This game is hot fucking garbage but I love it. Part of that is because Megaman X has such a specific appeal for me that no game that gets the basic gameplay elements of it right can be something I truly hate, but also because I'm the type of person who loves mastering a game and dissecting its design. With the other X games, that's a pretty easy process because of how well designed they are but X6's bullshit creates what I personally find to be a pretty satisfying challenge. Learning what the nightmare effects are and how to avoid the worst of them, learning how to abuse Zero's abilities for invincibility or to just destroy the game's bosses, finally beating Nightmare Mother after dying over and over again, defeating High Max early to reach the end of the game, or trying out different challenge runs is something that I love (I should probably try speedrunning now that I think about it). I don't like it as much as X1, X2, X4, or X5 but X6 holds a pretty special place for me
absolutely crazy that you can just go to this game's fortress without beating the mavericks first. they really just let you do that in a game all about beating them and getting their powers..........

+Hugo Zenni it removes the bosses immunity frames allowing them to take more dmg. Guard shell was coded buggy which allows this to take place. works for X and zero as well.

Gate is easily the most frustrating part of this game. When it takes a speedrunner two minutes to beat him, you know it's a pain in the neck.
The time it takes to beat Gate is completely up to RNG, and it's so stupid.
