Think it can be a mixture of things, like you say for much the same price, or cheaper you can go abroad. Also again when you take the cost of activities and other costs, it’s cheaper to go elsewhere
Thanks Gez and it does seem madness that it’s cheaper to go abroad but I guess this is what things have come to and when people are counting the pennies I can see why they make that decision
Costs are a factor. 2 pensioners. Renting a caravan it feels like we are being taken advantage of when the only accommodation we can get is a 6 or 8 berth caravan for two. Paying for four more people. No smaller accommodation around.
£9 to go and have a look at a waterfall and £25 to go into Tintagel per person how can families afford it ? So not surprised tourists are staying at home
Out of county people buying houses holiday homes only to rent them out for maximum profit, the currupt english council selling off car parks so companies can make maximum prifit, cornwall is broken because of over tourism, too many tourists. I really hope tourism fails and everyone goes abroad. We need a reset
It was a bit quieter where we live this summer but I do think tourism will slow down here in the next few years due to the rising costs of a UK holiday
It’s a shame that Cornwall’s charm is being overshadowed by these price increases
Yes it’s crazy that some people find it cheaper to go abroad for a week in summer, that just can’t be right!
I’ve lived in Cornwall all my life, and it’s heartbreaking to see how unaffordable it is
I bet it’s changed quite a bit over the years
This is such an important topic! I’ve noticed the price hikes in Cornwall too
It is indeed what do you think we can do to fix it?

We used to holiday in Cornwall every summer, but it’s become too expensive for our family
Sadly I hear this a lot and it’s a real shame 😳
Thanks for shedding light on this issue
Thanks for watching 👀
This makes me wonder if other popular UK destinations are facing similar issues
I would imagine so, I think Cornwall is especially bad however
This is a complex issue, but community-driven solutions could be the way forward.
🙏🙏
Really good and thanks for raising awareness on this topic

Yes that’s a tough one!

Sadly this is all to common now and it’s a real shame 😳
ANYWHERE in the UK is now too expensive! ANYWHERE! Bristol, London, Edinburgh, Liverpool, ANYWHERE!
Have you considered interviewing local politicians or activists about what can be done?
That’s a great idea! 💡
Ridiculous parking prices ! Food overpriced and lots of accommodation poor
I’ll agree with you on the parking prices! 🅿️
It’s ironic that Cornwall’s popularity might be what leads to its downfall.
I know very sad 😭
