit, it will. be nice when you finish. Thank for sharing. Did you cook the EAL, I was hoping I would see you make a meal with the EAL. Until next time, take care.
Thanks, and no i buried the eel in the snow but a mink stole it
Nice Job! Amazing Video!
Thanks
Awesome video looks like a nice spot !!
Thanks
Das sum good stuff der my son 🍽️
Thanks
Thanks for sharing, many hands makes lighter work ,another question about Isle Au Mort, Vick Musseau wondering if you knew him , take care , great videos , God Bless
No i didn't, sorry
That’s still a good jag of ice on the lake.
Yes
You may need to put an extension on that drill auger. I use a 8 inch 40 volt system with an extension for deeper ice
Yes indeed
Nice weekend. I never even thought about eels during the winter. Never caught one either, but they gotta eat too I guess.
Why didn’t you use the wood stove to cook on? No need to use gas and the fireplace when you could have done it all on the stove, no? We had one in a fishing cabin growing up, and we used it until it got too hot outside, then used the gas stove.
Me either
My friends cabin, At roof failure the weight on the roof pushes both walls out, and the whole roof comes down, all in one piece
I'll keep that in mind
I told you to use whole yellow corn kernels!!!!
I'll try it
You should maybe check online or with the government to see if you can get the bathymetric charts for the lakes and ponds you fish. It might help knowing the land that lies underwater.
Here in the US I can get them from the NOAA
I first learned about them from Jon @LostLakes
Do you eat the eels?
Okay that sounds great thanks
Why do they call that Jigg's dinner? Very similar to boiled dinner in Nova Scotia. Love your videos!
Thanks
Another great video. Enjoy the progress on the cabin. Do u have year around access
Yes
Seems close to our boiled dinner in the States.
Yes
Enjoyed the video. Gotta ask where did the blue forming fabric come from ? Some one worked at Corner Brook P&P before it closed?
Yes
Loved your video on pork buns, very delicious but what happened to the pea puddin with your jiggs dinner and you cut the fat of the salt meat, flavour, flavour and flavour!
Lol, cholesterol cholesterol
Are carrots always that big in Newfoundland? Down in the states they are so much smaller. Have you seen?
Yep sure is
I see that you lost your H in Holyrood and picked it up in Heel. Enjoy your video. 😂.
Yes and over to Ireland 🇮🇪
What kind of tool were you using to take the nails out of the wood? I have never seen something like that before, usually the fork at the back of the hammer is used to take nails out?
Nail puller
Where did you get that tool that u used to pull the nails, and why is it called. I need one!!!!
Thats an old time nail puller over 50 years old not sure if you can even buy them now
When was this? Is the ice gone now?
Not yet
How did that meal get the name "Jiggs dinner"? It looked yummy! That rabbit on your camera looked HUGE.
Thanks
I've wondered that too.
Jiggs dinner is from a character by a play write in the United states, the character's name was "jiggs" and everyday he had a boiled dinner. Everything done in one pot, so its commonly called a boiled dinner or jiggs dinner.
@@thenewfoundlandoutsider6354 Thanks for that tidbit. I'll use it when I try this dish.
@@thenewfoundlandoutsider6354 Oh! Okay. Thank you. It's funny we don't use that term here in the US for one pot boiled dinners.
What's up with the kitchen range stove?
Just was there when i bought it
Does it work?
Yes
C'mon Bye's. you didn't even show the Jiggs Dinner! Do you think anybody outside of Newfoundland knows what a JIggs Dinner is? Unless they are Newfoundlander s living on the main land; No one knows! My knick name is Jiggs and I'm telling ya.
I know it
