You are great. Awesome video. I feel your pain. I took lexapro for a couple of years to help me get off of opioids and stay off.. and recently I jumped off of the lexapro. I was surprised that I had mild withdrawals from lexapro, some of the symptoms actually reminded me of opioid withdrawal which is absolute hell. People are dumb to think that getting off SSRIs is easy. You got this. It took like 2-3 weeks for me to feel normal again. It will get a lot better.
Thanks for sharing your story. Proud of the language you used. Because it’s FUCKING HARD! But also doable. Going very slow and having a good therapist that isn’t big on meds helped me a lot. So many people have the reaction you did but few talk about it. Thank you!
I have been through Lexapro withdrawals and I can absolutely empathize with you. It is hell!! You were smarter than I was about tapering off though. I was misdiagnosed and I found out Lexapro was actually making me worse, so I tried to taper off over 1 week. I'm hoping you've managed to avoid the brain zaps, they are crazy and irritating and make it so hard to function! Anyway, just keep reminding yourself that this is not forever, this will gradually end, and you will be done with it. Be patient with yourself and take care of yourself. You deserve some ice cream! I'm sure you'd prefer a Dole Whip, though. ;)
I'm so sorry that you're going through all of those withdrawal symptoms, hun. Thinking of you, and hoping that you feel better fast! I didn't have it that bad, but when I went off of my BC after getting married, I was on it for sooooo long my hormones gave me a hard time trying to normalize. I cried all the time for no reason, and had mad mood swings as well. It's so tough. Hang in there....hopefully it's sooner than later!
Week 4 was the week symptoms hit me severe insomnia and hypo active mind like my brain was pulsating for the drug it’s honestly been pretty horrific , 10 emotional breakdowns a day feeling I was going crazy ,,, it’s weird as when I was on the drug I would never cry ever only happy and now my body trying to work out how to reset 😫
I would love to hear you speak about how someone who doesn't have anxiety could deal properly with people who do have it. Half of my immediate family has really bad anxiety and I feel terrible because (because I don't have it) I tend to just tell them just to stop and suck it up and just get through it even though I know they can't. I have body dysmophia disorder really bad and I completely understand that feeling of people just telling you to get over it when you truly can't - it's impossible to do that but when you don't have something or are dealing with it - it's so difficult to know how to help someone.
+Lily Mac thats an awesome video suggestion and id love to make it! It can be hard to understand what to when you're on the outside looking in but you are at least acknowledging you could do better which is awesome!
Hey Christine, I'm sorry you are going through this. My heart goes out to you. I wish I had the perfect words and advice to give you to make it better. I hope you consulted your doctor before tapering off of your medicine. Some medicine has to be tapered off in a certain way. I'm sure you already know this, you're a very smart person. I hope you will start to feel better soon. Have a safe and wonderful trip. I look forward to hearing about it when you get back.
I know this is old, but thank you for posting it. I'm going through the same thing right now and I feel so alone, and almost like I'm making it all up. This really helped.
It’s been a month since I stopped Lexapro. First few weeks, I was fine. After a month, I got bad anxiety. Not sure why it started after a month. Did anyone face the same problem.
Please listen to me. BENADRYL aka diphenhydramine helps with the zaps and agitation when coming off zoloft. i cant believe no one ever told me this. its been 30 minutes after taking benadryl and i feel so much better and its time to go to bed so WIN WIN
its so nice to know someone else is going through the same thing ive been dealing with since 2014. im taking a low dose anti depressant as well. i feel like i can never get off it since i get extremely ill every time i have tried. i have tried every stomach doctor and feel ill constantly. i have to take a ton of probiotics just to eat normally. i forgot my medicine once on a staycation and collapsed in a hastings.
You mean your use of Lexapro was for IBS-C or the withdrawal of it caused stomach issues like me? I started having massive bloated/constipation with big pain and physically stomach got big like a pregnant girl by them on the 9th day since I stopped taking it like suddenly and never go away..( already suffering from it been almost 3 weeks every single day.. so did you completely get of Lexapro tho..?
@@poo9305still on them to date. I get to where I can’t eat anything when I’m off them. I feel absolutely horrible. The stomach cramps are awful. I definitely deal with bloat but that’s just ibs for me in general.
Im so sorry to hear about this trauma... but I am so glad I found your videos through Rob (love him too!) I live in MI and it is the best place to be on the fourth for sure! Where do you stay (maybe I can even meet you) Thanks for making such amazing videos and feel better
Honestly about 4 weeks until 80% of the symptoms subsided. Probably 5-6 until they were all gone. I don't know if Prozac is any different than lexapro though, so keep that in mind. It's a slow process but you'll come out better for it!
I'm off zoloft4 months ad still get sweats chills every day . It gets me down . I was told it go on for months and months . I was only on it 9 months and tapered for 5 . I did a quick taper till the last bit but didn't think I'd be left like this . I'm post menopause and on hrt patches but now I'm.getting constant sweats from.this poison .
Ivy, I have been off lexapro for about 2-3 weeks. I have been having joint pain, feel like I’m in fog, very tired. Did you experience this how long did last? Thank you!
How did you bring this up with your Dr.? Did you make a separate appointment to talk about or did it just come up in a regular appointment? I think this is something I have developed over the last few years and have been struggling knowing what to do about it. If you have any other tips about how to manage it I would appreciate that as well!
Hi mam i used stalapom 1 week erection problem then i stopped suddemly improved but i still facing erection problem blood test scan al r normal dr saying anxiety so recommending fluoxetine to overcome this ED pls suggest
Withdrawal can last a long time. Depending on your dose, the time on the drug(s), and the amount of time coming off. If you do reinstate, try coming off very very slow.
I was on 10mg and it helped a bit. About 10 years ago I was on 20mg. The withdrawals aren't fun but I promise they are temporary. They are uncomfortable but not harmful. You can definitely do it!

how’re you doing??
The worst thing u can ever do during withdrawal is get stupidly drunk
The first symptom I had with withdrawal was the day after I got very drunk. And I felt terrible for a very long time
